Chapter 118: All Because of Sun Wukong
Chapter 118: Chapter 118: All Because of Sun Wukong
The terrifying aura dispelled the dense fog surrounding Youdu from all sides, and the black sea waters stirred into shocking waves.
The Martial Emperor let his hair flow freely, manifesting the enormous form of a turtle and snake, with an invisible suppression that seemed capable of subduing all demons.
He took several steps in the void, moving forward to unleash a sword strike, the grand sword light carrying tumultuous floods as it rained down on his opponent.
"This man!" Moluo’s expression turned grave. The Martial Emperor gave him the impression of someone born to vanquish demons and subdue evil—a true Nine Heavens Demon-Subduing Grandmaster.
But, as a Demon Sect’s Demon Lord, he was, of course, fearless. Holding the Black Light Sword in hand, his body wreathed in Demonic Flame, he let out a roar that pierced the heavens, shattering the sword light and torrents unleashed by the Martial Emperor.
Then, the two of them clashed fiercely in the high sky, now intertwining sword lights, now altering manifestations of Divine Skills.
The savage breath of Quasi-Saints clashing endlessly whirled through the void, with lightning like dragons and thunder rolling continuously—the dark world displayed a scene of impending destruction.
In the blink of an eye, they collided millions of times, yet victory still remained elusive for either.
Ultimately, Moluo became anxious.
This wasn’t like last time on the Ice and Fire Island, where he could leave whenever he wished.
Beneath them, Youdu Mountain, was the Demon Sect’s capital he had been cultivating for many years, not to mention the vast treasures he had accumulated—the demonic soldiers he had been recruiting and training for years were almost all there.
And the current situation was clearly the Heavenly Court targeting the Demon Sect through the All-Saints Dragon King and the Nine-Headed Insect.
If he got bogged down here, years of his efforts might be in vain.
"I don’t have much time left. If this plan fails and I lose years of accumulation, it will be even harder in the future!" Moluo was both anxious and angry.
But now, as the prolonged battle remained indecisive, his adversary’s strength seemed bottomless. No matter how powerful the moves he unleashed, they were all withstood by the Martial Emperor.
Thinking of this, Moluo thrust out another sword strike. While battling fiercely with the Martial Emperor, he glanced at the Monkey King, who was engaged in a fierce battle with the black-robed Lu Ya.
Only now did he genuinely realize what it meant by ’the monkey signifies both my rise and my fall’!
Previously, through smuggling and plundering, the Demon Sect had painstakingly gathered Heavenly Weapons and magical treasures, all of which had been intercepted by Sun Wukong.
Latterly, the Spirit Guiding Instrument, invented by Sun Wukong, emerged, but those fools in the Heavenly Court failed to obtain the crafting method, and in the end, the Demon Sect also lost their way to obtain Heavenly Weapons.
This time, he was on the brink of unlocking the Eye of the Northern Sea in cooperation with the ancient Demon Clan, and just as his years of planning were about to succeed, Sun Wukong once again spoiled the plot!
"Damn it!" Moluo was furious, tasting yet another of the Martial Emperor’s sword strikes, as his spilled Demonic Blood set the sea below ablaze.
His hate stemmed from the unpredictable situation. Ever since he had taken in the Six-Eared Macaque and slain the Chaos Demon King, destroyed the Dragon Palace, and thrown the Underworld into disarray, he had hoped that as Sun Wukong’s evil thoughts grew, the Six-Eared Macaque would become stronger and spawn more Demonic Thoughts to aid his endeavor.
Yet contrary to expectations, this stone monkey, whose desires and ambitions should have been swelling, never harbored great evil thoughts after ascending to Heaven, with righteous intentions dominating almost everything.
This caused the gap between the Six-Ear and Sun Wukong’s original form to grow ever larger.
In the beginning, the Six-Eared Macaque’s power was comparable to that of Sun Wukong, mastering the same Laws and Divine Skills.
But as time went by, the Six-Eared Macaque found it increasingly difficult to gain any abilities from the original.
Otherwise, the Demon Sect wouldn’t have needed to resort to Chan Teaching disciples to obtain the method for crafting Spirit Guiding Instruments.
"It’s all Sun Wukong’s fault. Otherwise, I would have succeeded by now!" Moluo felt helpless frustration.
However, he ultimately knew the gravity of the situation; surviving the present crisis was of the utmost importance.
Seeing the Nine Heavens Demon-Subduing Grandmaster charging with murderous intent, without a word, just striking continuously, Moluo said, "Man, you too are a Quasi-Saint, an apex being of this realm,
have you never wondered if there’s something wrong with this world?
Immortals aren’t like immortals, Buddhas don’t resemble Buddhas, no justice exists, righteousness is nowhere to be found."
"I only know that the demons that harm others must be utterly eradicated," the Martial Emperor said with authority, his tortoise-snake manifestation silently roaring.
"Don’t you want to know the true face of this world?" Moluo asked with an angry look of indignation.
"What I see is the reality," the Martial Emperor replied, his expression unchanged, with one hand radiating divine light, performing the Subduing Demon Stamp Technique, and with the other hand mana surged, scattering torrents of sword light.
The surrounding void trembled as if to pour out boundless floodwaters.
"Foolish, utterly foolish!" Moluo, seeing his opponent unmoved by either soft or hard tactics, became incensed, issuing a terrifying Demon Roar, and angrily exclaimed, "Demon Emperor’s child, if not now, when will you take action!"
It was supposed to be a cooperative endeavor between the two parties, and they were meant to share the consequences, whether in success or failure, but at this point, Lu Ya was still lurking and hiding, allowing his Demon Sect to suffer.
Meanwhile, the black-robed Lu Ya was locked in a fight with Sun Wukong, too evenly matched to disengage.
Tremendous shadows of the staff and black sword light collided constantly, their imposing aura sweeping in all directions.
Upon hearing Moluo’s thunderous roar, the black-robed Lu Ya frowned, displeased.
"Things won’t go well at this rate!"
This was Moluo’s current impression of him.
But he knew that he had to take action; if they allowed the Heavenly Court to annihilate the Demon Sect, then the ancient Demon Clan of Xuanqiu Mountain might very well be the next target of the Heavenly Court.
"Hmph, I shall spare your life for now," the black-robed Lu Ya said, looking down at Sun Wukong as if from a great height, no longer intending to entangle with him.
"Old crow, if you can’t defeat me, just admit it; yet you dare to look at me with such eyes?" Sun Wukong’s eyes gleamed fiercely.
A mere wicked corpse incarnation, he didn’t take it seriously at all.
His Great Luo mana and the power of the staff’s Laws surged forth, even more vigorous than before.
The Ruyi Jingu Bang swung in rapid succession, turning into streaks of staff shadows like dragons, stirring up everything and making it difficult for the black-robed Lu Ya to extricate himself.
"I have already spared you once, don’t persist in this pestering!" the black-robed Lu Ya said, his gaze cold, yet he did not move an inch, allowing the myriad of staff shadows to strike him.
"Hm?" Sun Wukong’s expression changed, sensing something.
But before he could look, he saw a golden rainbow coming from the west, piercing through the thick fog of the Northern Darkness, and in almost an instant, crossing the vast mountains and seas, arriving above this sea area.
Boom, boom, boom!
The rainbow pierced the sun like a fierce sun itself, emitting blinding divine light, shattering Sun Wukong’s numerous staff shadows.
When all had settled, the rainbow dissipated, revealing a grey-robed Taoist with a gourd hanging at his waist, whose appearance was indistinguishable from that of the black-robed Lu Ya, yet his aura was entirely different.
One was tranquil, the other was evil.
The grey-robed Lu Ya first looked into the distance, only to see Sun Wukong had already turned into a beam of golden light, leaving the area.
However, he had no intention to pursue Sun Wukong and instead shifted his gaze toward the intense battle between the Martial Emperor and Moluo.
On the other side, Sun Wukong was relieved and even pleased, "Hehe, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time, old crow."
The one with a gourd at his waist was the true Lu Ya Daoist, a mighty Quasi-Saint who had made a remarkable record in the Divine Enthronement war!
At the same time, a golden light flashed across the sky above the North Sea, traversing tens of thousands of miles of void in an instant, appearing in the Northern Darkness, also a golden-armored Monkey King.
Sun Wukong’s eyes surged with divine light, just as the black-robed Lu Ya and the grey-robed Lu Ya looked identical; this golden-armored monkey king also bore an uncanny resemblance to him, Sun Wukong.
The long-absent Six-Eared Macaque had finally appeared!
