Interstellar: Exploring The Cosmos With My Anomaly System -
Chapter 70: See the stars
Chapter 70: See the stars
"Where am i..." Lailla woke up in an empty void, her feet shackled in chains, a sliver of light shinned above her, her eyes slowly opening at the sound of a voice that spoke over the warrior, as if echoing throughout the entire plain.
"Veira will put you back together..." She heard Godrick’s words, her eyes widened at his familiar tone.
"Godrick!?" She shouted, in hopes of getting his attention but he wouldn’t respond. "Godrick!!"
She shouted, shrieked and screamed but to no avail, her words would just echo back at her.
"Damn it! All because I ran into that weird looking girl—" She clicked her tongue in annoyance, trying to move her legs to realize she’s been chained down
Lailla gritted her teeth, her body tensing as she fought against the heavy iron shackles clamped around her ankles. The chains rattled with her every movement, echoing sharply across the void like ghostly laughter. She pulled, twisted, kicked—but the cold metal held fast, digging into her skin with each desperate jerk.
"Let me out!" she growled, her fingers clawing at the chains as if sheer willpower could undo them. Her breathing grew ragged, sweat forming at her brow despite the void’s unnatural stillness. She slammed her fists into the ground—solid, yet formless, as if the void mocked the very idea of resistance.
The light above flickered faintly, pulsing in time with her panic. Lailla’s arms trembled as she pressed against the unseen floor, trying to hoist herself up, only to be yanked back down by the restraints. The metal scraped her skin raw, and still, she kept fighting.
"Damn it—Veira, Godrick—anyone!" she screamed, her voice breaking into a hoarse cry, swallowed up by the darkness. "Damn it I wont stay here!"
Suddenly, the chains grew hot.
She winced, her eyes widening as the iron links began to glow faintly, not with fire—but with something older, something arcane.
[Warning, Warning, Control weigning!]
[Warning!]
Celi clicked her tongue within Laillla’s body, her eyes heavy with fatigue as Godrick kneeled over her, about ready to strike at her leg.
’There’s only one last thing...’ She thought, her hands raised to the sky above them all, Godrick looked up as her fingers curled into her hand, balling into a fist. Causing the whole ground to shake.
Everyone was shaken off their feet, Vagnis’s soldiers, the enemy troops, all bloodshed stopping for a mere moment to stare at what’s going on with the heavens above.

"Human?" Viera gasped, turning her attention fully to her adversary eye to eye,"Of course..."
"That explains so much..." She pulled her arm away, her gaze never breaking from her’s "So you’re their scientist–"
"No," Astra cut her off on her words, "The role of scientist doesn’t belong to me,"
"Huh?" Viera looked shocked at her words, but, just as she was about to speak, the ground beneath them started to shake harshly. Viera’s tools collided with the floor in a small tremor. The Scientist quickly pushed past Astra to see what was going on, a look of fear and annoyance in her eyes.
[System rebooted, Power Low,]
’Celi??’ Astra thought, hoping to get through to her this time.
[Mission carried out, Disconnecting from Lailla Grien,]
Astra looked at Tanaka taking in the horrible sight before her, his stomach was slit, and a stab wound laid on his chest, the poor man was hardly breathing, his eyes glazed over almost unconscious.
’Celi, can you store him away, for the time being...’ Astra’s gaze couldn’t stay on him for long, guilt for taking this long flooding her conscience, hardly able to imagine the pain he had to endure, even if it was for a few minutes.
Viera braced herself against a nearby wall as the tremors grew stronger, her mind racing. Sparks flew from the cracks in the walls, her tools clattered violently to the floor, and somewhere in the distance, she could hear the war horns of Vagnis soldiers faltering mid-blow. But then—something shifted.
A low, humming sound echoed through the air, unlike anything natural or magical. It was deep and resonant, like the groaning of the world’s very bones.
She ran, boots skidding against the brass-plated floor, until she reached the edge of the broken observatory balcony. Her breath caught in her throat.
Above the city, a massive tear in the sky had opened—a glowing, rotating oval of blue and white energy, lined with intricate sigils spiraling like clockwork mechanisms. From its depths, a silhouette emerged slowly: sharp angles, reinforced plating, and thrusters glowing with a molten orange hue. A ship. No—a spacecraft.
It descended like a leviathan birthed from the void, clouds parting around it in circular gusts. Steam hissed from vents along its flanks, and several brass-banded anchor tethers fired out, clamping onto surrounding rooftops as it stabilized over the square. The crowd that had once been locked in combat now stood frozen—soldiers, rebels, engineers alike, all craning their necks upward.
Steam valves burst from the ground, cables writhed like snakes trying to connect, and a loud, mechanical hiss rang out as a hatch began to lower from the vessel’s belly.
Viera’s smile had vanished.
"That creature... it’s here...," she muttered, knuckles tightening around the railing.
"Viera!" Astra shouted as she approached her, her hand forcing her to turn around and looked her in the eye. "Call this off!"
"And why should I...?" She pondered, her voice now less impressed even as Astra pushed her against the bronze wall, Her hands balling into angry fists. "You’ve brought all your troops here and their already tired and beaten,"
"When it comes to numbers, you have nothing on us!" She laughed, standing up straight yet one hand remained behind her for support. "Freya and her men will be back any second now-"
"Even if you kill me here, someone will carry on my work, no matter what I’ll never lose, never again..." Astra gritted her teeth as her mocking words scraped at her ears, "I don’t care if you are a creature of the gods, I’ll tear you down with my own hands—"
Her words were cut off by Astra’s hand, as she offered it out to the scientist.
"I’m not looking for a winner or loser here—" She declared, her eyes speaking volumes with her words. "Just like you I’m looking to create a kingdom of science, but—"
"You think I’ll fall for that trick?!" Veira snapped, slapping her hand away, "I’m no fool! I’ve been tricked before!"
"There is no trick, you need my help more than you know to achieve whatever it is you want, face it— no matter how hard you try, it’ll take you centuries to achieve the level of science that’s even close to rivaling ours,"
She extended her hand again, though this time, it felt like she had no other choice, her eyes lowered to her grasp waiting to be taken.
