Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix
Chapter 1171 - 1171: Frost Marksman

When Rain managed to recover half of his mana, things started to get dangerous on the battlefield… the monsters began to reach the walls of the cities and trash them with relative ease, and the warriors began to get smashed on the ground left and right.

"Hmm… it can't be helped," Rain said. "I guess I will deal with half of them and then leave the other two to them," Rain thought.

Fortunately, Rain had enough time to plan how he was going to deal with the monsters and deal with the most difficult ones as well. For starters, he began to focus because he needed to be quick, prepare his attack, and get the enemies off guard as well…

After clearing his mind completely, Rain was able to visualize what he was going to do and how he could do it as fast as possible. After thirty seconds, Rain suddenly charged in and appeared above the red porcupine beast… then he swung down his sword.

At that very moment, the weapon began to cut down the beast, and the sword emitted a powerful blue and cold glow… the first spike was split in that and then was shattered like glass. Then, the blade pierced through the rest of the body of the beast until Rain reached the ground.

The blade didn't split the whole body of the monster, but the swing of the impact did, and when the halves of the monster began to move in opposite directions, they began to freeze as well.

The onlookers were struck with disbelief as they witnessed the surreal scene unfolding before them. The red porcupine beast, originally menacing and imposing, now hung frozen in mid-air, split neatly in half as if time itself had paused to allow for this weird display.

The expressions on the faces of the warriors varied from shock to awe, their eyes wide with surprise and amazement. Some were mid-swing, their weapons poised to strike, now halted in suspended animation as they gawked at the spectacle.

The abrupt stillness in the midst of the chaos created a momentary silence on the battlefield, with the only sound being the crackling frost enveloping the frozen creature.

Before they could recover, Rain had already reached the other battlefield, and he pierced the head of the sand golem as well… but he didn't use any force on his strike. He just pierced the head and let his mana spread around the beast. Before long, the monster was completely taken by ice. The area got so cold that people began to tremble thanks to it.

"I will call this the absolute zero blade," Rain said when he pulled his sword. "I want this skill on the system, overseer."

If the overseer was seeing that or not, it was impossible to tell… what truly happened was the fact that Rain didn't get any response.

"What are you doing, Dad?" Sealyn asked. "I had this one in the pocket. You don't have to be so underhanded all the time."

"Ugh… that is starting to sound like an insult," Rain said. "Anyway, it looks like you couldn't use your domain yet, so I had to intervene."

"We need to hurry up and deal with the others. We also heard the conditions to get rid of the beasts once and for all," Terra said when she suddenly arrived."

"Right," Rain said. "With my domain, you guys won't have a hard time dealing with them."

Rain could recover enough mana to sustain a domain of five hundred meters with no problems, so it was only a matter of time. Those three headed to the location of the other beasts, and soon Rain confirmed that it would be a long night…

The Wrath's path leveled up.

The Wrath's path leveled up.

The Wrath's path leveled up.

"Well, this would be useful if it weren't troublesome…" Rain thought. "What are you going to do if this path reaches level one hundred and unlocks something even worse?"

"... I am sorry," Elisabetha said.

Elisabetha could only say that… as much as she tried to control herself, the possibility of finding the first dragons that destroyed Earth was enough to stir her up, and that was the result.

The issue lay not only in Rain's power but also in his growing adaptability to her anger. Controlling the influence of the sins was not meant to be easy, and the fact that Rain was becoming used to it raised a red flag. Perhaps the situation would be more manageable if Rain kept unlocking the level cap of certain skills and maintained the dangerous paths and skills at lower levels.

However, a new concern emerged – Rain's growing greed.

The allure of power and the desire to unlock new capabilities were driving Rain to explore the limits of the system. The prospect of what might happen if certain paths reached level one hundred and unlocked potentially catastrophic consequences left Elisabetha uneasy and Rain as well.

The delicate balance between harnessing power for survival and succumbing to the dangerous allure of the system was becoming increasingly difficult.

Regardless, Rain forgot that for a moment as he watched Terra and Sealyn eliminate the beasts within the limits of his domain. They worked together, so the beasts didn't last even five minutes each. Before long, they got their own boxes as well. Rain offered his two to them, but they refused it. They might unlock the Pride's path quite soon, too…
