Is It Wrong To Love My StepBrother Alpha Mate? -
Chapter 92: A Visitor
Chapter 92: A Visitor
Since Dora first came to visit she’d decided that she wanted to see her great-grandnephew more often.
Between her and Alyssa, Helena barely had to watch over her son, she’d ended up grumbling to both women that her son wouldn’t recognize her with how much time they were spending with the baby.
At almost two months old, Ronan was developing faster than most pups, he was also starting to show signs of being able to use magic.
Dora marveled at how much potential the child had and they even went as far as comparing him to Helena when she was a baby.
She didn’t know that she’d managed to use magic when she was two months old, that her Grandfather had to put a dampener on her magic just so that she wouldn’t hurt anyone by accident.
’Does it make you uncomfortable?’ Helena asked Hera as she watched Dora entertain her son with magic.
’No,’ Hera answered. ’It’s a part of you so in a way it’s a part of me too.’
’That’s good,’ Helena hummed. ’I was worried it made you uncomfortable like the others.’
Helena knew that most wolves skirted away from magic. Many said it was unnatural, but wolves would be the same too if you asked humans.
’Why would it?’ Hear asked. ’We’ve living with it all our life.’
Helena smiled at her wolf’s answer as she continued to watch Ronan giggle at the toys flying around him.
Suddenly Helena felt something zap her, then a presence pressing against her mind, making her jump.
"What was that?" Helena asked, her eyes going to her mother and Dora.
Alyssa looked at Dora and raised an eyebrow.
So it was a witch thing.
"It means the spell we cast worked," Dora said grinning.
As if on cue Victor came crashing into Helena’s apartment.
"Don’t you know how to knock?" Helena grumbled.
She’d unwillingly given Victor access to her place when he reasoned out that her mate would be furious if he learned that there was no way for reinforcements to get to Helena and Ronan if something happened.
Romeo didn’t even know about Ronan.
"Grandmama, there is a witch at our gates asking to see you," Victor announced.
"She thinks it’s me she wants to see," Dora told Victor, shaking her head. "It’s Helena that summoned her."
"The spell?" Helena asked.
"That spell I made you cast would normally leave a powerful Witch or Warlock exhausted for days, but you felt only a slight discomfort with it," Dora pointed out.
She then turned to Victor.
"The Witch simply asked for me because she didn’t know that the Grand Warlock’s heir was here or that she was powerful enough to pull a summon," Dora explained. "She’s a friendly and is also mated to a wolf. All her kids came out as wolves with no magical ability."
Dora then turned to Helena.
"Now where would you like to meet with here?" Dora asked Helena. "Here or at the pack house?"
Helena considered her options.
While the pack house was safer this was a matter of the coven and she felt it was wrong to conduct it in the packhouse.
"I have an office here," Helena told Dora. "We could use that."
Dora then looked at Victor and gave him a nod.
Picking up Ronan, Alyssa rocked that baby to sleep as he yawned and closed his eyes.
"I’ll take him to bed, I’ll bring Norris with me and ask Daniel to guard your door," she told Helena before planting a kiss on Helena’s cheek and taking Ronan with her.
"This way," Helena said as she led Dora through the apartment toward her office which was at a strategic part of the apartment.
It was far back enough for the guests to feel like they were welcome but it was closer to the entrance than the rest of the house.
"I’ll wait here, Luna," Daniel said, giving a small bow.
Helena nodded in thanks before entering the office and offering Dora a seat.
"Comfy," Dora said, looking around the room.
Her gaze stopped at a photo and smiled.
"I remember that day," Dora said.
"You were there?" Helena asked as she looked at the photo. It was a framed photo of her and her parents that her mom gave her before she left Blackmoon.
"I was," Dora said.
"Then why aren’t there photos of us together?" Helena asked her.
Dora smiled and shook her head as she took the photo in her hands and took out the back.
"When your grandfather took everyone to the ancestral lands he also cast another spell, it made you forget about us," Dora sighed as she took out the photo.
For the first time ever, Helena noticed that there was more to the picture, a side had been folded out.
Dora straightened the photo and handed it to Helena.
"He wanted to protect you," Dora explained. "He didn’t want you to go looking for him before you were ready."
"And am I ready grandmama?" Helena asked as she held the picture.
Dora looked a little younger, but her smile was much wider, and next to her was a man who looked like an older version of her father.
It broke her heart that her father would never see that age, that he’d never meet Ronan.
"We’ll find out," Dora said, patting her hand as a knock came from the door.
Helena waved her hand, unlocking the door and opening it.
Outside stood a pair, a woman, whom Helena could tell was a witch and a young man who looked a little younger than her.
"Madam Theodora," the witch said as she got down on one knee with the young man following suit. "You summoned?"
"Your son?" Dora asked as she glanced at the young man.
"He is, and I think he might have magic," the woman said, still on her knee.
"Enter," Helena gestured.
The witch looked to Dora for direction.
Dora nodded and the pair entered.
With a wave of her hand, Helena slammed the door shut, leaving the pair stunned.
"I didn’t summon you Kara," Dora said as she smiled at Helena. "My grand-nice did."
"Grand Witch," Kara said, falling to her knees with her son following suit.
