Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage -
Chapter 568 - 568: 568: Stunned Speechless!
Roar!
The Crimson Lizard King's blood-red eyes flared as the space around him erupted into roaring flame.
Dragon Curse: Blazing Meteor Shower!
The battlefield lit up—everyone had nearly forgotten Orson still had a dragon king-class beast by his side.
Taking full control of the Crimson Lizard King, Orson rained down nearly eighty blazing meteors right at the flanking gap.
Hundreds of Imperial NPCs attempting to circle around were instantly turned into minced meat.
"You think something like that can stop us? Pathetic!" scoffed the Rockforce Sovereign. Manipulating earth elements was his specialty.
"Sandstone Bastion!"
With a growl, he slammed his staff into the ground. Sand surged beneath his feet, rising into an arched corridor—a majestic bridge that threatened to span across the Grip of the Underworld. The magical might of this Demi-God matched even that of the dragon tribes' Dragon Curses.
Seeing this, Orson chuckled darkly. "You really thought I was blocking the path? That's rich."
Without warning, he hurled dozens of Chaos Magic Balls. The Rockforce Sovereign frowned and prepared to retaliate.
But instead of hitting him, the spheres sharply curved midair and struck the ground—specifically, the section of the Grip of the Underworld nearest Forever City.
Crack—
A sickening sound echoed as a deep fissure tore through the earth.
The ground quivered like jelly, rumbling beneath their feet. The Dwarf King and the two other clan rulers turned pale.
Crash!
The earth gave way. A sinkhole hundreds of meters deep yawned open beneath them—and nearly 100,000 elite soldiers from the three clans plunged into the abyss.
-300,000 impact damage!
-200,000 impact damage!
...
It happened so fast, the livestream chat filled with lines of "???"
"Hahaha! My beloved hillfolk brothers—this pit's been waiting for you!" laughed Veijander, arms akimbo on the city wall.
Grey Dwarves were unparalleled miners. With his lead, a team of over a thousand had dug this perfect death trap in under half a day.
In the cavern, Enderoth clawed to his feet, soaked and stunned. The three clan armies had crashed into each other, tangled in chaos.
"We've been tricked!" he shouted in panic.
"Damn, they really just buried them alive!"
Players acting as bait near the gate doubled over laughing.
"Kinda dumb, huh?" Orson smirked.
The whole roadblock maneuver? A decoy. Reinforcing the dirt with earth magic had simply been to prevent collapse from forming a slope—ensuring any NPC that fell couldn't climb out.
And sure enough, every one of those meatheads walked straight into the trap.
Now the pit's near-vertical walls turned it into the perfect tomb.
"Fire or water? Your choice," Orson asked with mock politeness.
The NPCs below looked up in stunned silence. Seeing no reply, Orson shrugged. "Water it is. I've never seen an NPC drown before."
With a wicked grin, he raised his staff.
"Awaken: Infinite Tsunami!"
A deafening roar followed as a monstrous wave surged down into the pit.
Thousands of NPCs screamed in terror. It was like boiling ants in a cauldron. Their bodies spun helplessly in the torrent.
-10,000 suffocation
-20,000 suffocation
...
Water magic wasn't known for burst damage—but it was endlessly versatile.
In Infinite Dimensions, suffocation damage started small—but if the target couldn't breathe, it would escalate relentlessly. Even Demi-Gods could drown.
The massive pit became a drowning pool. Desperate NPCs grabbed for anything—often each other—trying to get a breath.
The result: chaos.
Any time someone surfaced, they were dragged under. Dozens of clan elites turned their weapons on their comrades to survive.
The once-blue pool now ran red. Severed limbs floated to the surface. It looked like an Asura's slaughterhouse.
"Horrific… they're murdering each other just to live."
The spectators stared, hearts pounding. The kill feed exploded—not with suffocation deaths, but friendly fire.
That's the difference between NPCs and monsters. Self-preservation trumps everything.
"Hugh Jackman! Save us!" Enderoth broke the surface, shouting.
"That damned dwarf… all brawn, no brains," the Imperial Marshal spat.
Jenonis looked like he'd chew glass. His gaze turned icy as he glared at Snow Dream. "This is your so-called Usher Plan?"
Snow Dream sat calmly astride her silver dragon, smiling faintly. "As Your Holiness can see, the adventurer alliance is laughably weak. Just push through Orgod's tricks, and victory is yours for the taking."
"Hmph," Hugh Jackman growled. "Fine. Send the Holy Light Church to rescue that fool Enderoth—and clear a path for us."
But before Jenonis could give the order, Snow Dream's lips curled. "As servants of the Light, it's our sacred duty to offer salvation."
Jackman blinked. He hadn't expected such a quick yes—surely she knew this was a trap?
"But the terrain ahead hinders our troops. We'll require the Snow Siren Clan to freeze it over," Snow Dream added, eyes gleaming.
Jenonis hesitated, then nodded. "Snow Queen, go with her."
"Holy Light Church, Snow Siren Clan—move out!"
Snow Dream's voice rang out as she gave the command.
Eight large warships and six Dragon Knights broke through the artillery lines and joined her, along with an entire battalion of frost-wielding sorcerers.
"That treacherous witch… I'm gonna gut her!" someone screamed.
"She's helping NPCs against us! What the hell?!"
The chat exploded with rage. To see a player siding with the enemy—was beyond betrayal.
"Realign divine cannons 3-12! I want that traitor turned to ashes!" roared Dynasty Old Yin.
"Ignore her," Orson said suddenly. "She's throwing herself into the meat grinder."
"Wait—what?"
The others stared, then slowly nodded. She'd have to break through an arcane fortress and a divine warship. Good luck with that.
Snow Dream landed her dragon at the edge of the blood pool. She looked up at that familiar figure floating in the sky.
Their eyes met. No words. Just the quiet ache of knowing things could never go back.
She took a breath.
"Snow Queen, freeze this ground. Clear the path for the Empire."
The Snow Queen hesitated. "But… what about the Dwarf King and the others?"
"The faithful do not fear death. Their souls will sing in paradise forever."
Snow Dream's expression turned gentle, cloaked in radiant light. The Queen fell silent.
"The Frost Goddess answers my call. Let snowfall cover the whole of Infinite Dimensions…"
The frost sorcerers began to chant, their song haunting the skies.
In the pit, Enderoth and his men paused their struggle.
A blood mist rose and began to freeze. A chilling premonition swept over them.
"No! She's going to kill us!" Enderoth howled.
"Wait… is she freezing the whole pool? What the hell is she doing?!"
"Do Imperial NPCs always betray each other like this?"
Water froze around the NPCs' flailing limbs. Under the Everfrost Lament, a B-rank ice spell cast by over 1,300 frostcasters, the blood pool became a solid tomb.
Anyone not yet out was buried alive—stacked debuffs of suffocation and frostbite killing thousands. Only a few elite NPCs with Body Domination survived.
"Now… all units drop defenses. Prove your courage before the God of Light."
Snow Dream's voice slithered like a devil's whisper.
Holy Light cultists jumped from their ships. Over 20,000 zealots stripped themselves of armor, weapons, and gear, eyes alight with fanatic devotion.
"What the hell? Is this a streaking cult?!"
Raven couldn't believe it. With defense stats removed, the NPCs' numbers plummeted into the negatives.
"Face me, Orgod! Let's duel!"
"The God of Light will witness my flawless soul!"
Veins bulged as they charged forward naked, blades flailing wildly.
The entire scene turned surreal.
Some female NPCs were… way too exposed. Parents watching beside their kids scrambled to shut down their holo-screens.
It was too much.
The Snow Queen stood frozen, watching her people discard their armor, robes, gloves…
She had relinquished command to Snow Dream. Now, all she could do was watch.
Her systems glitched as she whispered, "Is… is that really what courage means?"
