Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1291 - 1291: Loyalty
The enemies stopped attacking for a moment, wondering what they could do in that situation, and Rain stopped rotating as well as he was starting to get dizzy… At the same time, he focused on making several of the mana swords fall on the enemies, but he focused on quantity this time…
The dark mana swords were stopped by the shields completely, but at least that left the enemies open to attacks coming from below and the front… They soon raised their spears to protect their heads when they felt the aura on Rain change, but that didn't help one bit as Rain summoned dark ice mana spears and made them spin while flying toward the heads of the monsters… the monsters began to get killed in droves, and that forced several of them to retreat.
That even surprised Rain.
"This is being weirdly effective… why?" Rain thought. "What did it change to make these attacks that much more powerful?"
"Probably because of the Ruthless path, Wrath's path, and the Wrathful King's path," Elisabetha explained.
Upon hearing Elisabetha's explanation, Rain finally made sense of the unexpected effectiveness of his recent attacks. The interconnected nature of the Ruthless Path, Wrath's Path, and the Wrathful King's Path became obvious. Even when these paths weren't actively equipped, they held a connection with the power of wrath.
The wrath that was initially used to influence Rain's mind was now being channeled into empowering the attacks of skills associated with those paths. It was information that shed light on the intricacies of the magical system at play, providing Rain with a strategic advantage in the ongoing battle.
Adding that to the recent skills that Rain equipped… perhaps the more wrath-related skills he equipped, the more effective the wrath would become.
With this newfound understanding, Rain continued to exploit the interconnected dynamics of his abilities to press on against the mechanical knights. When Rain only equipped the wrath skills on all slots available, he stopped thinking and just charged toward the enemies.
Even in that state, Rain knew what worked the best against the enemies, so he began to spin in the air violently once more and began to pierce through the monsters, turning them into beehives filled with holes.
The mechanical knights tried to resume their formations to slow down Rain, but he kept moving erratically in the air, and they weren't fast, to begin with… so it didn't take long for them to decide to run away and escape… when half of them had been defeated, they made their choice.
"As if I would let you," Rain said while showing a vicious smile and then using Telepathy. "You used Run, but it failed!"
The monster flinched for a moment, thanks to the power of the jokester's path and Telepathy. In that short window of time, Rain approached and destroyed the head from behind."
The skill Stupid Joke received 15.000 experience points.
The skill Telepathy received 15.000 experience points.
As Rain continued to employ the same tactic, he ended up relentlessly piercing through twenty more mechanical knights, and a sense of accomplishment surged within him. However, a moment of clarity washed over him, and he realized the foolishness of his actions.
While he could have pursued the remaining enemies indefinitely, the rest of his allies were still engaged in the fierce battle and in need of assistance.
Despite this, Rain found some peace in the fact that he had achieved one of his goals during the battle. Telepathy, a crucial skill for communication and coordination, had reached the milestone of level one hundred.
This accomplishment fueled his determination to establish contact with the previous zone and his allies, a plan he had intended to set in motion as soon as possible… it would be helpful if the level one hundred would be enough.
"I am surprised that you managed to pull through your rage without my help," Elisabetha said.
"Well, I am not just handsome. I am smart, too," Rain said. "The main reason for this is… ugh…"
Rain began to throw up plenty much all of the water and nutrients that he had digested in the last few hours. That was the reason he decided to use those spinning attacks. Getting dizzy would affect his mind and body, and thanks to it, his wrath wouldn't be able to control him forever…
After using Full Heal a few times, Rain flew back to the base and saw that things were still noisy there. Mainly on the side with the dark trolls… killing those things was being surprisingly hard. On the opposite side, Sealyn and Liss were keeping the Yellow Mist clan at bay, but they were in a stalemate since they couldn't push them too much.
Much to Rain's surprise, He couldn't find any signs of the arcanists, so he didn't hesitate to fly toward the place where the dark trolls were fighting. Soon, Rain found Terra, Jori, and Reca's squads fighting those beasts. The number of enemies was relatively small, only around two hundred, but they weren't going down that easily.
Rain soon learned why when he flew with all his might and then punched one of the dark trolls in the stomach. Rain's punch was devastating, causing the body of the dark troll to explode into pieces that scattered in all directions. However, to Rain's shock, the dark blood that connected the various body parts acted like a bizarre network, swiftly reassembling the creature within mere seconds.
The dark troll regenerated before Rain's eyes, its form restored as if the explosion had never occurred.
Astonished, Rain took a step back. Their regeneration speed rendered conventional methods of attack ineffective. The realization added a layer of complexity to the ongoing battle, forcing Rain to reconsider his approach against these formidable enemies.
Before Rain could dash toward the monster to finish it off, a lot of other dark trolls got in his way… they sure had a high level of loyalty among their ranks…
