Is It Wrong To Love My StepBrother Alpha Mate? -
Chapter 41: Introductions
Chapter 41: Introductions
"Hi," Helena whispered back.
"I see you’re busy making friends," Romeo commented as he pulled an empty seat and settled next to her. "Care to introduce me?"
His voice was gravely, deep, rough, and husky, almost like a growl.
Helena clenched her legs, praying to the Moon Goddess that he wouldn’t scent her.
"Oh yes, please," Eleanor purred.
Helena shot Eleanor a glare, making the other she-wolf laugh.
"Possessive," Eleanor teased, sending the women giggling.
"I think I don’t want to introduce you," Helena huffed. "Come on Rome, let’s go."
Romeo laughed at Helena but he let her pull him away.
"Wait, Helena," Rae whined.
"Fine," Helena husffed, dragging Romeo back to the table.
Romeo stopped next to her and gave them all a polite smile.
’At least he isn’t being flirty,’ Helena told Hera.
’He better not be,’ her wolf huffed.
"Girls, this is Romeo, Alpha Heir of the Blackmoon Pack," Helena said as she introduced Romeo to the group. "Okay, done, I think I see Dad looking for us—"
Romeo wrapped an arm around Helena’s waist and pulled her close, cutting her off midsentence.
He bent his head and brushed his nose against the shell of her ear.
"Now, love, don’t be rude to our guests," he said in a low voice that only the two of them could hear.
"And you ladies are?" Romeo asked, standing straight, leaving Helena flushed and wanting to drag him back upstairs to one of their rooms.
The girls giggled like school girls before Eleanor stepped forward and offered her hand.
"Eleanor Silverfang, Alpha," Eleanor said as she introduced herself. "My father is the Alpha and my brother the Alpha Heir. I’m here to find my mate."
"I won’t be your mate," Romeo said, making Helena elbow him in response.
"What?" he asked, turning to Helena. "I think it’s only appropriate that I tell them that I won’t be mating with anyone other than—"
"Your Goddess-given mate," Helena said in a loud voice.
She knew what Romeo was about to say, and she didn’t want him to say it.
"You should let him say what he wants to say, Helena," Rae teased her.
"Stella!" Helena said, making the poor girl jump in her seat.
"Yes?" the meek girl asked as she peeked up at Helena.
"This is Stella," Helena said as she dragged Romeo toward her.
"Hi," Stella said, blushing.
"What are you waiting for?" Helena whispered to Stella. "Introduce yourself."
"But, I—" Stella began to say before she just decided to clam up.
Helena groaned at Stella’s reluctance to introduce herself.
The girl had gone from confidently arguing with Sara to stuttering in at introductions with Romeo.
"That’s Stella Westgrove," Vanessa said as she uncrossed her legs and stood up. "Her older brother is Alpha, she’s the youngest of ten."
"Ten?" Helena asked, shocked by the revelation.
"My parents, ummm... loved each other," Stella said, blushing.
Romeo wrapped both arms around Helena and placed her in front of him.
"How many kids do you want? I’m sure we can beat Stella’s parents," Romeo teased.
Helena rolled her eyes and didn’t answer him.
How many did she want? She’d never thought about it.
"And you are?" Romeo asked as he looked at Vanessa.
"Let go of me," Helena said, pushing him away. "People will talk."
"Let them," he growled.
"I’m serious," she said in a softer tone this time. "Please."
"You know I can’t refuse you when you say please so prettily like that," Romeo told her.
She felt Romeo hesitate for a while before finally letting her go. But he didn’t move far, he stood next to her, his fingers brushing over her arm.
"I’m Vanessa Frostforest," Vanessa said as she extended a hand.
Romeo looked at it but didn’t take it to shake.
"Romeo, don’t be rude," Helena scolded him.
Grumbling, Romeo extended his hand and took Vanessa’s and shook it.
He quickly let go as if it were on fire.
"Romeo!" Helena scolded.
"Don’t worry, Alpha," Eleanor said, laughing. "We’re not after you. At least not anymore."
All the girls, except for Helena, laughed at Eleanor’s declaration while Romeo gave her a confused look.
"We’ve become friends," Helena grumbled.
"And I’ve convinced them that the only she-wolf for you is Helena," Rae said, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
Helena glared at her, but at the same time, she couldn’t help but feel thankful that Eleanor and her friends were no longer after being mated to Romeo.
"So no more harassment after I step out of the car?" Romeo asked with a playful smile on his lips.
It was Helena’s turn to laugh as the girl turned red with embarrassment.
"Our dads—" Eleanor began to say.
"My brothers—" Stella stuttered.
Romeo raised his hand and gave them a smile. He shook his head and sighed.
"We’re sorry about that," Eleanor finally said. "But now that we know about Helena we would never do that again."
"Yeah, we thought you were single and available." Vanessa shrugged. "I wouldn’t turn down a potential mate like you."
"He’s still unmated," Helena grumbled feeling ignored in the entire exchange.
"Yeah, but it’s clear that he’s spoken for," Eleanor teased.
"I am," Romeo said proudly.
"Rome!" Helena shouted angrily.
"What?" He asked turning to her. "I am spoken for, I won’t choose another mate if it isn’t you."
Helena’s jaw dropped at the declaration.
The fact that he would dare say it in such a public space where anyone could hear.
"Do not do that," Helena huffed. "A lot of Alphas are here hoping that their daughter will be your mate. You’ll ruin potential alliances."
Romeo closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
He pulled Helena close to him and made her rest her head on his chest.
"You’re the Alpha heir of the Stonehill pack," Romeo whipsered to Helena. "With you my pack will be the strongest, what other alliance would I need? What else would I have to look for when I already have you?
