Chapter 20: Classification/Hidden Incubus

Translation: they built their power scaling system thinking no one would ever break it, and I just waltzed in like Saitama punching through their entire framework.

"What does ’thought extinct’ mean exactly?" I asked, though I suspected I wasn’t going to like the answer.

"Time magic was the domain of gods and ancient beings," she explained, her twilight eyes fixed on me with disturbing intensity. "No one has seen the temporal abilities in use in more three thousand years. The fact that you have suggests either a fundamental shift in magical reality or that you’re something beyond typical mortal constraints."

Well, that’s a fun thought. Though given that I literally died and got reincarnated with a supernatural system, maybe ’beyond typical world constraints’ is the most accurate description possible. Not surprising at all. This shit happens every time after reincarnation!

My mother stepped closer, her aura pulsing with protective energy. Through my divine sight, I could see exactly how much effort it was taking her to maintain composure.

"What about the rating system? Where do men usually fall?" I asked.

"For context," Magister Celestine continued, gesturing as magical text appeared in the air, "the standard classification system ranges from F-rank through SSS+ ranks. Most awakened individuals fall into C-rank."

Let me process this properly, I thought, studying the classification display. SSS+ would be the absolute apex - beings like Empress Aurelia the Golden who once conquered three empires single-handedly, or Ice Queen Crystallia who’s ruled Valeria for eight centuries and can freeze entire armies with a thought. These are the god-tier beings who literally reshape continents.

SSS rank would be the legendary founders and great war leaders who commanded armies during the conflicts that reshaped the world. Living legends who transcend normal limitations.

SSS rank includes the current empresses and most powerful nobles; Sultana Zahara with her solar magic that can melt castle walls, Tree-Queen Verdania who merged with the World Tree itself, Empress Pyrithia who’s half-dragon.

And then there are the rumors about the younger generation that have everyone talking. Princess Seraphine of Aetheria is supposedly SSS+ rank at only twenty-eight, which is absolutely terrifying. There’s whispered speculation that Princess Glaciana of Valeria might be SSS+ potential, and some say Admiral Coralline of Nereia awakened at SSS rank while still in her teens.

"Typically, males fall into C-rank or below," Magister Celestine answered. "The most exceptional male awakening in recorded history of the past seven generations was Prince Adrian von Goldmane at A-rank. Even that was considered miraculous."

So, the previous golden boy - Mr. Perfect Prince with his metal magic - topped out at A-rank, and I’m sitting here completely off the charts. No wonder everyone’s having a collective breakdown.

And apparently, I’m sitting in a category they had to invent because I broke their entire measurement system. That’s like being told you scored so high on a test that they had to create new numbers just for you.

"As you can see," Magister Celestine said with dry amusement, "we’ve had to create an entirely new category for you."

"And the abilities themselves?" Lyanna asked, though she was clearly fighting to keep her analytical mask in place while her body language screamed that she wanted to do very non-analytical things.

"Time manipulation includes temporal acceleration, deceleration, limited time stop, minor precognition, and past-sight," Magister Celestine explained. "Life magic encompasses life force manipulation, accelerated healing, biological enhancement, and plant manipulation. There’s more to these powers than I even know since they’ve been extinct before I even existed especially time!"

That explains why the flowers in the garden kept blooming more vibrantly around me. I was unconsciously feeding them life energy like some kind of fertility god.

I decided to test something. Focusing on my new abilities, I let a tiny pulse of life magic flow outward. The effect was immediate and dramatic - the cut flowers in the room’s vases suddenly bloomed more vibrantly, their colors becoming almost impossibly vivid. Every woman except Magister Celestine inhaled sharply as if they’d just caught the most intoxicating aphrodisiac.

So, life magic makes plants happy and women horny. That’s... actually a pretty useful combination.

"Fascinating," Magister Celestine murmured, completely unaffected while everyone else swayed slightly. "Your life magic appears to have... secondary effects on living beings."

Secondary effects. Right. Let’s call accidentally drugging every woman in a fifty-mile radius a ’secondary effect.’

"Are these abilities dangerous?" Anna asked, though her voice was breathier than usual and she kept stealing glances at me that my enhanced vision could read like an open book.

"Potentially," Magister Celestine said. "Time magic in particular requires extensive training to avoid temporal paradoxes or reality fractures. Life magic is generally safer but can be... overwhelming to those sensitive to life energy."

Translation: I might accidentally break reality if I’m not careful, and my mere presence is going to drive women crazy with desire. Just another Tuesday in the life of someone who apparently broke the universe’s power scaling system.

"The academy will need to design a completely custom curriculum," she continued. "These abilities haven’t been taught in millennials. We’ll likely need to consult the deepest archives and possibly seek guidance from the most ancient sources of knowledge."

Great. So, I’m going to be their magical guinea pig while they figure out how to teach abilities that supposedly don’t exist.

"How did your superiors even know to send you here?" my mother asked. "We’ve kept Marcus’s secret for years."

Magister Celestine’s expression grew thoughtful. "Ancient detection arrays placed around noble houses to monitor for unusual magical phenomena. They’ve been dormant for centuries - until three days ago when they began registering impossible readings from this estate."

Three days ago. Right around when I started affecting women more intensely. So, they’ve been watching me like a magical early warning system. But with her recent words before awakening, she was lying.

"Readings that suggested either a nascent divine being was awakening or someone with transcendent magical potential was about to undergo awakening," I said, piecing it together.

"Precisely. The academy’s council has been monitoring the situation personally. Your awakening just confirmed their most optimistic projections."

Well, she’s good at lying, isn’t she!

So, I’ve been on the radar of the most powerful beings in the world since before my awakening even started. That’s either very good or very bad for my future plans of reshaping this paradise to my liking.

I looked around at my family, all of whom were staring at me with expressions mixing pride, awe, and barely controlled desire. Through my divine sight, I could see exactly how much my mere presence was affecting them, and it was... significant. Like watching their self-control erode in real time.

"So, what happens now?" I asked.

"Now," Magister Celestine said with something approaching a smile, "you learn to control abilities that could reshape reality itself. And you try very hard not to accidentally overwhelm every woman within a considerable radius while doing it."

Too late for that second part, but the first sounds like fun. Time to see what these reality-breaking abilities can really do in the hands of someone who actually understands power fantasy mechanics.

But first, I had to figure out how to not immediately overwhelm my family with powers I was only beginning to understand.

This is going to be like playing a dating sim on legendary difficulty while wearing cheat codes. At least it won’t be boring.
