The rest of the participants waiting for the interview were unfortunately asked to go back and come back another day to give them to another photographer in need of an assistant.

"So, Kiddo, you got your assistant?" Taiha asked and Dongwoo nodded while Eunwoo almost went wide-mouthed from seeing Meong Taiha in the flesh.

He was his idol.

Taiha looked up at him, which brought Eunwoo out of his bewilderment.

"So, the kiddo chose you, huh?" He brushed his chin, observing him carefully.

"Yes, yes sir." Eunwoo answered.

"Hm, you have to work hard so that the kiddo doesn’t stress, okay? He’s our star photographer at the moment, so he needs to be ready at all times and his equipment always needs to be in tiptop shape, understand?"

"Yes sir!" Eunwoo stood at attention as if standing in the presence of a military man.

"Then why are you acting like you’re in front of a military officer? I may be older than you but you don’t need to be so alert." Taiha said and sighed. "If you’re like this with the kiddo too, you’re going to make him uncomfortable."

’Ah, there’s no need for that. With me, he acts like the world is filled with nothing but villains.’ Dongwoo thought and almost laughed at his own thoughts. "So, do we start the shoot now?"

"Yeah, the twins chose to model for ’Times’ brand first, but the measurements went in late, so it’s going to take a while with them. We’ll start with the others first." He explained and Dongwoo nodded.

"Alright."

Taiha looked at Eunwoo for a while, wondering what to do with him on his first day. He might have had experience in other places but that experience wouldn’t help much if he was going to start afresh in a new place and with new equipment.

He looked away, using his eyes to search around, and found the person he was looking for.

"Hey, Dooshik, come here." He called and Dooshik dragged his lazy ass to them.

"Yes, boss... Director?"

"Are you still hung over?" Taiha asked and Dooshik felt the director was concerned about him so he rubbed his nose with his ego in the air ready to explain how awful he was feeling, hoping to get a day off but to his disappointment, Taiha shoved his thoughts in a trash can by kicking his ass.

"That’s cruel, director." Dooshik wailed in a loud voice.

"Oh good, you’re awake. You were daydreaming so I needed to ’kick’ you back to reality. Want me to do it again?" Taiha said with a plain face that one would actual think he was being considerate.

"Nope, thank you, director. I’m good."

"I warned you not to drink too much. What are you going to do if it interferes with your work?" He asked and Dooshik darted his eyes aside.

He was one of the people involved in the drinking competition with Seojin and was completely wasted the previous night.

"Don’t worry, director, I’m sharp." He showed his muscles.

"Yeah, tell that to your reflection." Taiha said and Eunwoo stifled a laugh.

Dongwoo was surprised. He completely did not expect it.

Dooshik gave him an expression that was clearly challenging him to a fight. It was just a joke, though, to express his frustration at having to work when he was seriously hung over, so Eunwoo apologized right away.

"Sorry, I’m sorry."

"Anyway," Taiha said. "Dooshik, put..." He looked at Eunwoo, using his eyes to request for his name and he said

"Eunwoo." Eunwoo responded right away.

"Right. Take Eunwoo around, tour him around the equipment areas, and teach him the know-how. He may have knowledge of most things but teach it to him again. We can’t have him making a mistake. He’s the kiddo’s new assistant." He said, and Dooshik’s eyes widened in surprise.

"Whoa, lucky." He said, and Taiha’s eyebrows furrowed.

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, boss!" Dooshik sealed his lips but Taiha kept his suspicious eyes on him.

Dooshik did his best to avoid eye contact, scared that he would be forced to open his mouth and confess.

In this situation, Dongwoo had to speak up.

"Um, Sunbae-nim, I think it’s almost time." He said. "Eunwoo, you’ll have to be a bit quick with your tour. We have a busy schedule."

"Leave it to me, Dongwoo Hyung." Dooshik said and held Eunwoo away from there while whispering about how he was lucky to get to work as Dongwoo’s assistant since he was very nice.

Eunwoo glanced back at Dongwoo and wondered,

’I never expected the person behind those pictures was like that.’ He thought. ’Or is it just the editor’s effort after all? Editing is a key factor. If it’s not edited brilliantly, the glow would never show.’

He looked forward.

The studio was huge and there were a lot of workers there. The set was also pretty amazing. The kind of equipment the lighting personnel used was different from the ones the photographers used so Eunwoo did not take him to the lighting equipment.

"So, who does the editing?" Eunwoo asked.

"Huh?" Dooshik paused. "What editing?"

"You know, those pictures were surely edited after they were taken, right? The person who edits them must be very skilled in creating that masterpiece." He said, and Dooshik looked at him with suspicious eyes.

"What do you hope to gain from knowing that?" He asked.

"Nothing. I just wanted to get to know the editor as well, if possible."

Dooshik sighed and shook his head.

"It seems you have the mindset that Dongwoo Hyung could not have possibly created those masterpieces on his own." He said. "But sorry to disappoint you, it’s all him. The pictures taken and the editing were all done by him. He worked hard more than anyone just to make them perfect. It’s really sad to see his own assistant doubt his skills but I won’t blame you because it’s a natural response." He dropped his hand on Eunwoo’s shoulder. "But take my advice, don’t try to let your doubts show. If they do, you’ll have to deal with ’them’."

’Them again?’ Eunwoo thought, furrowing his eyebrows. ’Who are they?’

No, he should not be thinking of that. He had to apologize.

"I’m sorry." He said but Dooshik shook his head.

"It’s not me you should be apologizing to. And... Wait and see. With your own eyes, you shall confirm Dongwoo Hyung’s skills. Now, come. I need to introduce you to the members as well."

Eunwoo nodded and went with him.

He would see with his own eyes. He would finally get to see how a nice person such as Dongwoo was able to rise to fame with no connection, though he was certain the twins had a hand in it more since it was their pictures that were probably attracting investors.
