Chapter 335 - Chapter 335 Chapter 59 Joint Interview
Chapter 335: Chapter 59 Joint Interview Chapter 335: Chapter 59 Joint Interview “Look who’s here, the second youngest Best Supporting Actress in Oscar history.” After Kirsten Dunst closed the office door, Adrian said with a teasing tone as his gaze roamed freely over her.
Kirsten flashed an innocent smile and walked straight to the back of the desk, hopping onto Adrian’s thigh. She wore a light-colored blouse and a dark jacket, with a plaid skirt that barely reached mid-thigh, and white socks that stretched to her ankles, topped with brown leather shoes. Her golden curls drooped beautifully from her head, making her appear like any other adorable girl if not for those beautiful eyes occasionally oozing seductiveness.
“I love that nickname, Ed,” Kirsten said as she almost lay on Adrian, her slightly puffed chest rubbing against him unintentionally as she became more and more aware of how to use her advantages to make him like her.
“Your mom didn’t come with you?” Adrian knowingly asked as he lifted her chin with his hand.
“Of course not. Vanity Fair wants to do an interview with me, so mom went ahead to talk to them, and I had someone else send me over,” Kirsten said with a flirtatious glance.
“That’s pretty impressive, an interview with Vanity Fair,” Adrian said, stroking her smooth cheek and laughing lightly. “They have a high standard for photography, I’m really curious to see how they’ll capture your beauty and cuteness.”
“According to my agent, Vanity Fair initially planned to invite me for the cover, but they found a better choice, although they’ll have to share it with other media,” Kirsten giggled, turning her body back from the side, straddling Adrian’s leg even more intimately, her little nose almost touching his face.
“Then I guess I should turn down the interview with Vanity Fair,” Adrian purposely said.
Kirsten didn’t say anything, just grinned at him, occasionally swaying her petite bottom that was seated on his thigh.
“Alright, enough about that, let’s get down to business,” Adrian said, signaling her to get off him. “I called you here not just to give you some advice on physiological matters; we have other things to discuss.”
“Really?” The little fairy obediently jumped down, but then leaned back with her hands on the desk, easily sitting on the wide office desk, languidly with her knees slightly apart, hinting at what lay beneath the skirt.
“Of course.” Adrian leaned forward, placing his hand on her waist, barely giving it a few pinches before Kirsten softened with an “Mmm,” and if she hadn’t braced herself with her hands, she might have already fallen onto the desk. Her rounded cheeks flushed with a soft bite on her lips, her gray-green eyes misting over.
As tempting as the sight was, and even though Adrian’s hands still wandered over the little fairy’s delicate body, his expression was serious, “About your future development, we need to talk.”
“Do we need to?” Kirsten was slightly breathless, letting out soft, excited moans whenever Adrian’s hand brushed over her sensitive spots. “Just arrange it as you see fit; you won’t let me down, right?”
“Of course,” Adrian replied with a slight smile. “But you should at least understand the specifics, Qiqi; otherwise, how will you manage if things don’t go as you’ve imagined? You’re not a doll to be played with at will.”
As he spoke, his movements ceased, and Kirsten too realized something. After taking several deep breaths, she straightened up to look at Adrian. Although she still maintained a smile, it was less charming and seductive than before.
“Compared to your peers, you have already reached a height they cannot,” Adrian said leisurely, “Do you know what a function curve graph is, Qiqi?”
“Um… not really,” Kirsten slightly furrowed her brows.
“I don’t quite get it either,” Adrian’s hand brushed over her furrowed brow, “To put it simply, it’s about peaks and troughs. After you’ve risen to a peak, it’s inevitable to fall to a trough. I’m sure everyone would agree that by winning Best Supporting Actress, you have already reached the first peak in your life, so…”
“So I’m bound to come across the first trough in my life, right?” Kirsten picked up the conversation, and although she looked calm, Adrian still noticed a hint of despondency.
She really was still just a girl. He chuckled quietly to himself. While Kirsten often demonstrated the maturity almost equal to that of an adult, such as decisively placing her bets on Adrian and the various seductive tactics, her experience was inevitably lacking. Such situations were bound to arise.
“Everyone goes through this, Qiqi, including myself. With peaks come troughs; it’s a natural law. Some may manage to stay on the peak a bit longer, but over time, the descent into the trough is inevitable. What you need to do is minimize the depth of the trough and prepare to climb to the peak again,” Adrian explained with a smile, “Life is full of ups and downs, understand, Qiqi?”
“Yes, I understand,” Kirsten closed her eyes for a good while before opening them again, “Tell me your plans, Ed.”
Her lack of experience was a factor, but she was quite clever and managed to adjust quickly. Adrian nodded approvingly and continued, “Do you remember what I told you when I suggested you take the role in ‘Jumanji’? As you get older, you’ll face a period of three to four years or even longer that could be awkward, so you need to take roles in big commercial productions to maintain your popularity, even if it’s just a supporting role. Of course, you also need to keep up with independent films to hone your acting skills. If you want to go further, it will require even more effort.”
“No problem,” Kirsten’s eyes lit up.
“I haven’t finished yet, Qiqi. Don’t get too excited,” Adrian shook his head, “Even so, if you want to go further, that could be more than ten years away. Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress are different; they require experience, acting skills, and… luck! If it weren’t for your outstanding acting, how would you have won Best Supporting Actress? But people marvel at your acting relative to your age. Qiqi, I’m not trying to discourage you; I’m simply stating a fact. As you grow up, even if your acting improves, people will still think the current you is the best you, and you may face more criticism and difficulties. Hollywood has many girls who gained fame at a young age, but not many of them develop well. Take, for example, Tatum O’Neal, the youngest Best Supporting Actress before you. I don’t need to elaborate on where she stands now.”
Adrian paused here, giving Kirsten time to digest this information before continuing, “So, this will be a long journey. Even with me by your side, even though I really like you, you still need to be prepared. Some things aren’t up to just me; you still have to follow the rules of the game. What you need to do now is to keep up your momentum. You’re already a big star, Qiqi. If you have any thoughts, you can tell me directly. I’m more than willing to listen.”
“Thank you, Ed,” Kirsten sighed deeply and then displayed a sweet smile, “I’ll listen to you.”
With her intelligence, she naturally understood the purpose of Adrian’s long explanation. Since she had placed all of her bets on him and what he said was true, it was natural for her to accept it. However, Adrian knew that Kirsten hadn’t completely grasped the last part, but that was okay. Even if she couldn’t hear it now, she would come to understand in two or three years. He hoped she wouldn’t make any mistakes. As for that further step, it was currently just pie in the sky until a suitable plan came along.
“That’s right, little fairy,” Adrian said with a smile, and his hands started moving again.
“Oh, I’m starting to like this nickname more and more, Ed,” Kirsten’s smile began to turn seductive again, “Especially when you use it to address me.”
“Really?” Adrian leaned forward slightly, admiring Lolita’s features from up close, unaware that Kirsten took the opportunity to drape one of her legs over his shoulder. Her already short plaid skirt naturally lifted quite a bit, revealing the semi-transparent white underpants to Adrian’s view.
“The tutoring session should be next, right? I still have a lot to ask you,” Kirsten said with a twinkle in her eyes and her smile becoming increasingly seductive.
“Indeed–that’s right,” Adrian acknowledged, before suddenly grasping her ankles and placing her other leg on his shoulder as well.
“Well, now let’s see, the most basic structure,” Adrian said with a teasing gaze.

“That’s about it. There are also two evaluations of several managers, but I don’t think you’ll need them,” Charlize said as she laid out all the documents Adrian needed on his office desk.
“Thank you, Charli, you did great,” Adrian nodded to his secretary after briefly flipping through the papers.
Charlize didn’t say anything and turned to leave, but after a couple of steps, she stopped, sighed anxiously, and turned back to Adrian, “Do you know what you’re doing, Ed?”
“What do you mean?” Adrian asked, puzzled.
“You know,” Charlize said, looking him straight in the eye.
After a moment of eye contact, Adrian laughed silently. Kirsten had left the room completely put-together, but her faintly blushing cheeks, slightly out-of-breath demeanor, and unsteady footsteps didn’t escape Charlize’s notice, especially since she was well aware of Adrian’s nature.
“What, you think I’m up to something?” He stood up, smiling, and strolled over to his secretary, the smile on his face becoming more playful, “Do you really think I’m that reckless?”
“It’s hard to say.” Charlize maintained eye contact with him, her look of concern was subtle, but nonetheless visible, “Don’t think I don’t know, Ed, you’re walking a tightrope.”
“Okay, Charli, I know you’re concerned about me, but I’ve got it under control,” Adrian then embraced Charlize from behind, taking a deep breath next to her neck, “I know what I’m doing.”
Charlize struggled slightly, then stopped moving, only turning her head away as if to say: I don’t believe you.
“What do I need to explain for you to believe me?” Adrian asked with an exasperated tone, “Should I call Kirsten back in so you can drag her to the back room and verify for yourself?”
Although he said that, Adrian sighed inwardly. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to fully indulge, in fact, after guiding on the usage of fingers, the little fairy had hinted that they could go further. However, if he were to indulge rashly, the consequences might be difficult to handle, so after careful consideration, he realized he could only wait a bit longer.
“I just want to remind you, it’s very dangerous. If you’re caught red-handed… do you really want me to end up on…” Charlize pinched her fingers but did not continue.
“Don’t worry, when have I ever acted without considering the consequences?” Adrian said as he kissed the back of her neck, then exclaimed loudly, “It’s so wonderful to have someone care.”
The figure in his arms trembled slightly, and then he heard Charlize sigh in an almost imperceptible voice.
“That said, Charli, since you care so much about me, how about helping me out?” Adrian suddenly suggested.
“What kind of help?” Charlize finally turned her head around, looking puzzled at him.
“It’s simple…” Adrian leaned closer with a mischievous smile and whispered a few words into her ear, causing Charlize’s expression to turn peculiar. She stepped back and glared at him, her face complex.
———————–
The straightforward conference room had been cleared, with reporters from several print media outlets already waiting. The clout of these guys was not small–with publications like Time, Vanity Fair, People, and so on–any of them inviting a celebrity for an interview would be warmly received, even if the celebrity might refuse. But the situation like now, cramped in a company’s conference room, awaiting the appearance of the interviewee, was not common; it was reserved for the big shots.
Adrian definitely qualified as a big shot, even though no one could estimate exactly how much his fortune amounted to, but he absolutely belonged to the billionaire’s club. AC Media might be a newcomer in the media industry, yet its formidable strength was evident from several acquisitions in the past two years. If it weren’t for his hands-off approach to his own company–at least on the surface–there would likely be magazines like Fortune and Forbes here today as well.
Even without considering his status as a young, wealthy man, the achievements he had garnered in film were enough for the reporters to admire. Setting aside the fact that he became the youngest Best Director at the Oscars with Forrest Gump, and broke records by taking home three Oscar statuettes in a single ceremony; not to mention his name as a producer in many highly successful films of the last summer and Christmas seasons; the fact that the box office hits of recent years were all connected to his talent and his unfailing keen eye was enough to earn respect.
Thus, when they were informed that Adrian needed to return to London for the production of a new film and had limited time for individual interviews, suggesting a joint interview instead, they didn’t hesitate to agree.
“Sorry to have kept everyone waiting,” Adrian said with a congenial smile as he walked in. Dressed in a sharp suit, tall and handsome, he cordially shook hands with the reporters, winning their good opinion effortlessly.
“First of all, congratulations on winning the Oscar for Best Director, Mr. Adrian. We all know Forrest Gump is an outstanding film. However, it is said that during the adaptation, you had some conflicts with the original author, Winston Gluum. Could you tell us why you chose to adapt it in the way you did?” Once Adrian took his seat and indicated they could begin, the reporter from Time on the left asked the first question.
“I had some unpleasant moments with Winston, but that’s all in the past now,” Adrian responded with a smile, knowing these reporters were not less adept at playing with words than the tabloids. “Frankly, at first, I too wanted to follow the original idea of the novel. I loved that saying: ‘Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.’ But after drafting a few scenes, I always felt something was off. This really troubled me for a while, the satirical tone in the novel, though provocative and poignant, did not seem to be what I wanted. It plagued me until I remembered a previous work of mine. In the 1992 film Scent of a Woman, I once put it through Al’s mouth: ‘Tango is not about right or wrong; if you make the wrong move or stumble, just keep dancing.’ I finally understood the story I wanted to tell, the story of Forrest Gump running towards his goals, unyielding and determined. Perseverance is one of the most wonderful traits and also one of the symbols of the American spirit!” (To be continued.
