Shooting animals that attacked civilians, breaking up fights, incapacitating criminals who looted, and reporting their locations over the radio, while requesting police cars and ambulances in certain locations. Several times, she even stopped to give first aid to people injured in the middle of the riots, realizing that the paramedics were also stuck in traffic. Even after taking a civilian’s motorcycle claiming it was an emergency, Valentina only arrived at the police station when there were 30 minutes left until the mission deadline.

They both paused as they walked and looked at the camera, smiling. Then Oyibo sat down outside, and Kaito walked alone into the Muroni hideout.

The detective then sped up the video, and 10 minutes later, Kaito came out of the place with a bloody katana. He waved his hand, making the murder weapon disappear. He joined his subordinate as they walked out of the place calmly.

Valentina clenched her fists, and her eyes showed uncontrollable fury. This person not only committed a massacre, but he also didn’t seem to care about being seen committing such a crime. Remembering the smile the two gave to the cameras before the crime was committed made the new Captain even angrier.

The young detective took the tablet from her hand and swallowed hard, he had never seen his boss so furious.

"Issue an arrest warrant for multiple homicides for Kaito Hattori and Oyibo. I want their faces all over the newspapers!"

"Yes, Captain, we are overwhelmed at the moment, but I already sent an alert to all our men before you even arrived. But I told them not to act alone if they find the suspects."

Arriving in the basement, she opened the door to the Armory using her father’s card and went to a place where there were several experimental and prohibited items. Most of them could only be used in emergencies due to their high lethality and possible hidden dangers to the wearers. Among them was a huge blue shield with the symbol of the Aethoria Police. This shield was a prototype, made with the intention of absorbing large amounts of impact using the new space technology that the Jyreans developed.

After reading all the details of the new shield and feeling disgusted by the origin of the crystal she swallowed, Valentina armed herself with a better vest, accessories, and weapons from the Arsenal. She also put on her new bracelet several items that the optional missions requested, including many radios and electronics. Then she returned to the ground floor of the police station, coordinating several police officers to go there to gear up. With 10 minutes left until the system’s deadline, she was about to go up to the roof of the police station and get the Quantum Transmission Antenna, when a deafening explosion happened outside the police station.

A loud fire alarm went off, and several windows of the police station on the first, second, and third floors exploded. Valentina ran along with several police officers to the scene of the explosion. But they found nothing at the scene, not even injured people. Finding the situation strange, it was then that her instincts turned back to the police station.

She ran out, and when she saw that the elevator had made an emergency stop on the floor of the armory. She gritted her teeth and used the stairs to quickly get there. Inside the Armory, Valentina saw several police officers lying on the floor, while the police’s most wanted criminal reached for one of the prohibited prototypes.

Drawing his pistol out of habit, before she could shoot Kaito, the man made the item he was stealing disappear into thin air; in his hand now was a katana with a black and gold handle. With short, quick movements, he avoided the first shot, shortened the distance between them, and made a strike, pointing his blade directly at Valentina’s neck.

Valentina gave up on the gun and jumped back to avoid being decapitated by Kaito. Her eyes widened, this man had tried to kill her, if it weren’t for her new improved level 2 body, she would have perished here...

Kaito’s eyes closed even more, as he looked in surprise, then he took a grenade from his belt and threw it towards several police officers lying on the ground.

"NO!!!"

Valentina screamed, gave up on Kaito, and ran towards the police officers lying on the ground, removing her shield and trying to withstand the explosion of the grenade. But after almost 5 seconds, the grenade still hadn’t exploded. When she removed the shield from the way, she saw that the grenade still had the detonator pin.

"SON OF A BITCH!"

As she screamed angrily, she already realized that Kaito used this as a distraction to escape...
