The gods gathered here, seated at the banquet table, surrounded by Apsaras, raising their cups to drink the exquisite Soma wine together.
The palace doorway flashed with golden light that twinkled and sparkled!
Sun God Surya, his hand on his golden sleeve, radiated light like a light bulb as he entered the great hall and took his place at a seat.
“Surya, why have you taken so long, were you researching yoga?”
Wind God Vayu laughed as he raised his cup.
Surya smiled and straightened his back, lifting his head proudly as he said with a smile, “Saroniyu was worried about me, so I comforted her for a long time.
It was only after she fell asleep that I came out.
I used to drive my chariot every day, but today I want to drink more fine wine to truly enjoy myself.”
“Hahaha!”
Amidst the gods, there was a wave of joy.
Everyone knew that the relationship between the Sun God and his wife was particularly good, a couple full of affection for one another.
Sun God Surya also lifted his cup and toasted those around him, except for Rahu, who was only left with the beginning and the end of his existence.
“Rahu, I toast to you!”
“Are you becoming accustomed to living here?
How does it compare to Earth?”
Sun God Surya asked with a smile.
“I’m more than accustomed!” Rahu’s smile was rugged as his elongated serpent tail, Ketu, coiled up, lifting a cup of wine high.
“I’m almost forgetting what Earth was like.”
Soma also walked over, smiling as he raised his cup.
“Hahaha!”
“Rahu, your two stars symbolize ill omens.
When the twin stars converge, they will swallow up the light of both me and Surya, and at that time…”
Soma chuckled lightly.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry, it won’t take long!
Even if I swallow the light of you two, I will spit it out soon!”
“You can call on me for anything in the future!”
Rahu’s face beamed with a smile, the tail holding up the cup.
“Alright, alright!”
Surya and Soma laughed as they raised their cups.
Ping!
The cups clinked together, producing a crisp ringing sound, as the three enthusiastically drank the delicious wine.
The entire temple was a scene of luxurious indulgence.
…
Milk Sea, Vighna.
Vishnu, propped on an elbow, cradled his head, lying on his side, deep in slumber, immersed in peaceful meditation.
Swish!
Suddenly, he opened his eyes, his gaze piercing as he looked towards the Mortal Realm.
At this moment, the Mortal Realm was enshrouded in darkness, the sun was gone, the moonlight absent, all winds were still, sounds hard to transmit, flames hard to kindle, and river waters eerily quiet.
This had little effect on the Devas, Asuras, Rakshasas, and Yakshas, as well as many other creatures.
But beyond them, there were many more lives that did not possess such formidable power.
His gaze shifted toward the Heavenly Realm.
He saw a group of Asuras that had already built splendid palaces within the Heavenly Realm, drinking fine wines, enjoying gourmet dishes, living leisurely and comfortably.
Sigh~
Vishnu sighed with a look of melancholy.
“My lord, are you sighing for Jīnchuáng?” Goddess Lakshmi blinked her beautiful eyes and said.
Vishnu wore an expression of concern.
“Jīnchuáng has seized the Heavenly Realm, and now that he has forbidden the gods’ offerings, a great disaster may befall the Mortal Realm.
If we wait for him to completely defy the Righteous Law before we act, the living beings of the Mortal Realm might not be able to wait that long,” Vishnu said.
“Who does Jīnchuáng hate the most?” Goddess Lakshmi asked.
“Me, and also Indra,” Vishnu replied without hesitation.
“Apart from Indra, why not let the other Devas go and try?
After all, they have all drunk the Amrita and possess undying bodies,” the Goddess Lakshmi suggested.
“Just to give it a try—after all, the Devas can run if they can’t fight!”
“Haha~ then let us call the Devas back!”
“As for the Divine Power the Devas lack…
they are in Brahmaloka; I think Brahma will offer help,” said Vishnu, his lips curving up slightly, his gaze affectionate as he looked at his wife.
The two looked at each other and smiled.
…
Brahmaloka.
“Praise Vishnu~”
With a voice of admiration, the wandering sage Narada emerged from meditation.
He blinked, his plump face turning from side to side, his eyes swirling with a bright gleam, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curled up.
During this meditation, he had heard the voice of Supreme Lord Vishnu.
“Lord, watch as I lend you a helping hand!”
With a smile, Narada picked up the garland around his neck, slowly rose to his feet, and from his bosom, where the light twinkled, appeared a Vina which he carried leisurely into the temple where the Devas were drinking together.
Inside the temple.
The Devas had already finished their first round of drinks and were preparing to start their second round of indulgence.
Being Devas, their capacity for liquor was as vast as the ocean, and since they were in Brahmaloka, they dared not get drunk.
“No rush, drink slowly!”
Sun God Surya laughed heartily.
At that moment, the Gandharva musicians were seated on both sides of the temple, continuously playing and singing, while the Apsaras, beautiful and delicate, swayed their bodies along with the music, dancing like peacocks spreading their feathers, exceedingly beautiful.
Ding ding ding~
Just then, the discordant sound of a Vina being played came from outside the temple.
This sound was incredibly harsh, grating to the ears, causing the Devas to cover their ears involuntarily and instantly disrupting the rhythm within the temple.
“Praise Vishnu~”
Narada Muni, holding the Vina, walked into the temple with a smile.
The Devas turned their heads to look.
So unpleasant!
The Devas widened their eyes in surprise, staring incredulously at Narada Muni.
This fellow, who cuddles a Vina every day, could actually play such an abhorrent tune.
“Praise Narada Muni!”
Sun God Surya and the others folded their hands together and praised in unison.
“Praise the Devas!”
Narada Muni folded his hands together and responded.
He scanned the Devas and then smiled as he spoke, “I’ve just heard the will of the Supreme Lord during meditation, Jīnchuáng has occupied the Heavenly Realm, the Mortal Realm is facing a great disaster, and I ask the Devas to act and restore order to the Mortal Realm!”
Upon hearing this, the faces of the Devas tensed up.
What?!
“This… us?!”
Surya had an expression of distress, his divine radiance dimming as he subconsciously touched his lower back.
He vividly remembered how his Divine Chariot nearly got dismantled by the fleeing Gandharvas, and how much Divine Power he had expended.
Just recalling it made his back ache.
“I’m afraid we’re no match for Jinchuang!”
Wind God Vayu admitted honestly.
“The Devas haven’t had enough rest yet!” Fire God Agni added.
“We are in trouble!”
Water God Varuna spread his hands wide, leaning back into his throne with a worried expression on his face.
Narada Muni smiled faintly and waved his hand.
“Eh~ The Supreme Lord just wants you to go and test the waters.
If Jīnchuáng stops you, you simply come back; if not, you’ll have fulfilled your duty.”
“Isn’t that the right way of doing things?”
Narada Muni’s eyes sparkled as he spoke with an open hand and a smile.
The Devas remained quiet for a moment.
“It seems…
that’s also true!” Surya frowned and said.
“But who should go out first?”
The Devas looked at each other, hesitant.
“The Supreme Lord did not say that!”
Narada Muni tilted his head slightly, his eyes blinking, and a mischievous gleam flashed across his face as he hugged the Vina and laughed aloud.
“Among the Devas, the strongest is the Heavenly Emperor Indra!”
“Only his Divine Power and Martial Arts can confront Jīnchuáng, he is the best candidate,” said Narada Muni joyfully.
