Chapter 178: What would you do if I actually turned out to be a thug?
Dongwoo, in between the twins, stared at the ceiling. He was lost in thoughts. Thoughts of the memories he regained and thoughts of Minwoo.
Those thoughts were keeping him up but as much as he hated to admit it, the connection he had felt all along with Minwoo was because he was indeed his brother.
The twin brother he so much cared for that he disregarded his own safety.
’What do I do now?’ he thought. He couldn’t continue to act like he didn’t know a thing about it. And Minwoo, how was he feeling at the moment? Were the thoughts also keeping him up?
(Yeah, something’s definitely keeping him up but it’s not the thoughts. We all get it. Hehe)
Dongwoo closed his eyes and turned to back Seojin and face Seojun. His family... He couldn’t even remember what his parents looked like.
They might’ve loved him then but he just couldn’t remember much of them.
The people whom he could remember were Minwoo and Owen.
Owen, did he survive or did he die from the snake bites?
He was pretty much bitten all over and the reason he could not leave to get treated right away was because he was holding on to him. It was painful knowing he might’ve died because of them.
He didn’t deserve any of that.
"Hyung," Dongwoo heard Seojun call out and so he opened his eyes. Seojun was staring right at him with his beautiful grey eyes. "...are you still scared?" He asked.
Dongwoo watched him for a while before shaking his head.
"No." He said.
"Then, what is keeping you up? It’s worrying." He said, gently caressing Dongwoo’s face.
"I... Got my memories back." He said, and Seojun paused. "It was shocking at first but then it all started making sense."
Seojun went silent for a few seconds and then asked,
"So, what do you want to do now? Do you want to accept him as your brother? Go to your family?"
"I told you, the only family I have was my grandma. As for accepting Minwoo... I don’t know yet. My head is still in the middle about this but I don’t want to accept him just like that."
Seojun nodded.
"Whatever decision you make, I’ll respect it." He said, surprising Dongwoo. He didn’t think he would say that.
He was sure he would be against that idea since he was more likely to hate anything that made him shed a single drop of tear to the core
"But..."
Ah, of course. There was a cash.
"If he makes you cry, even just a little bit, I will beat him up and send him back the way he came." He said with deadly eyes. He was serious. So serious that it was almost frightening.
"I understand." Dongwoo said. "But please refrain from beating people up just because you feel like it; you’ll end up in prison, and your reputation will get a stain. It’s bad, Seojun. Don’t act so reckless."
"I won’t."
"Can you promise me?" Dongwoo asked and Seojun buried his head in his chest, hugging him tightly.
"Only because it’s you." He muttered. "I’ll refrain from throwing my fists carelessly. Rather," he grinned. "I’ll make sure no one is watching, and there’s no evidence that leads back to me."
"Seojun, now you’re just sounding like a thug." Dongwoo said. "That’s plausible. Wait, no. I’m not telling you to do that. Don’t just go around hurting people."
"Haha, I understand, Hyung." Seojun said, laughing softly. Then, he quieted down, his mind weighing down with a thought. "Hyung,"
"Hm?"
"What would you do if I actually turned out to be a thug?" He asked.
"Huh? Aren’t you already acting like a thug? I mean, you don’t let me have the last pancakes on my plate and always like snuggling on me, hoping I’d get hard." Dongwoo said and chuckled.
"Not like that, Hyung." Seojun said, squeezing a bit tighter. "A real violent thug who beats people to vent out his anger. Have you ever imagined me like that?" He said and Dongwoo gave it a thought.
"Hm, you being a thug, huh? Well, I don’t think there’s much of a difference to how I see you now."
"How?"
"I don’t really support violence but from the moment I watched you enat up Sungho, I already imagined you being a violent thug who couldn’t keep his anger to himself. And whether I liked it or not, that character suited you a lot. It contradicted the image of innocence I had of you but it also looked good for some reason." He explained. "Why? Do you plan to change your character to a violent thug? Well, if you want to do so, I believe now’s the best time. You won’t be able to change it once your character is buried in people’s minds."
Seojun went silent and he shook his head.
"It’s nothing, Hyung." He said. "Rather, it’s a relief."
"Hm? What’s a relief? Do you really plan to become a thug? Don’t, I tell you. Thugs grow ugly over time."
"Hahaha, is that what you’re thinking about?" Seojun asked, laughing heartily that he had to sit up so he wouldn’t choke on his laughter.
"Well, not exactly but that’s the most important." He placed his hands on Seojun’s face and turned it to check both sides. "Your face just might grow wrinkled if you’re always angry and throwing punches so refrain from it, okay? For my sake, at least."
"Then, Hyung, have you ever thought of getting a tattoo?" Seojun asked and Dongwoo blushed.
"I... I don’t like pain." He said, averting his eyes.
Tattoos were cool, and he liked seeing them on people with great visuals, but he never imagined it on himself because he was scared of the painful process.
"So, you would prefer a thug without tattoos to a thug with tattoos, right?" Seojun asked and Dongwoo flared.
"Thug this, thug that. Seojun, did any company send you a secret offer to change your image?" He asked and Seojun laughed. "It might suit you, but once you take on that character, everything you do will be judged that way. Even if it isn’t your fault, they’ll immediately assume it is because you’re supposed to be a thug and... And... You shouldn’t pass through such a thing just to amass fame. So please, don’t do it."
Seojun stared into Dongwoo’s eyes. There was genuine care and worry, and in that moment where he was supposed to think of things carefully and seriously, he had to admit that Dongwoo looked as pretty as always even when worried.
"Alright, I promise." He said and then, he felt arms wrap around him from behind. It was Seojin.
"Hm, you two seem to be having a fun conversation."
(Edit for comment reply: HanLaYu, Sungho might have been delusional because of his heart ache and the crushing feeling of having no one, that was why he went crazy but he’s honestly a good guy. He just... Needs to loosen up a bit. Plus, he gets shy and timid when in front of Minwoo, hehe)
