King Of War: Starting with Arms Dealer -
Chapter 960 - 863: Have Some Fun
Sangha Town is approximately 1200 kilometers in linear distance from Ad-Damazin and about 1400 kilometers from Niger Base.
The F-16's combat radius is at most 1000 kilometers, so these short-legged birds can't span such a long distance to support Ad-Damazin and Niger Base.
But the Sukhoi Su-27 is a different story altogether. Despite many criticisms, its combat radius is much larger.
Moreover, this is Africa, where overpowering firepower isn't necessary.
The Su-27 armed with two 250-kg cluster bombs and two sets of four Blue Sword Missiles each, plus an auxiliary fuel tank, can fly over, strike, loiter a bit, and then return.
The Chinese pilots now have formal identities as contracted flight instructors of the fighter jet 4S shops. When they'll hold classes depends on how the 4S shops do business.
Before that, though, they need to take turns servicing the two Su-27s to provide long-distance support to Ad-Damazin and Niger.
Niger is okay, but Ad-Damazin is a different story with Sayram and Eric both having not stopped calling for support since the north-south conflict in SD began.
Even though the Bolivian Squad and a contingent of P·B soldiers have already been dispatched to Sangha Town, they're still not satisfied.
There are now nearly 80 Chinese guests in the resorts of Ad-Damazin, and their being stranded there exerts enormous pressure on Sayram.
Now, with the north and south of SD at each other's throats, it's definitely impossible to travel by road. Khartoum's airport has also suspended international flights due to safety concerns, and neighboring Ethiopia is not much tranquil either.
After weighing the options for a long while, the decision-makers of the Chinese enterprises eventually decided to wait a bit longer, seeing no need to evacuate hastily, as the guiding company in Ad-Damazin is very capable.
There, even a random receptionist can hit a target 500 meters away with a hunting rifle.
The southern Dingka people are no match for them!
And so, Sayram and Eric remain unsatisfied...
Sayram is worried because some high-rollers are trapped there. Should anything go awry, future team-building events from China might stop, leading to losses for the resort.
Eric, on the other hand, is angry because Dingka militia poachers are relentlessly slaughtering animals on the plains surrounding the guiding company.
The presence of the guiding company drove away the greedy Dingka poachers, causing a dramatic rise in local wildlife numbers.
But now, Dingka poachers are taking advantage of the combat situation to venture deep into the territory controlled by the guiding company. They're using modern weaponry to hunt the plains animals for profit.
This pushed Eric to his limits, and worried that deploying 'little Angels' would disadvantage them due to their small numbers, he's been calling for support from Sangha Town.
Originally, he wanted a Griffin-1 fighter jet because Ad-Damazin also has an internal airport. Not fearing a lack of missiles, their bullets were plenty, and the aircraft's onboard cannon is also capable of giving the Dingka a hard time.
But Eric probably didn't anticipate that after calling for so many days, what arrived weren't Griffin-1s but two jet fighters.
The Dingka poachers also wouldn't have thought that while they sought to profit from chaos, their adversaries would deploy fighter jets against them.
......
For Chinese pilots, the Su-27 aircraft is all too familiar.
These pilots crossed half the Earth...
Flying from Iraq over Syria, crossing the Mediterranean to reach Libya, refueling in Libya, then traversing the entirety of Chad to finally arrive in Sangha Town.
After just 48 hours' rest, two pilots set out again, headed for Ad-Damazin to carry out their mission.
As pilots trained through formal programs, had they ever experienced such conditions?
Surrounded by military powerhouses in East Asia, there's a strict safety protocol even for patrolling, and crossing national borders without necessity is absolutely forbidden.
And yet, they wreaked havoc in Iraq and flew wildly without any objections; now in Africa, this sensation is even more absurd.
For the sake of fuel economy, the two pilots flew at the most economical speed across the skies of southern SD, taking 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive at their destination.
The two pilots simultaneously lowered their altitude and then gave each other a signal to start a wide-ranging circular maneuver to the left and right...
"P·B Flying Squadron 'Magpie' calling Ad-Damazin, we have arrived at the combat position, please direct us to the ground targets..."
"Where are you? Why can't we see you?"
Upon hearing this, 'Magpie' chuckled and lowered altitude further, then went full throttle at an altitude of 2000 meters to produce a sonic boom. Following that, Eric's exclamation came through the radio...
"oh shit, it's jet fighters...
'Hu Lang' must be insane, the Dingka people's lives are not worth more than the fuel cost!"
'Magpie' wasn't sure how to respond and could only repeat the call...
"We have limited loitering time, we need ground target direction..."
Anxious, Eric hurriedly replied on the radio, "Oh, wait, wait, we'll figure something out..."
