Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1254 - 1254: Progress
After discussing the situation further, the consensus among the group was that a smaller, specialized team would be the most effective in dealing with the giant lizards. Given the nature of these creatures, their small numbers, and the unique challenges they presented, a focused and skilled squad seemed to be the best option.
Rain couldn't help but find Arel's descriptions of the giant lizards a bit peculiar. Dinosaurs capable of breathing fire seemed like a concept straight out of fantasy or perhaps an exaggeration close to insanity… Still, only he and the relics knew what the dinosaurs were, so they didn't look as confused as him.
"Let us go with Sealyn to deal with those enemies," Terra said. "We will deal with them in no time."
Seara stepped forward as well, and she also looked confident. Rain wanted to joke and say that he didn't trust a team of women alone taking part in half of the mission, but he didn't want to get punched, and it wasn't time to joke around either.
"I suppose that is fine, as long as your goal is to decrease their numbers instead of charging toward their base and shouting like Vikings," Rain said.
"What is a Viking?" Seara asked.
"That is a lesson for another day," Rain said. "Prepare for the missions. We will depart in two hours."
Terra and Seara, two of the most skilled members in melee combat and support roles, respectively, were crucial assets for the mission against the giant lizards. Terra, known for her exceptional combat skills, was among the best melee fighters in the group. Her ability to deliver power and heal everyone and herself made her an excellent choice to confront the physically imposing reptiles.
On the other hand, Seara, with her proficiency in ranged attacks and providing support from the backlines, complemented Terra's melee prowess perfectly. Together, their synergy and the relics they possessed added a formidable edge to the team's overall offensive capabilities.
Despite the emotional news regarding Sealyn's pregnancy, Rain expected Seadrei to express some concern about letting the trio of Terra, Seara, and Sealyn go on this mission alone. However, to Rain's surprise, Seadrei remained silent and didn't offer any objections. It seemed like he had decided to trust in the capabilities of the team members and their ability to handle the mission effectively.
"All right, you can have this core, and you can have this," Rain said after he passed a core to Jori and Reca. "With this one, you can make your spear many times Sharper and harder, and with this core, you will be able to coat your sword with wind magic that will increase its sharpness by a large margin."
"Wouldn't it be better if I got this core and he got this?" Reca asked.
"Yes, but I didn't want to give him a core and say that he could make his sword harder with it," Rain said. "Even I wouldn't go as far as use dick jokes with my friends."
"I also didn't want to hear something like that, so I am thankful for the consideration," Jori said.
"You are welcome," Rain said.
"Are you fine leaving the woman in your family to take that kind of job alone?" Reca asked. "Annie will probably feel pretty bad when she hears about this."
"Well, they are more than skilled enough for it, so it is fine," Rain said. "They won't do anything insane, and I have some countermeasures as well. I just hope that it won't come to that. Otherwise, I will suffer as much as their target when they see me once again."
"We are leaving now. Good luck to you guys as well," Terra said.
Rain nodded while looking at them, and so did the others. At the same time the first group departed, Seadrei and Jori's groups joined Rain and Reca's groups. Their target was the death knights and the undead king.
"You are this time, Jori," Rain declared.
"Roger that," Jori said.
Rain's decision to let Jori take the lead in their mission against the death knights and the undead king had a reason for it. It was part of a deliberate strategy to prepare as many people as possible to take on leadership roles within the group. Rain foresaw the need for a more larger and coordinated effort in the near future.
As the group faced increasingly formidable enemies and their challenges multiplied, Rain recognized the urgency of scaling up their operations. In a couple of months, he planned to implement a strategy where they would carry out missions to fight and eliminate up to ten enemies daily. The goal was to accelerate their progress and confront their enemies with greater efficiency.
By rotating leadership responsibilities and giving individuals like Jori the opportunity to lead missions, Rain aimed to cultivate a sense of adaptability and resourcefulness within the group. He understood that relying solely on him to make strategic decisions wasn't sustainable, especially considering the magnitude of the challenges they faced.
The impending birth of Sealyn's child added a time constraint to their plans. If they wanted to leave the dangerous zone before Sealyn gave birth, they needed to expedite their progress.
"Only one week has passed since I came to this place… but I am already sick of it," Rain thought.
"One week… so much has already happened that it seems that a lot more time has passed," Elisabetha said. "You have gotten pretty stronger in one week, so I am sure that you will be able to solve most problems regarding the enemies in the blink of an eye… eventually."
