Chapter 58: Worry about yourself first, Hyung

Chapter 58: Worry about yourself first, Hyung

We were standing on the sidewalk, and people were walking past us, but at that moment, when I was completely confused, it felt like we were the only one present, and everywhere was silent.

I thought that sort of scene only happens when the MC gets proposed to. The world becomes slow, heartbeats become clearer, and it feels like they’re the only ones on the planet, standing across each other.

In any case, forget romantic settings and whatnot, I was confused.

Seojin just said he didn’t want to have a girlfriend and Seojun said he didn’t like girls. Wait, Seojun didn’t like girls? But he said he didn’t like boys either. So who does he like? Camels?

Ugh, my head was starting to ache. Camels? Seriously? Was that what I could think of at a time like this?

"Hyung, are you okay?" Seojin asked, but my head was spinning, so I accidentally hit his hand, preventing him from touching me.

"Ah, so sorry. My head is spinning and I feel faint, so... Is your hand okay?" I asked. He rubbed his hand and shook his head.

"Don’t worry about my hand, Hyung, is your head okay?" He asked, making a second attempt and succeeded.

He stroked my hair and touched my forehead.

"You don’t have a fever." He said.

"I know, I just... I have a lot to process." I said and he gave out a sigh of relief.

"Then, should we head out to get dinner now? For all we know, you might just be hungry." He said and I nodded.

Probably.

But there were days when I had to live off a single sandwich for a whole day and at night, have instant noodles. There were even tougher days than that, so I definitely would’ve known if it was because of hunger that I was feeling faint.

Or maybe, I was so used to living on a full belly that I had forgotten the feeling of hunger and starvation. I had money to burn and no debt to weigh my neck down so maybe I had become too comfortable.

"Hyung, let’s go." Seojun said, holding my hand but we were in public. "I know a good restaurant where we can eat. It has good seafood too and..."

I slipped my hand out of his grasp and he turned to look at me, confused.

"I think we should walk without holding hands." I said. "People will misunderstand. And you’re going to be celebrities soon. It’ll be bad for your image if rumors spread about you before you reach the peak of your career."

I was making excuses again. Honestly, I was just concerned about what they said. One didn’t want to have a girlfriend and one didn’t like boys or girls.

How was I going to interpret their words? I was too scared to ask.

Ugh, why do I still feel faint?

"We should get going." I said. "I’m getting so hungry that my eyes are closing."

"Hyung?" Seojin called but his voice started getting distant. I lost my footing but luckily, he caught me just in time before I could hit the ground.

"Hyung. Hyung, what’s wrong?"

I could hear his voice clearly but it couldn’t open my mouth to speak. Seriously, I feel so sleepy.

Is this what it feels to be weak health wise? Why, though? I wasn’t sick.

Let’s just sleep.

I woke up soon after on a hospital bed with the boys staring at me with worried and concerned eyes.

"Ugh, who turned up the lights?" I muttered and they immediately rushed towards me.

"Hyung, you’re awake."

"How do you feel?"

"Fine. I’m fine. Why are you so worked up?"

"This is why I said we should’ve gone to the hospital earlier." Seojun said. "But you were being stubborn."

"Ah, the hospital." I looked around. I was in the hospital. Did I really faint?

Seeing the drip attached to me, I guessed that was a yes.

"Careful." Seojin said, assisting me as I tried to sit up. "You fainted out of the blue and the doctors are still trying to find out what happened to you."

"They’re so incompetent." Seojun muttered with a tone full of disdain.

"How long has it been?" I asked, not minding his tone.

"Three hours." Seojin said and my eyes widened.

"That long? Then have you two had dinner yet? You’re on medication so you need to eat and take your medicine."

"Worry about yourself first, Hyung." Seojun said, pushing my shoulder back. "You were stubborn so now you have to face this."

"But... I feel fine. After sleeping, it feels like all the stress disappeared."

In all honesty, I felt refreshed. Resting for three hours was relaxing, to the point I started suspecting that I actually fell asleep in the middle of the road and not actually faint.

The doctor finally came back after the long wait.

"According to your report, the patient had a massive nosebleed, right?" He asked and they nodded. "Well, it’s not anything serious. He just suffered from slight anemia for having lost so much blood and lack of sleep. At this point, all he needs is to eat properly and he’ll be fine."

"What sort of diagnosis is that?" Seojun almost flared but he was able to say those words with a blank expression on his face. I swear it would’ve contorted if he twitched just a little bit. He sighed and turned to look at me. "So useless. Come on, Hyung, let’s go to another hospital."

"Seojun," I called. "Apologize."

"What?"

"I said you should apologize."

"What for?"

"I already told you I feel fine after sleeping. And coincidentally, the doctor said I fainted for losing a bit of blood and lacking, enough sleep so why are you trying to push it?" I asked, quite sternly. "Or is there something in my body that I don’t know of and you do?"

"I’m sorry, Hyung, I didn’t consider that."

"Not to me, the doctor." I said and he turned to the doctor who seemed rather flustered at the situation.

Seojun was hesitant so I gave him the push.

"Go on. The faster you apologize, the faster we can leave the hospital." I said and he bowed his head.

"I’m sorry for being rude." He said.

Seriously, was he a kid? Couldn’t he make out the situation with his own understanding?

Well, I was glad he didn’t create a fuss over the apology. But what was with his behavior? It was like he knew for sure that something was wrong with me but I didn’,t feel anything and the doctors didn’t find anything either.

"Well, it’s okay. You can get discharged right away. Just make sure to buy some blood tonics at the medicine department downstairs." The doctor said and scurried out of there.

"Seojun," I called and he faced me with his sorry expression. "I didn’t mean to scold you in front of the doctor but you really went too far by being rude. You shouldn’t do that to people who try to help patients."

"I understand." He said.

"Thank goodness. Now, come here." I stretched out my arms to embrace him and that lifted his spirit.

He hurried into my arms and wagged his invisible tail in delight when Seojin stood at the corner with his hand over his mouth, lost in thoughts.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"How do I get Hyung to scold me and then console me." He accidentally blurted out his true thoughts and then realized it. "It was a joke." He said with a smile.

Right, I’d like to think of it as a joke as well.
