Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System -
Chapter 448 - 448: Accept or Die, A Plan
"So?" Necro asked coldly, exuding a poisonous pressure that scared the wits out of the Greenflame Disciples. "Have you made your decision?"
Those same Disciples were still reeling from how fluently this supposed 'Creator' could talk. They were given little time to truly consider the options, going straight to bowing and sweating while screaming their acceptance of whatever he had in store for them.
"At least you're smart," said Necro as he dropped a droplet of the purple [Control Essence] on each one of the prostrated Greenflame Disciples. "From now on, you all work for me. You'll obey every one of my commands."
With hazy eyes, Mo Wuxian and the other Greenflame Disciples nodded, robotically saying, "We understand, Master."
"Good." Necro looked to the extremely injured Viscera Refinement Realm Team Leader. "As for you…"
"N-No!! Pl-Please don't kill me…!" Yan Ro begged through broken, bloodied teeth. "I'll do anything you want me to do—"
*Drip!*
"Huh??"
"I was never going to kill you, though the value of your cultivation was nearly too enticing to deny," Necro said apathetically. "Your injuries are now mostly healed. And with that, I'll offer you the same deal as the others."
"Accept my control or die. Your choice."
"Th-This…" Yan Ro shifted his flickering gaze over to his fellow Sect Disciples, feeling that death might actually be better than a fate like theirs. "I… I don't…"
"Ignore their current states," Necro interrupted. "They're only like that right now because I want them to be. When you return to your Sect, I'll allow you all free will to do whatever it is you want to do. However, if you have even the slightest thought of betraying me…"
"N-No, I would never, Lord Creator!" Yan Ro flailed his arms, feeling levels of fear like never before. "Pl-Please put me under your control! From now on, I'll do whatever you say…!"
Necro wasted no time in doing just that. And as the purplish liquid droplet made contact with Yan Ro's skin, Necro thought about the desperation that humans experienced when faced with certain doom.
'Such persistence… To cling so much to life even knowing you'll become akin to a slave…'
Humans were a lot like him in that regard.
— Some time and inquiries later —
"Alright," Necro said to snap the Greenflame Disciples out of their robotic stupors. "You all may go back to where you came. If anyone questions you about what happened during your mission, then just tell them that you'll be going out again because a powerful Demon Beast was passing through this area the first time around."
"O-Okay!"
The Greenflame Disciples no longer sounded as robotic as before, but they were still scared out of their minds—especially when it came to the horrifying strength of the petrifying entity before them.
The moment they got the green light, the Greenflame Disciples were out of there!
While passing by the ominously standing Shadow Tree Soldiers, they prayed to all of their gods that they'd never have to meet with the 'Creator' again.
Far too scary!
"Humans…" Necro muttered. "They're so feeble… But at the same time, their lifeforces are tenacious…"
After they left his thousand+ meter range, he returned to his slumber. Yet, even while letting time go on without him, the burning rage of revenge inside him craved release.
'Yi Yu… For what the Hundred-Eyed Sect did to you, I'll make sure they experience a pain a thousand times worse. Even if I have to annihilate the entire Sect to make it happen, I'll do it in an instant.'
For the first time in his short life, Necro had a genuine goal. One that made him work with ten times the efficiency when it came to eradicating Demon Beast kind alongside his Shadow Tree Soldiers.
— Late in the night, within the Hundred-Eyed Sect's Leader Building —
"You say the Sect Leader of the Greenflame Sect is here?"
An older man with streaks of green flowing through his grayish black hair spoke up. On his forehead were two extra sets of eyes, both slanted in opposing directions.
"Yes, that's correct, Master." A servant replied respectfully.
"Let him in."
"Yes, Master."
Not long after the servant outside his door left, he returned alongside a man of greater stature. Compared to how he looked dozens of years ago, he had a more middle-aged air about him.
Thwacking open the door to the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader's personal chambers, Sect Leader Mo Fuchan strutted up to where the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader was seated.
"What's the matter, Mo Fuchan?" the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader spoke calmly and without turning his head. "Did the last girl I helped prepare for you not please you enough tonight?"
"No, it's not that," replied the Greenflame Sect Leader as he sat down next to the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader. "That girl is as tasty as always, and I'll be enjoying her for many moons to come. No, this has nothing to do with that."
"Then what?"
"The Barbarian Tribes to the far south are acting up again!" the Greenflame Sect Leader angrily tapped his finger on the table, beckoning a servant to bring some tea over. "Their daringness knows no limits! Time and time again, they've attacked and killed the Envoys I've sent over for peace negotiations!
"As if that weren't enough, they've also been brazenly robbing any caravans I send in that direction for business purposes! It's infuriating!"
"And what does any of this have to do with me?" the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader sipped on his tea.
The Greenflame Sect Leader cocked his head, his annoyance showing through his twisted expression. "Come on, let's not play the fool at this stage. We both know that you trade poisons with the Fiendish Sects in the south. Why don't you help me in a show of power? If the both of us and our strongest go to intimidate those savages, they'll become so scared that they'll completely submit to us!"
The Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader went quiet, his thoughts stirring.
Ultimately, he turned toward the Greenflame Sect Leader and asked, "What do you have in mind?"
Mo Fuchan cruelly grinned, then went on to explain his plan to the Hundred-Eyed Sect Leader.
