Chapter 287 - Chapter 287 Chapter 14 A Pleasant Weekend

Chapter 287: Chapter 14 A Pleasant Weekend Chapter 287: Chapter 14 A Pleasant Weekend Blue Sky, white clouds, and the blossoming spray of the waves hitting the rocks, Julia sat angrily on the balcony, hugging her legs and gazing at the distant horizon. Her long, curly hair fluttered in the sea breeze. Every time she thought about how she had ended up here, she would get furious and had resolved that no matter what Adrian did today, she would ignore him.

At that time, she was at another villa, keeping her niece company, the daughter of her irresponsible brother and his girlfriend, Emma Roberts. Adrian had come over directly, declaring that they still had a date today.

“I didn’t agree at all yesterday,” Julia flatly refused him. She wanted him to know that she was not someone he could summon and dismiss at will. However, to avoid embarrassing Adrian too much (or so Julia thought), she quickly made an excuse, “I still need to accompany my niece.”

She had thought Adrian would take the hint and leave. However, to her surprise, he smiled, walked over to Emma, knelt down, and started to ingratiate himself. What she hadn’t expected was, just a few words later, the initially wary little girl was smiling at him. It always took much longer for someone to win Emma’s trust. Then, Adrian said something that almost made her faint.

“I’m supposed to go on a date with your aunt, but she’s not willing, so I have to use some unconventional methods to get her to come, then you can do whatever you want at home with the babysitter.” He said this to Emma, and her three-year-old niece blinked and then happily nodded her head.

“What are you talking about, Ed?” Julia yelled angrily, but the next moment, Adrian scooped her up in a sudden embrace.

Caught off guard, she screamed and, feeling both ashamed and furious, began to struggle. Before she could speak, Adrian threatened her first, “Stay still, Julia, unless you want Emma to see something she shouldn’t.”

“What are you planning to do?” Julia asked nervously.

“Nothing much,” Adrian tilted his head to think, then showed an offensive smile, “For instance, how about I tie you up with a rope and stuff you in a car?”

“I want to see! I want to see!” Before Julia could respond, the little Emma, sitting on the couch, suddenly giggled and clapped her hands, shouting excitedly.

Indignant and somewhat humiliated, Julia felt completely disoriented. By the time she came to her senses, she was already in Adrian’s car, half-coerced into going to Orange County.

“Ha, I knew I’d find you here, Julia,” Adrian appeared at the door holding two champagne glasses.

“What are you doing here?” Julia spoke coldly, “I’ve already said I won’t charge you with illegal confinement, so you don’t need to keep trying to please me.”

“Are you worried about Emma?” Ignoring her concerns, Adrian came over to her and leaned in to kiss her cheek. Julia tried to turn away, but Adrian grabbed her waist and pulled her close, forcibly kissing her just as he had when he put her in the car.

“You can’t… do this!” Julia struggled feebly.

“Emma is safe with the babysitter. She’s a good girl, reminds me of another Emma all the way in London,” Adrian soothed her cheek, handing her the glass, “But right now, it’s just the two of us.”

Julia silently drank champagne and turned her head to continue looking outside the balcony.

“Remember there?” Adrian pointed toward a spot along the shoreline, “The first time you came here, you loved walking on that beach. You said the sunset there was the most beautiful, and every time you came here, you would walk there as the sun was setting. Today shouldn’t be any different, right?”

Julia flashed a faint smile as something came to mind, but then quickly composed herself, “No, today I don’t want to revisit the past.”

“Really?” Adrian looked at her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, gazing unblinkingly at her for a long time. Although Julia tried to keep her spirits up and maintain eye contact, she gradually lost the will to resist just as she had before in that gaze.

Just as she was about to agree, Adrian suddenly changed the subject, “Well then, let’s do something else.”

This momentarily made Julia feel choked up, but she quickly became surprised when Adrian picked up a guitar, sat on the balcony, and began to sing and play by himself. He sang a country folk song by John Denver called “Back Home Again”–fresh and warm. Although Adrian’s singing was not as good as John Denver’s, accompanied by the sea breeze and the barely discernible sound of the waves, it created a distinct flavor.

Those dark eyes continued to fix on Julia, never leaving her as she listened to the song and involuntarily sighed. Sometimes she despised her own lack of self-respect, and more than once she had thought about leaving him, but each time after meeting him, she would immediately dismiss the thought.

In private, Adrian was a considerate and good man; he remembered her preferences, her habits, everything about her–you could feel his whole heart was on you; but at other times, he was an undeniable jerk, juggling several women without batting an eye–Julia was well aware that he had definitely slept with his beautiful secretary, and his lack of contact this past week couldn’t possibly be because of Monica.

But, he was very charming, alternately tender and compelling, hard to get away from. Julia still remembered the night she had drunkenly confronted him about whether he had slept with Cameron. Most men at that moment would either deny it or shift the topic ambiguously, but Adrian bluntly admitted it and thought “it was just a fling” and “you are different”.

She had actually let him off the hook, and thinking about all of today’s events, Adrian’s somewhat coercive demeanor, and her own compliance, Julia suddenly realized he had her completely under his control; what’s worse, she seemed to actually enjoy this feeling of being controlled.

Julia looked at Adrian, who was still singing, her lips faintly curved in a smile, her dark eyes clear and deep. She inwardly chuckled bitterly; she was clear that besides all this, there was another important reason she stayed by his side.

Here, she had established her own position; she didn’t necessarily need to rely on him, and he wouldn’t force her to stay either. Julia told herself this more than once, but always forgot it right after. How could she forget who had pulled her from being labeled box office poison? Although working with Denzel Washington on “The Pelican Brief” also played a significant part, it was “Four Weddings and a Funeral” that really marked her comeback–according to Adrian, if you fall down in that type of movie, you should stand up in that type.

The promise of his five-part romance series, and the deeper meaning hidden behind it, also stirred her heart. Having watched Adrian reach the position he was in today, Julia fully believed he could accomplish this.

All these factors mixed together thoroughly quenched any notion of leaving him. There was nothing wrong with that. After all, she could leave anytime, but before then, she wouldn’t lose to any other woman. This was what Julia told herself in her heart, and this thought peaked when she woke up the next morning.

=================================

“I never knew you were so lustful towards women too.” This lazy statement rang in her ear, and Julia abruptly opened her eyes, only to see Monica’s mockingly seductive face.

No wonder there was such a soft sensation on her hand, but… how was she here? Julia bolted upright from the bed, only to discover both she and Monica completely naked. She let out a short scream and quickly wrapped herself in the duvet, glanced around, then looked blankly at Monica.

“Why… why are you here?” she asked, somewhat stammering.

“Why can’t I be here?” Monica rolled over, propping her face with her hand and displaying her body unabashedly in front of Julia, as if… she was showing off?

“No… I mean…” Julia didn’t quite know what to say, “This is… Ed’s villa…”

“You can come to Ed’s villa, and I can’t?” Monica’s smile turned teasing, “Or, do you want to tell me you’ve forgotten all about last night, Julia?”

“Last night… last night…” Julia covered her forehead, having scanned the room again, and indeed, she was in Adrian’s bedroom, where the morning sunlight streaming in through the windows confirmed the time and place.

Upon meeting Monica’s gaze again, her body slightly shivered, and the events of last night finally surged through her mind.

Under Adrian’s onslaught, Julia quickly softened, frolicked with him throughout the day, and come evening, naturally, there was drinking, heartfelt conversation, and making love. She knew Adrian had forced her here somewhat and wouldn’t easily let her go, so she willingly and passionately entangled with him. However, just as he lifted her from behind, driving her to delirious pleasure, the bedroom door opened, and a woman appeared at the doorway.

“Finally remembered?” Monica said composedly. “Honestly, your kissing skills are quite impressive.”

Julia’s cheeks instantly flushed to her ears, those licentious images continuously swirling in her mind, and suddenly, anger surged from within her heart, “I just want to know! Why the hell did you come here?”

“I used the key to this villa, initially wanted to come here to take a break, you know, paparazzi are always annoying. I didn’t expect to find you guys here.” Monica didn’t take her furious shouting to heart, continuing with a lazy tone while half-naked, “Angry? Why? Because of last night’s debauchery?”

“I… you…” Julia’s body trembled slightly, she barely managed to control herself and snapped back, “If we’re talking about debauchery, I’m nothing compared to you, Monica!”

“So Ed prefers me a bit more,” Monica shrugged, “I can satisfy him more than you can, Julia. Of course, I admit I might have gained some advantage afterward, but your performance was indeed very lousy.”

“I am very lousy, I am worse than you?!” Julia scoffed coldly, “Are you talking big, Monica?”

“This is the truth, Julia, I know you don’t want to admit it, but…” Monica shrugged, with a provocative and disdainful look in her eye while Julia almost seemed to have sparks shooting from her eyes.

Just as the tension escalated, Adrian’s voice finally sounded: “Would you ladies like breakfast?”

==================================

Looking at the two women in the room, one unabashedly naked and the other half-hidden under a blanket, Adrian felt a profound sense of satisfaction. Last night was the most enjoyable one he had had in years, rolling around unrestrainedly with Monica and Julia and climaxing simultaneously was truly exhilarating.

Monica’s presence was, of course, planned. While in Montgomery, she had hinted that they could perhaps try including Julia. Given such an opportunity, Adrian had no reason to refuse, so eventually, he settled on the current plan: while alone with Julia at the villa in Orange County, he would find a moment to call Monica, then appear during their passionate moment to join in, act first and then discuss afterward.

“Sorry, Julia, about this…” At this moment, Adrian looked at Julia then at Monica, and immediately showed a genuinely apologetic expression, not at all feigned. He placed the tray with milk on the nightstand and was about to explain, but Monica beat him to it, getting out of bed and walking naked to his side to link her arm with his.

“It’s okay, Ed, I was very happy last night,” Monica said, glancing at Julia unintentionally or perhaps intentionally, the smile on her lips seductive. “I believe I made you happy too, so let’s go down for breakfast now.”

“Hmm… sure, you can get dressed first…”

“No need, just like this. I think going down for breakfast like this and strolling in the garden under the morning light is delightful,” Monica said, casting another glance at Julia, her eyes filled with undisguised disdain and provocation.

Julia, already breathing rapidly, felt her chest rise and fall even more intensely. After biting her lip, she boldly stood up naked and walked over to Adrian, grabbing his other arm.

“I don’t mind,” she said, lifting her chin and looking at Monica.

Sharing breakfast with two undeniably beautiful, naked women was indeed wonderful. Of course, it was all premeditated. Monica did a great job with just a few sentences successfully provoking Julia, showing her innate talent for this, even though they were constantly at odds.

Women are just like that, naturally more emotional than men, thus more sensitive and expressive about comparisons. They act impulsively, fixated on outdoing each other without considering anything else, just as it was happening now.

As time went on, Monica’s and Julia’s verbal sparring became more intense. Monica initially guided the conversation consciously, but soon she too got genuinely infuriated by Julia’s veiled sharp words, making it greatly advantageous for Adrian who spent the whole Sunday enjoying various pleasantries from both women. Of course, conflicts would sometimes escalate, like–

“I completely understand your needs, Monica, after all, you are… thirty years old, right?” Julia said with a smile, her smirk mocking. “Sorry, I might not remember clearly, maybe you’re thirty-two?”

“We are alike,” Monica coldly retorted. “You are only three years younger than me, Julia. You’re at an awkward age where you seem mature compared to younger girls, but you’re not quite charming compared to me.”

What a passionate weekend it had been; Adrian hoped for a few seconds before falling asleep hugged by both women that the weekend wouldn’t end. Of course, that was impossible. Monday was around the corner, work had to continue, so reluctantly, he got up early to drive Julia and Monica back to Los Angeles.

Julia didn’t speak the whole ride, and although her face was expressionless, she didn’t greet anyone and just went inside the house after getting out of the car.

“She seems to have noticed something,” Monica said, her breath tingling Adrian’s ear from behind.

“So what?” Adrian laughed heartily and turned to kiss her seductive lips. “Should I thank you, Monica?”

“No need, as long as you enjoyed it.” Monica winked, her eyes seemingly sparkling.

“I did enjoy it,” Adrian pinched her chin and said meaningfully.

As delightful as the weekend had been, what had to pass, passed. The filming of “Forrest Gump” was nearly complete. After spending about three days in the studio finishing up the remaining scenes, Adrian immediately flew to New York.
