In Love With My Fierce Farming Wife! -
Chapter 972 - 977: Jealous!
Chapter 972: Chapter 977: Jealous!
With that thought, Qin Yi’s heart settled down, and the corners of his eyes even carried a smile of pride.
In Su Pan’er’s eyes, however, a cold sneer took hold in her heart!
A cold gleam flashed in her eyes, and as she turned her back, she instructed Jiu Lan, "The First Princess has been playing all afternoon and must be hungry by now. Issue an order to the Imperial Kitchen; it’s time to serve the meal."
Jiu Lan hurriedly relayed the order.
When tonight’s dishes were brought in, Qin Yi’s face immediately turned as bitter as a melon.
Bitter Melon Braised Pork, Celery Fried Meat, Stir-fried Celery, Leaf Mustard Soup...
Knowing he liked meat, the dishes tonight were mainly vegetables, each containing something he hated to eat, especially celery! It was at the very top of Qin Yi’s list of most disliked foods!
Upon closer inspection, there were a total of eight dishes: two meat, two vegetable, two cold dishes, and two soups, yet five dishes contained celery. True to form, these were the dishes Pan’er had "carefully selected" for him.
"Your Majesty, why aren’t you eating? Could it be that the dishes I ordered for you today do not suit your palate?"
Su Pan’er smiled gently; the upturned corners of her mouth made her facial features appear exceptionally soft and beautiful.
She personally picked up her chopsticks and, in quick succession, placed several chopsticks-full of celery into Qin Yi’s bowl: "These are the dishes I ’personally’ instructed the Imperial Kitchen to prepare especially for you. I wonder if Your Majesty likes them?"
"I like them! Very much so. Whatever Pan’er you have ordered, I like to eat," Qin Yi said, gnashing his teeth and glaring at the celery in his bowl, hardly able to stop himself from obliterating all that offending celery!
"Then... why isn’t Your Majesty eating? Could it be that the celery I personally selected does not agree with your taste?"
Su Pan’er added another two chopsticks-full of celery into Qin Yi’s bowl, almost entirely filling it up.
Qin Yi quickly picked up his bowl, realizing that tonight, whether he wished to or not, he had to eat the celery!
This was the price of his carefree attitude from the previous evening!
However, every time he thought of Pan’er, blooming into the most dazzling woman beneath him last night, he felt his blood boiling, the heat rushing to his brain, converging along his veins to that rebellious part of him that was raising its head, making him shift his legs uneasily, lest he gave himself away.
"No, I am very fond of it, extremely fond of it!" Qin Yi exclaimed.
"Since Your Majesty likes it, I will instruct the Imperial Kitchen to prepare it every day for you from now on. Each and every meal will include Your Majesty’s favorite celery. What do you think, Your Majesty?"
Su Pan’er’s smile grew even sweeter.
"Good, very good! Nothing could be better!" Qin Yi uttered through gritted teeth.
"If it’s delicious, Your Majesty, please eat more! I am very pleased, very pleased indeed! Hehe..."
Su Pan’er let out two cold chuckles!>
For the sake of those women, he was willing to eat even the most despised celery? Indeed, a beauty’s charm is a hero’s downfall!
"Eat, eat..."
Qin Yi’s face resembled a bitter melon as he glared at the celery in his bowl and, closing his eyes, held his breath and gobbled up the food. He refused to chew the despised celery any more than necessary before swallowing it, which made him stretch his neck uncomfortably.
He devoured his meal like a whirlwind!
In just a moment, that bowl of rice had gone into Qin Yi’s stomach.
Seeing Qin Yi finish his meal in a few bites and continuously stretching his neck, Su Pan’er squinted with a smile, "Would Your Majesty like another bowl? Servants, add more rice for His Majesty."
"No, no need... *burp*, *burp*! I am full, *burp*..."
Qin Yi waved his hands frantically, covering his bowl with his hand, fearful that the eunuchs would serve him more rice, his eyes watery and his face full of misery.
"Is that so? What a pity then."
Su Pan’er wore a look of regret, "It’s a pity that my good intentions and all the dishes I made can’t be finished..." As she spoke, she sadly lowered her head.
Qin Yi’s face turned pale with a tinge of green, glaring at the dishes on the table.
The sound of grinding teeth was incessant; he decisively picked up a bowl of Celery Fried Lean Meat and, without even wanting rice, started eating it right away.
"Eat, eat..."
The meal, the dish, Qin Yi couldn’t describe the taste at all, as he stuffed it wholeheartedly into his stomach.
By the time he had finished a bowl of Celery Fried Lean Meat and slowly put down the bowl, Qin Yi felt his entire mouth was infused with the flavor of celery. He even began to wonder if he was going to turn into the celery he hated so much...
"His Majesty really has a good appetite, there’s another bowl here..."
Su Pan’er praised him while bringing another bowl of celery to Qin Yi’s side.
Qin Yi abruptly stood up, suddenly holding his stomach, "Ugh! My stomach suddenly hurts, I can’t take it, I’ll be back soon."
With that, he didn’t wait for Su Pan’er to call him back and turned around, quickly running off.
Su Pan’er paused with the bowl in hand, then placed that bowl back where it was and leisurely began to use her chopsticks to pick up vegetables.
Hmph!
Lucky you’re a fast runner!
Su Pan’er ate with gusto, while Little Yanyan quietly watched her parents’ back-and-forth without understanding what they were doing.
It was only after seeing her father flee in panic that she watched the situation unfold from beginning to end, and now asked Su Pan’er curiously.
"Mother, doesn’t father despise eating celery the most? Or did Yanyan remember it wrong?"
Su Pan’er lied without blinking an eye, casually adding some celery to Little Yanyan’s bowl, "You must have remembered it wrong! This celery tastes quite good, eat up! The food will get cold if you don’t."
Qin Yi hated celery the most, but Little Yanyan and her mother both had a special fondness for it, both of them enjoyed eating it.
Little Yanyan obediently picked up the celery and started eating, "Could Yanyan really have remembered it wrong?" She was a bit confused.
"Of course, you remembered it wrong!"
Su Pan’er asserted, quickly eating the food in her bowl that had already grown cold, pondering in her heart that it seemed the consumption of celery in the Imperial Kitchen would have a big increase soon!
She was indeed curious to see how long he could hold out!
Even after Su Pan’er and her daughters had their fill, Qin Yi did not return.
Su Pan’er personally bathed the two children, then indulged in a refreshing bath herself before lying down with the two children to sleep.
When Qin Yi returned again, what he saw were the three sleeping soundly.
Under the night light, the serene faces of the mother and daughters were particularly striking, which unexpectedly calmed his heart.
He didn’t know how much water he had drunk just to remove the weird taste from his mouth. Even now, he still felt his mouth was plagued with the strange taste of celery!
He knew Pan’er did it on purpose!
She deliberately wanted to see him make a fool of himself! So, he would let her watch!
As long as it was what she wished for, he was willing to fulfill it for her!
However, her behavior today was really out of the ordinary. What on earth had happened?
Qin Yi looked at the sleeping mother and daughters, turned, and paced out of the side palace hall.
He gestured to Jiu Lan with a wave of his hand, "Tell me everything that happened after the Empress got up this morning, no matter how trivial."
