The one accompanying them, besides the rascal pig, was naturally Old Cheng!

Shortly after the three, plus the pig, disappeared from view, a shadowy figure flashed at the tunnel entrance, positioning itself where the pig had urinated.

It sniffed around and then crouched down to inspect the area. Seeming to find something amiss, it cursed under its breath and then quickly pursued the direction the three, plus pig, had taken.

After it left, another shadow appeared.

It, too, crouched in the same spot...

Old Cheng led the way, winding the two around in the labyrinth. After going through only three intersections, he stopped.

"The path we took is the correct route I discovered through multiple explorations with a rope tied to me. Going any further will trap you. It feels like there are a few layers to these tunnels. Had I not been lucky, I would have starved to death. So..."

He looked at the two of them and decided not to continue.

Su Pan’er, however, was not ready to give up.

"Since we are here, why don’t we continue exploring as Old Cheng did before. What do you say?"

Neither Old Cheng nor Qin Yi spoke up.

"So, you plan to return empty-handed?"

Su Pan’er could not help but grit her teeth and forcefully shook off Qin Yi’s hand: "Fine, if you won’t go, I will!"
