Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Advice System
Chapter 110: The Leak in the North Sea, Uncle Niu

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Leak in the North Sea, Uncle Niu

Does the demonic cult’s scheme have something to do with the North Sea Eye?

Sun Wukong was delighted, having not expected to actually get an answer, but it turned out that the senior netizens on Zhi Hu had guessed correctly—the Eternal Dragon King truly was a member of the demonic cult!

Unfortunately, this old dragon spirit didn’t know the specific plans of the demonic cult.

"What is the North Sea Eye?" Sun Wukong asked again.

"I wouldn’t dare deceive the Great Sage; it’s not a hidden place at all," the Eternal Dragon King quickly said. "It’s a forbidden abyss in the center of the Northern Darkness, existing since the Primordial Era. It’s immensely vast, and it’s said that no creature that has gone in has ever come back."

"Yet one did come back," said the Demon King. "During the battle of Divine Enthronement, Shen Gongbao, a second-generation disciple of the Chan Teaching, was punished for repeatedly disobeying the Saint’s decrees and was cast into the North Sea Eye.

But in the end, during the Divine Enthronement, Shen Gongbao was appointed as the General Who Divides the Waters of the East Sea.

Of course, it was only his Primordial Spirit that returned; his flesh is still filling the North Sea Eye."

"Hmm, it seems there is something down there." A gleam flashed in Sun Wukong’s eyes.

"That’s a secret, I’m not sure either," the Demon King shook his head. "But it is said that the North Sea Eye was always leaking water, and if it were not plugged, all the waters of the four seas would have drained, leaving no rivers or lakes on the land."

"So are you saying that the demonic cult wants to reopen the North Sea Eye and bring disaster to the Three Realms?" Sun Wukong scratched his face thoughtfully. "And that the Cangyun Blood Spirit Stone and the ancient stele of the fox clan can help them open the North Sea Eye?"

"That’s a possibility," the Demon King said solemnly, knowing too well that when the nest is overturned, no egg remains intact. If that really was the demonic cult’s plan, then they must make every effort to prevent it.

Sun Wukong nodded, but this was just a guess; whether it was true remained unknown.

Moreover, the Listening Persuasion System had not alerted him that he had completed the suggestion.

Clearly, he still needed to figure out the true purpose of the Cangyun Blood Spirit Stone and the ancient fox clan stele.

With this in mind, Sun Wukong asked the Eternal Dragon King once more.

The Eternal Dragon King sighed grievously: "Great King Sun, my sins are greater than a death sentence; now that I’ve been given a chance at reincarnation, how could I dare to conceal anything?"

"Hmm, looks like it’s down to the old fox," a shrewd glint sparkled in Sun Wukong’s lively eyes.

He then collected both the Nine-Headed Insect and the Eternal Dragon King into the Creation Cauldron and continued on his way to Mount Ji Lei.

Heading south, he soon saw a tall mountain touching the skies in the distance.

Approaching, he saw indeed a majestic mountain, with warmth from the sun at the front and cold winds behind the ridge.

There were deep dragon pools, waterfalls flowing endlessly, flowers blooming in vibrant colors, and verdant bamboo and willows flourishing lushly.

To be the king of such a place, one naturally couldn’t be a simple character.

Arriving above Mount Ji Lei, the two lords descended from the clouds and sought a path through the deep mountains.

The Demon King cautioned, "Younger brother, though the Eternal Fox King has not attained the Immortal Fruit of eternal life, he has lived many years by cultivating some special technique, witnessed seas turn to mulberry fields, and can truly be regarded as experienced and well-informed. We should not underestimate him later and lose our manners."

Sun Wukong scratched his head and laughed, "Don’t worry, don’t worry. When has old Sun ever lost his manners?"

He said this, but he did not point out the Demon King’s ulterior motive.

According to what the netizens on Zhi Hu had said before, the Demon King was later taken as a son-in-law by the Princess with the Jade Face of the Accumulated Thunder Mountain, Cloud-Piercing Cave, with an enormous dowry.

The Princess with the Jade Face was the daughter of the Eternal Fox King, and by the time the Demon King married in, the old fox was obviously already dead.

But now that the old fox was still alive, the Demon King’s current warning not to lose manners suggested that he had already set his sights on the little fox, which is why he was paying extra attention to these superficial matters.

Amid their casual conversation, they suddenly noticed a young maiden by the roadside ahead, a cardamom age girl carrying a bamboo basket, hopping and picking immortal flowers and fruits.

Upon closer inspection, they found that the girl was truly beautiful, a beauty in the making. Though still young, she already had the looks that could topple nations, and between her rosy lips and glistening teeth, she spoke as fluently as flowers and exuded an aroma as sweet as jade.

As the two kings approached, the girl lifted her head to see two figures in the pine forest, got startled, and retreated two steps, trembling with fear.

"Little Yuer, don’t be afraid, it’s me, your Uncle Niu," said the Demon King, advancing with a smile and a welcoming expression.

Wukong, looking on from the side, held back his laughter. Heh, so the old bull is fancying the young grass!

"Uncle Niu?" Recognizing who it was, the Princess with a Jade Face let out a sigh of relief and, moving gracefully, said, "Uncle Niu, you have just left not long ago, why have you returned?"

"There’s something else I need to ask your father. Is he still inside the cave?" the Demon King asked with a smile.

"He is, he is," the Princess with a Jade Face nodded repeatedly and turned to lead the way with a brisk trot.

The Demon King paid no more attention to Wukong and, calling for the princess to slow down, followed her with a heart full of springtime emotions.

"Hey, this brutish ox turns out to be one who forsakes his friends at the sight of beauty," Wukong muttered with a laugh and a curse.

Passing through another patch of pine shade, they arrived at the entrance to Cloud-Piercing Cave. The scene was shrouded in mist and dazzling splendor, a truly blessed land of a heavenly cave.

The old fox inside the cave had already received word from his minions that there were visitors, and he came out with a walking stick to greet them.

"You old ox, how many times have I told you? That stele cannot be given to you. Why do you insist on pestering me?" the Eternal Fox King confronted him directly.

"Old fox, I didn’t say that I’ve come for your stone stele this time," the Demon King replied with a smile.

The face of the Eternal Fox King softened, and he looked toward Wukong, "I have yet to inquire, who might this Monkey King be?"

"Old Fox has been courteous," Wukong replied with a laugh and a bow, "I am Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, currently serving as the Earthly Fiends Marshal in the Heavenly Court under the Jade Emperor."

"It turns out a higher immortal has arrived; I did not greet you from afar, please forgive me," the Eternal Fox King said with a start, hurriedly greeting Wukong with deep respect. He invited Wukong to take a seat of honor inside and had the Princess with a Jade Face serve him tea and water.

"This old fox is really an opportunist. The old ox has come so many times and never enjoyed such treatment," grumbled the Demon King with dissatisfaction.

The Eternal Fox King huffed and instructed the Princess with a Jade Face to bring a cup of water over to the Demon King as well.

Content, the Demon King beamed with no more grievances.

"Old Fox, Wukong has come on behalf of the Heavenly Court to inquire about the secrets behind the ancient fox tribe’s stele, and I hope you can generously share your knowledge." Wukong stated his purpose directly.

The Eternal Fox King’s expression turned serious. He was aware of the sworn brotherhood among the seven kings of the demon world and had heard of the esteemed name and official position of the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Sun Wukong. However, out of caution, he still asked for something to prove Wukong’s identity to ensure he wasn’t being deceived by the Demon King bringing someone at random.

"Please forgive me, Marshal, for such matters are of great importance; I must take precautions," the Eternal Fox King said earnestly.

"Wukong doesn’t stoop to deception," laughed Wukong as he took out the Ruyi Jingu Bang and also presented the seal of the Earthly Fiends Marshal of the Heavenly Court, "If you still don’t believe me, you can accompany me to the Heavenly Court and speak directly to His Majesty the Jade Emperor."

"How could I doubt the sincerity of Marshal Sha?" the Eternal Fox King was reassured. Then he said, "The matter which the Marshal has inquired about, I shall indeed disclose truthfully."

At hearing this, Wukong became even more delighted and expressed his thanks with a bow.

However, the Demon King was left feeling introspective. His repeated attempts to inquire about and request the ancient stele of the fox tribe had been met with evasion and firm refusal from the Eternal Fox King.

He had not expected that as soon as Wukong revealed his identity as the Earthly Fiends Marshal of the Heavenly Court, the old fox sung like a canary.

This made the Demon King yearn even more for an immortal status.
