Chapter 106: Chapter 97 Sewing

Scavenging through the apartment yielded a vast array of clothes, but all these items were called damaged clothing and could only be torn apart for cloth. The first wearable article of clothing was the sailor suit Lin Wu found in the navy store, an intact, system-recognized garment. The second was two sets of brand-new, packaged winter clothing obtained while scavenging the tent area.

Lin Wu didn’t go up to check nor did he suspect that Nightmare had already fled. This behavior was influenced by Stone. Stone believed that for some valuable people, it’s appropriate to show some goodwill and trust. Stone’s cooperation with Wanderer and Invincible Base had been like this.

At the fifty-seventh minute, Nightmare came down the stairs, holding a pistol with a flashlight attached. The flashlight shone on Lin Wu and then quickly moved away. Lin Wu stood up, took out the file bag from his backpack, and handed it to Nightmare. As Nightmare took the file bag, he paused briefly before stashing it away. He then took out a book titled "Sewing" from his backpack and handed it to Lin Wu as a Skill Book.

Lin Wu took out his phone, adjusted the volume, and connected with headquarters. Stone: "Yes?"

Stone replied after a moment, "Arrive on time in seven minutes."

Lin Wu disconnected the call, pointed out the route on the second-floor balcony, and signaled for the two of them to take the left side and wait on top of the first factory building.

Nightmare nodded in agreement. Lin Wu traded him a firecracker. Nightmare lit the firecracker and threw it to the open space on the right, attracting zombies with the explosion. Then both men jumped off the balcony.

Unexpectedly, a Frenzy burst out from behind the left side’s garbage bin, clearly also planning to check out the firecracker but instead bumped into humans. The NPC Frenzy, without hesitation, changed its target and lunged at Lin Wu. Lin Wu caught it with his left hand in a beast trap, pressing down as he knelt, and finished it off with rapid dagger stabs.

Looting the corpse while in Stealth. the two made their way to the base of the factory. Lin Wu tossed the searched Frenzy corpse aside and was about to start climbing when Nightmare threw a grappling hook, catching the top of the building and signaling Lin Wu to go first. Lin Wu looked at Nightmare, grabbed the rope and, using his feet for leverage, climbed to the roof of the factory, with Nightmare following up.

The two squatted silently without communicating. Lin Wu checked the time—it was almost time—touched Nightmare’s shoulder, then leaped onto the wall. Nightmare followed suit, jumping onto the wall. The zombies on the street immediately noticed them, and the two moved forward along the wall, a screeching roar following behind.

Overlord roared into view, arriving punctually near the wall. With a sudden sharp brake, Overlord slid eight meters to the side, killing several zombies. Lin Wu and Nightmare both jumped down, Nightmare seeing Lin Wu step onto the running board and imitating the move. But then, unexpectedly, Overlord violently shook its head, flinging Nightmare out of the vehicle, who then rolled several times on the road.
