Journey to the West: Great Saint Equal to Heaven -
Chapter 43 - 43 43 The Two Sages Slay the Demon King
43: Chapter 43 The Two Sages Slay the Demon King 43: Chapter 43 The Two Sages Slay the Demon King Countless demon people surged forward, and Sun Wukong sneered, his Jingu Bang enlarging in his hand as he swept through them in one go.
With one swing of his staff, tens of thousands of demon people were killed.
Some say Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang only weighs thirteen thousand five hundred catties; how could it possibly crush so many demon people to death in one blow.
What they overlooked is that Sun Wukong had also imbued it with mana.
Moreover, how strong is Sun Wukong?
He once shouldered Mount Sumeru and Mount Emei, and it was only when Mount Tai pressed down on him that he reached his limit.
Let’s not talk about Mount Emei and Mount Tai for now.
How tall is Mount Sumeru?
It’s said that Mount Sumeru rises above the water for eighty-four thousand yojanas and extends the same distance beneath the surface, with one yojana equal to twenty-six miles.
Sun Wukong could bear Mount Sumeru plus Mount Emei and still move freely; one can imagine the magnitude of his strength.
With such strength swinging the Jingu Bang, even without mana, it’s not something that ordinary living beings can withstand.
“Boxun, your demon offspring and grandchildren can’t stop us; come out and face your death.”
Sun Wukong said coldly.
A demon shadow emerged at the end of the horizon, watching Sun Wukong.
“I have hundreds of millions of demon offspring and grandchildren; unless you can kill them all, don’t think you can force me to surrender.”
Sun Wukong’s gaze fell on Immortal Master Erlang.
“Brother, let’s join forces and slay this Demon Head.”
A glint flashed in Immortal Master Erlang’s eyes as he said, “Good.”
Two top-tier War Gods charged forward.
The demon people couldn’t stop them at all; they weren’t a match for Sun Wukong and Master Erlang combined.
In an extremely short amount of time, they reached Boxun.
“Attack.”
Boxun sat on his throne, letting out a cold laugh.
Three demonesses appeared, each so stunningly beautiful that it was heart-stopping.
Clad in revealing attire and with exquisite figures, they twisted their bodies in front of Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang.
A unique Dao Rhyme emanated from them, irresistibly drawing the attention of anyone who witnessed, tempting them to indulge.
These were the three daughters of Lord Boxun.
They personified lust, joy, and greed.
Once, they were sent to seduce the Buddha but ended in failure.
Now they reappeared to launch an assault on Sun Wukong and his companion.
A sword, a staff.
A flash.
Blood erupted between heaven and earth; only joy was left standing there, looking at Sun Wukong and his companion, too frightened to move.
Then, she received special treatment.
Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang joined forces to explode joy into pieces.
The three great demonesses, completely vanished.
Boxun was furious; with a wave of his hand, a poison snake appeared, coiling on his left side.
On his right, a Poison Dragon appeared, glaring maliciously at Sun Wukong and his companion.
“Kill them,” said Boxun, pointing at them.
The poison snake and the Poison Dragon charged simultaneously.
Their massive bodies, as large as mountains, carried a putrid scent that made one want to vomit.
Some demons, too close to them, instantly turned into thick water.
And some of the Heavenly Soldiers were also staggering.
Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang exchanged glances; these two beasts were terribly poisonous.
Unafraid, they charged forward.
Both being saints in the flesh and relying on Mysterious Skill, they faced such poisons with indifference.
Sun Wukong confronted the poison snake, his Jingu Bang smashing down and causing the snake to cry out in agony.
In its cold snake eyes, there was nothing but terror.
Its own venom had no effect whatsoever on Sun Wukong.
The Poison Dragon felt the same way.
Their true strength, naturally, was not comparable to Sun Wukong’s and Immortal Master Erlang’s, they relied solely on the toxins in their bodies.
Who would have thought that their toxins would not affect the two of them at all?
These two poisonous creatures were just unlucky.
Had it been other deities, even a Heavenly Venerate would not wish to come into contact with their poisons.
But Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang possessed saintly physical bodies, and the toxins did not faze them in the slightest.
In just a few dozen breaths of time, the two toxic creatures were killed by Sun Wukong and his companions.
The two top war gods of the Three Realms pressed closely towards Lord Boxun.
They didn’t have any complacency in their hearts.
Lord Boxun was a match for Tathagata and was actually at the level of a Heavenly Venerate himself.
Sun Wukong and his partner had unrivalled combat power, but were only at the peak of Celestial Immortal, standing at the threshold of Heavenly Venerate, not quite there yet.
Neither of them, alone, could be sure of defeating Lord Boxun.
Only by joining forces did they stand a chance.
Lord Boxun stood up, his eyes dark and chilly.
He glanced at Amitabha Buddha and, seeing no movement from him, Boxun couldn’t help but let out a sneer.
Amitabha Buddha knew what he meant; he was despising him for not taking action.
He brought his hands together in prayer, ignoring Lord Boxun’s disdainful expression.
As the founder of the Buddhist Sect, his expertise in maintaining a thick skin was quite in place.
“This King stands here, and you think you can defeat me just by yourselves?
You vastly underestimate me, only if the Great Emperor Ziwei personally steps in will you have a chance, not the two of you,” he declared.
Lord Boxun stood with his hands behind him, in front of his throne, looking down at Sun Wukong and Master Erlang.
In response to him was a powerful strike from Sun Wukong’s staff,
Six Demon Hooks appeared beside Boxun, one of which blocked Sun Wukong’s staff.
Mana and Demonic Qi collided between them, unleashing turbulent forces.
Boxun staggered back half a step, and so did Sun Wukong, who also took half a step back.
This strike ended in a stalemate.
Boxun’s expression changed slightly; Sun Wukong’s strength was truly terrifying.
In a one-on-one fight, he was not confident he could defeat Sun Wukong.
The top war god of the Three Realms was indeed well-deserving of his reputation.
How strong then was Master Erlang, who could defeat Sun Wukong?
A sense of foreboding suddenly surged in Boxun’s heart.
Divine Light flashed in Immortal Master Erlang’s eyes as he brought his Three-pointed Double-edged Sword down, employing no techniques but an impressive explosion of mana within.
Another of Boxun’s hands controlled a Demon Hook, which also blocked the attack.
As their mana clashed, both felt a stirring of blood within them.
This strike was also a draw.
Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang were evenly matched in strength.
Next, the two attacked at the same time.
The first strike was to gauge the enemy’s capability.
Now, the true battle began.
Their attacks landed on Lord Boxun almost simultaneously.
He used two Demon Hooks to parry their attacks, and the other four Demon Hooks, under his control, aimed to harm the two.
Unfortunately, things did not go as he wished.
Lord Boxun was directly blasted away.
One against two.
It was unrealistic.
He couldn’t even manage to remain undefeated, let alone entertain thoughts of victory.
When two top war gods teamed up, even a Heavenly Venerate could be easily suppressed.
Demon King Boxun’s mouth leaked blood; he was injured.
Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang continued their onslaught, intent on capturing the Demon King.
After withstanding a dozen or so of their attacks, Demon King Boxun was already bone-weary and utterly exhausted, his mana completely depleted, no match for the combined might of the two.
“Save me.”
Boxun shouted.
Suddenly, a ray of Buddha’s Light appeared, landing in front of Sun Wukong and Immortal Master Erlang, blocking their attack.
