Chapter 137: And so, you cried

Without realizing it, Dongwoo let the words slip out of his lips,

"I miss her...so much." The tears rolled down his cheeks. "I miss her so much that I could die." He covered his eyes with his palm, rubbing the tears away but they kept falling. "What do I do? What do I do, Grandma? What do I do?"

Seojin caught his hand right away, stopping him from rubbing his eyes any more than he already did.

"You’ll hurt your eyes, Hyung." He said, and Dongwoo looked at him, pursing his lips.

"I’m sorry, I... I said I’d try not to cry but..."

"It’s okay, Hyung. I understand why you’re crying." He said, taking out the handkerchief in his back pocket. He wiped Dongwoo’s tears and softly, his eyes. "But that does not make it easier to handle. But I’ll try to understand you more."

Dongwoo sniffed and looked away, intending to continue from where he stopped to avoid making the atmosphere awkward.

"I went by the name, Lee Dongwoo while staying with Grandma. She gave her contact to the police in her hometown so they could contact her if anyone were to search for me but there was no one. Since I didn’t remember anything, they couldn’t search for my family either." He paused and sniffed, taking the handkerchief from Seojin to blow his nose. Then, he continued. "Eventually, we gave up the idea of me going back to my family and decided to pretend I had no one out there to begin with. Or, they could all be dead, just like Grandma’s late husband. And so, grandma became my only family."

A little silence followed as Dongwoo concluded with that. Then, he got to the heavy topic. His fist trembled.

"And that’s why, when that Dongwoo came in and explained to me that they had never stopped searching for me after I fell off a cliff, I didn’t want to accept it. All facts show that I was the one but I didn’t... I didn’t want to admit that I had a family outside while Grandma and I did all we could to be each other’s support. While I was left alone in the world with no one to have my back and no one to lean on, I had parents out there who, with a simple flick of their finger, food would be provided, yet I survived on scraps and sometimes, ate a meal a day. I had a family like that and yet I suffered? It was disbelief at first, and then it turned to anger and then to pain and bitterness. It was so uncomfortable and so hard to bear..."

"And so, you cried." Seojin completed and Dongwoo nodded. He sighed, releasing his clenched fists, and continued.

"I didn’t want to accept it and pretend like I never heard a thing, simply continue living my life, the way I had been for the longest time, just as I had grown up, alone." He said, sadly.

"But you’re not alone, Hyung." Seojun spoke up, getting up from the couch. "You have us."

Dongwoo lifted his gaze to look at the caring look in his eyes and smiled.

"Yes, I’m no longer alone and I’m happy this way. I don’t need them. I’ve found everything I ever needed." Dongwoo confessed.

The twins were happy with his final words but something told them Dongwoo wasn’t speaking from his true feelings.

There was still pain in his eyes as he looked at them.

Well, they would just make him forget his pain somehow.

"For now, I’ll try to adapt to seeing a ’doppleganger’ of myself." He said and sighed. "Minwoo is your manager now. Let’s not let personal feelings affect work, okay? I hope you guys can get along."

The twins’ reactions to that were rather ’meh’. They strongly frowned, their lips curving down completely and Dongwoo laughed.

He covered his mouth. He probably shouldn’t have laughed but it was so funny. He laughed out and the twins felt relieved, looking at him as the pain in his eyes slowly faded.

"Glad you’re laughing now, Hyung." Seojun said and kissed the top of his head. "I miss this."

"Um, I know you and Minwoo will be working together from now on but..." He paused, bowing his head in shame.

"What is it, Hyung?"

"It’s just that, he looks so much like me and..."

"If you’re worried we’ll treat him the same way we treat you or that we would mistake him for you then know that that’s impossible." Seojin spoke the words right out of Dongwoo’s mouth.

"In the first case, you two may look alike but we knew right away that he wasn’t you when he walked in. We could never mistake him for you." Seojun folded his arms. "We’re not like that, Hyung."

"I know, I know. I wasn’t trying to accuse you guys. I just..." He paused once more, biting his bottom lip.

Seojin reached his hand out to him and pressed his lips down, releasing it from his teeth.

"Don’t form a habit out of this, Hyung. You’ll hurt yourself." He said and softly kissed his lips. "Just tell us. What else is bugging you? We’ll do anything to make you happy."

"Well," he darted his eyes towards Seojun and back to him. "...right now... I don’t know how to say this." His face flushed. "I want... To take a picture of you."

Seojin paused for a moment and then blinked. He didn’t get it.

"Hyung, did you get your words mixed up by chance?" Seojun asked but Dongwoo shook his head. "But you take a picture of us almost every day."

"It’s not like that." Dongwoo said and blushed. "I... I don’t want to take pictures of you as models with expensive and fancy clothes. I... Want to take a picture of you in your natural form, just for myself."

"Natural form?"

They were still a bit lost. What exactly was he trying to say?

Seeing they weren’t getting his point, Dongwoo knew he would have to blurt out exactly what he was trying to say and with a reddened face, he blurted out.

"I want to take pictures of you two while you pose naked." It took a lot out of him but he was able to successfully blurt it out. Then, after heaving heavily, he added, "And maybe, pictures of you while you’re overwhelmed with lust, staring at me like hungry beasts ready to devour." He spied their reaction, scared to meet their eyes. "I want to capture every moment of it in camera, if you’ll let me. Please."
