Bodhisattva Guanyin stood with one hand raised in respect, and said solemnly, "Your Majesty, today the demonic sect attacked the Heavenly Court, and Luo Tian’s hand reached into the Three Realms. It is evident that the demonic path is growing stronger, and the Luo Tian Seal under Mount Ling may not hold much longer; it urgently requires the destiny of the Human Race to suppress it.

The Buddha wishes to ask whether the promotion of Buddhism is feasible?"

The Jade Emperor’s eyes shimmered like the milky way as he asked, "How would you promote Buddhism?"

Bodhisattva Guanyin replied, "The Buddha says it requires two individuals capable of carrying the destiny of the Human Race for the scripture journey, to transmit the Mahayana Buddhist Law to the land of Nan Zhan Bu Zhou where the destiny of the Human Race gathers.

One is Jia Ye, the second disciple seated under the Buddha, and the other is the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Sun Wukong,

Once their mission is accomplished, both shall gain immeasurable merit and may obtain the Buddha’s fruit position."

The Jade Emperor then asked, "Is there no other way?"

Jia Ye answered, "After long deliberation, the Three Buddhas all agreed that this is the best method for the propagation of Buddhism."

The Jade Emperor said, "But from beginning to end, none of you have asked for Sun Wukong’s opinion."

Guanyin and Jia Ye both fell silent. How could they ask that? Even the denizens of Mount Ling were kept in the dark about Golden Cicada, let alone Sun Wukong.

The Jade Emperor smiled, "Why don’t you ask him now?"

As his voice fell, Sun Wukong walked out from the rear hall.

The expressions of Guanyin and Jia Ye changed immediately.

Sun Wukong’s face was full of defiance, "Just as His Majesty said, have you ever asked for Old Sun’s opinion?"

Guanyin spoke gravely, "Whatever the opinion may be, the Luo Tian Seal is vital to the survival of the Three Realms, and all beings should be bound by duty."

"Heh, duty bound?" Sun Wukong sneered coldly, "Old Sun has always been fighting against the demon cults, when have I ever retreated?
