Journey to the West: Great Saint Equal to Heaven -
Chapter 75 - 75 75 Do as You Wish
75: Chapter 75: Do as You Wish 75: Chapter 75: Do as You Wish Two temples, much larger than this one, were newly built, both dedicated to the Great Sage Temple.
The incense visitors here were still numerous, and Sun Wukong had displayed a bit of his mana at each site.
Some cultivators who had just begun their cultivation were also present, and after being nourished by the mana, their strength improved.
They were very excited, knowing that this temple truly housed the sacred, and they paid their utmost respects to Sun Wukong.
The common folk were all stunned, for among these cultivators, many were quite famous within thousands of miles, true “Immortal Masters.”
Yet such Immortal Masters were worshipping the Great Saint.
With the divine feats just demonstrated, they immediately became staunch loyalists of the Great Sage Equalling Heaven.
They had worshipped other celestial immortals before, but to no avail; though they had offered plenty of incense, it had never manifested any miracles.
“Ksitigarbha, come forth,”
the Great Sage Equalling Heaven called out.
Ksitigarbha emerged from the void.
Lu Dongbin and the others were taken aback.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva wasn’t dead?
Fahai’s heart trembled, and he hurried forward to salute the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, “Fahai pays his respects to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled and looked at Fahai with deep admiration.
“You are very good, having someone like you in the Buddhist Sect is fortunate for us.”
Fahai had recently made a name for himself in the Three Realms and had gained some minor fame.
Receiving praise from Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Fahai was very excited.
He scratched his bald head, not even knowing how to respond.
Then, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s gaze fell on Lu Dongbin, smiling and said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you, my fellow immortal.
Your grace remains the same.”
Lu Dongbin politely replied, “Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is also as graceful as ever.
Recently, when I heard that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had been slain by a demon, Dongbin was saddened for a long time.
Today, seeing Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva unharmed, Dongbin is greatly relieved.”
Of the four great Bodhisattvas, two are most revered by the people.
One is the Guanyin Bodhisattva of the South Sea, the saver from suffering; the other is this very Bodhisattva who vows not to attain Buddhahood until Hell is empty, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Even the immortals of the Heavenly Court hold them in high esteem.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva gave a slight smile; his feigned death to escape did not embarrass him.
Possessing a useful body, he planned to live on, doing more meaningful deeds.
Finally, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s gaze rested on Bai Yu.
“You are also a descendant of an old friend.
I had the fortune to meet your master, Lord of the White Cloud Cave, a few times, and I greatly admire him,”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said with a smile.
Only then did Sun Wukong and the others learn of Bai Yu’s lineage.
All along, they had known that Bai Yu was no ordinary Demon King.
Although he was a demon, he cultivated the Immortal Clan’s Dharma, and his swordsmanship supernatural powers were astonishing.
It turned out he was actually a disciple of Lord of the White Cloud Cave, Elder Yuan.
Lord of the White Cloud Cave, Elder Yuan, a disciple of the Mysterious Lady of the Nine Heavens, possessed considerable mana and swordsmanship cultivation.
Bai Yu exclaimed in surprise, “I often hear my master speak of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, always in words of admiration.”
Sun Wukong interjected, clearly irritable, “Alright, enough with the mutual flattery.
My teeth are almost sour from it.”
Bai Yu felt a bit awkward; he had only uttered formalities.
His master, Lord of the White Cloud Cave, had never mentioned Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Sun Wukong stared at Ksitigarbha, questioning, “What exactly do you want Old Sun to do?
With your divine skills and wisdom, you must know what Tathagata is up to.
Yet you strongly promote the Great Sage Temple.
Do you want me to take opposing roles with Tathagata?”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled faintly and said, “I merely wish to protect the living beings.
As for what the Tathagata intends, I do not wish to involve myself.
I just want to use the Great Sage Temple as an excuse to protect more living beings.
In the Three Realms, only the Great Saint founding a sect would not be feared by the Immortals and Buddhas of the realms; they would rather fear the Great Saint and not dare to act against him.”
“Indeed, the Heavenly Court does not want to offend the Great Saint, as they might push the Great Saint to side with the Buddhist Realm, and the Buddhist Realm also wouldn’t provoke the Great Saint over this matter.
Most would turn a blind eye.”
Lu Dongbin nodded in understanding.
He held some admiration for Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Being able to consider this point and use Sun Wukong’s name to protect living beings was definitely not a problem.
The main thing was that Sun Wukong had also received the Power of Incense and Fire; the only cost was his reputation.
Seeing that everyone appeared to understand.
Sun Wukong sneered, “You really believed his words, how foolish.
It’s true that he wants to protect living beings, but he also wants to drag Old Sun into the water.
Currently, the number of my followers is small and won’t cause any conflicts, but with Ksitigarbha’s rate of expansion, it won’t be long before it provokes the dissatisfaction of the Immortals and Buddhas, and by then, it will be impossible for Old Sun to stay out of it.”
Lu Dongbin and the others suddenly awoke from a dream.
For the Immortals and Buddhas, the Power of Incense and Fire is also a cultivation resource.
Of course, having a vast amount of the Power of Incense and Fire doesn’t necessarily mean one can become a master.
But the influence of the Power of Incense and Fire on cultivation is obvious.
However, true adepts of the Immortal Dao, who are Immortal Gods, are reluctant to cling to the Power of Incense and Fire.
With that energy, they would rather comprehend the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth and truly elevate their cultivation.
But if someone becomes overly conspicuous and takes a large number of followers, it will also provoke those Immortal Gods.
If Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is allowed to expand the range of the Great Sage Temple, the ultimate result will be that Sun Wukong will inevitably confront those Immortals and Buddhas.
“Is the Great Saint afraid?
If they want to trouble the Great Saint, they must first get through this old monk, what do you think?”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled faintly.
Sun Wukong stared at him, and he coldly asked, “Why must you do this?”
“If I don’t enter hell, who will?”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva clasped his hands together, his face compassionate.
Sun Wukong looked deeply at him, snorted coldly, and then condensed an aureole, which he gave to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
“Proceed according to your plan.”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s face showed joy, he slightly bowed to Sun Wukong and earnestly said, “Great Saint is compassionate.”
Sun Wukong curled his lip, sneeringly said, “The truly compassionate one is you.
If Tathagata had your heart, Old Sun might not mind helping him, what a pity.”
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled faintly.
If Tathagata had his kind of nature, he also wouldn’t have become Buddha.
Buddha is not just about compassion.
It depends on what position you hold and what actions you take.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva left.
Lu Dongbin asked, “Great Saint, aren’t you worried about conflict with the myriad Immortals and Buddhas?”
“What do you think?”
Seeing Sun Wukong’s coldly sneering demeanor, Lu Dongbin immediately understood.
Sun Wukong naturally wasn’t afraid, the title Great Sage Equalling Heaven wasn’t for nothing.
“You guys go back first, or group together for experience, I still have some matters to attend to.”
After Sun Wukong spoke, he left without waiting for their response.
Lu Dongbin and the others looked at each other.
“Travel in groups?”
Lu Dongbin asked.
Fahai nodded and said, “Now that the Three Realms are chaotic, it’s slightly safer for the three of us to walk together.”
Bai Yu was speechless.
Are all Immortals and Buddhas so cautious?
A formidable Celestial Immortal in the Three Realms is considered a top master, who would dare to provoke a Celestial Immortal?
The fact that the two wanted to travel in groups left Bai Yu speechless to the extreme.
Going live on the morning of the first of July; after going live, guaranteeing thirty thousand a day.
