In an instant, a terrifying figure with golden eyes descended, appearing before Narada Muni.
With a fierce grasp, his large hand snatched.
His grip was tyrannical, like the very lock of heaven, firmly clamping onto Narada Muni’s arm.
Jīnchuáng!
Fear gripped Narada Muni’s heart.
The curse from Daksha allowed him to go anywhere unimpeded, but if his body was touched by someone else as he attempted to leave the Heavenly Realm, he would also take the Jīnchuáng with him.
Swish!
In Jīnchuáng’s right hand, a flash of light materialized and a Great Hammer appeared, raised aloft.
The dark shadow of the hammer was extremely terrifying.
“Don’t be reckless!”
“I am an Immortal, if you kill an Immortal, it is a great sin of slaying Brahma!”
“Slaying Brahma sin, ah!”
Narada Muni shrunk his neck as he spoke, his left hand materializing a golden kettle filled with violently undulating Ganges Water, his right hand reaching inside, ready to splash it out.
The water was Ganges Holy Water, capable of casting curses!
Carrying Ganges Water with him served both as a curse and as protection.
“Are you faster than me?”
Jīnchuáng spoke with an icy voice, full of disdain.
Immortals are Ascetics!
To kill an Immortal would be to commit the great sin of slaying Brahma, seriously violating the Righteous Law.
But for Jīnchuáng, this was not much of a deterrent; he had already driven away the Devas and prohibited worship, making enemies with the Three Aspects Deity long ago—so killing this Immortal directly was no big deal.
More importantly, this Immortal dared to barge into his palace unexpectedly, clearly showing no regard for him as the ruler of the Three Realms.
Jīnchuáng narrowed his eyes, his expression cold, the Great Hammer about to strike down.
“Stop!”
The resonant voice of Sukhacara Sage instantly echoed through the space.
Silence fell within the grand hall in a flash.
Jīnchuáng and Narada Muni stood still, slightly turning their heads to glance askance at the approaching Sukhacara Sage.
“Put it down!”
Sukhacara Sage commanded in a deep voice.
His eyes swept over them and seeing that the hammer and kettle were still not put down, he immediately let out a cold huff, and beams of golden light appeared in his hands.
Swish!
In Sukhacara Sage’s left hand was a sharp Curved Saber, and in his right hand appeared another golden kettle, the saber facing Jīnchuáng and the kettle facing Narada Muni.
That doesn’t seem quite right!
Swish!
Amidst a flash of golden light, the Curved Saber and the kettle switched places.
This time, the sharp Curved Saber was positioned in front of Narada Muni, its biting blade light dazzling his eyes.
The mouth of the kettle was now aimed at Jīnchuáng, with waves of Ganges Water splashing out as if a curse could be unleashed at any moment.
“Put!
It!
Down!”
Sukhacara Sage commanded.
Under the deterrence of this third party, Jīnchuáng and Narada Muni stiffened up and finally calmed down.
Jīnchuáng was silent, his face cold; he let go of his grip and looked up at Narada Muni with his head held high.
Huff~
“Praise be…”
Narada Muni let out a sigh of relief.
He was just about to offer praises to Vishnu when his words suddenly stalled.
It would be dangerous to speak thus, as Sukhacara Sage and the King of Asura seemed to have a feud with the Supreme Lord.
He held back the latter half of his words and forced a smile on his face, turning to look at Sukhacara Sage.
“Sukhacara Sage!”
Narada Muni said with a smile.
Sukhacara Sage had a stern expression and asked bluntly, “Are you here for the sake of the Devas?”
Narada Muni’s smile froze as he blinked.
“It’s like this~”
Narada Muni said in a low voice.
Humph!
Sukhacara Sage snorted coldly, the weapons and kettle in his hand disappeared, replaced by a long staff that landed with a thud on the black stone of the grand hall.
“Jīnchuáng and I have already discussed it!”
“From now on, we will not prevent the Devas from fulfilling their duties, but the Three Realms still belong to the Asuras, and worship remains forbidden; the Devas have no right to interfere.”
“Of course, if the Devas refuse to comply, they are most welcome to try!”
“They shall bear the consequences themselves!”
The Sukhacara Sage said coldly.
Narada Muni’s face broke into a wide grin; he hadn’t done anything, and yet the task was complete.
He placed his palms together and bowed slightly.
“I will go and tell the Devas right away!” Narada Muni said, his face brimming with excitement.
He turned with a smile, taking quick, small steps, he stepped into the void.
His mouth did not stay idle; whether intentional or accidental, a voice of praise spilled from his lips.
“Praise be to Vishnu~”
The faint echo resonated within the temple.
Jīnchuáng and the Sukhacara instructor’s faces suddenly changed, their smugness from earlier success disappeared, replaced by a look of disgust.
“Narada!!!”
…
With a cheeky smile on his face, Narada Muni, of course, didn’t hear the roar of anger, clutching the Vina, he hurried off to Brahmaloka.
He met with the Gods once again.
“Through my persuasion, Jīnchuáng and Asura instructor Sukhacara have agreed to let the Gods go out again, but they still do not allow the Gods to receive worship,” Narada Muni announced with a smile.
“Really?” the Gods asked, skeptical.
“You can let the Wind God try; there won’t be any problem!” exclaimed Narada Muni.
“Let me lead the way; I’ll go!” declared Wind God Vayu, not lacking in courage and confident in being the swiftest among the Gods.
It was fitting for him to take on this task.
He called his antelope mount, leapt on its back, and bounded out.
Whoosh!
The fierce wind, sharp as a spear, pierced through Brahmaloka.
The antelope leaped, and Wind God Vayu appeared in the world; the wind within the Three Realms immediately began to stir, and the atmosphere came alive again.
“Wind God Vayu!” exclaimed the Sukhacara Sage, standing within the Heavenly Realm Temple.
His gaze was intense as he looked toward the distant horizon, continuing, “Next, it should be Sun God Surya!”
Soon after, a warhorse galloped, a divine chariot descended, and a glimmer of dawn bloomed, bringing the gentle light of morning to the Three Realms, dispelling darkness and restoring light to the world.
Then, flames began to burn anew upon the earth, with specks of fire starting to ignite.
Lakes and seas also resumed their mighty surging.
This signified that both Fire God Agni and Water God Varuna had emerged.
“Now, only he is left!”
“Indra!”
Jīnchuáng’s voice was intense, standing beside the Sukhacara instructor, his expression smug, fists clenched tightly, barely able to contain his rising battle spirit and murderous aura.
However…
Jīnchuáng stood in the Heavenly Realm like a statue of a woman waiting for her husband, waiting a long time.
Sun God Surya and Moon God Soma took turns, clocking in numerous times, yet Indra’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
“It’s been almost ten years!”
“Instructor!
You said Indra would come out soon, why isn’t he out yet?” Jīnchuáng turned his head, his expression stern, his eyes casting a doubtful glance at Sukhacara.
He used to trust the instructor a lot, doing everything as Sukhacara directed, but now his patience was wearing thin.
“Don’t worry!”
“Haven’t you noticed that the rain in the Mortal Realm is the combined effort of Wind God and Water God, conjured from mist blown across from lakes and seas?”
“If it continues like this, even the divine powers of the Wind God and Water God won’t hold.”
“Indra will have to come out sooner or later!” the Sukhacara Sage said, squinting his eyes and smiling faintly.
In Brahmaloka.
The Gods had returned to the Miscellaneous Grove Garden, gathered around the Bodhi Tree, their gazes fixed on the figure beneath it.
The Devas were visibly tired,
especially Wind God Vayu and Water God Varuna—both looked distressed, their divine light dull, their faces much thinner.
“The Mortal Realm cannot be without the Heavenly Emperor!”
