Chapter 176: Chapter 176 Death!_1

Going into the mountains in the pitch dark?

The Commanding officer hesitated as he looked back at his subordinates.

"Hmph! So, you still have your little calculation at a time like this?"

Seventh Master sneered: "Your lives are at the mercy of my words. Whether you go or not, it’s up to you!"

But what choice did they have between meeting a sword head on or dodging it?

The Commanding officer quickly gathered his troops and set up camp, following Seventh Master towards Deicide Mountain in a mighty procession.

Finally, the soldiers were gone!

Wiping away his tears, Qin Yi quickly shut the bamboo door.

Turning back, his eyes momentarily narrowed.

Unexpectedly, Su Pan’er had tightened her tunic and trouser belt, and wrapped her head with a piece of cloth, so that only her eyes were exposed.

"Pan’er, what are you..."

Su Pan’er’s eyes flashed with a sharp murderous intent, word by word: "We have been lucky from the beginning that no one recognized us, but if they thoroughly investigate in the village, they’ll know that Ye Han is not your father, so they must die!"

Qin Yi frowned, but in the end, said nothing. "Remember, you must come back safely!"

Su Pan’er nodded, turned, and rushed towards Deicide Mountain.

Watching Su Pan’er’s figure disappear into the night, Qin Yi clenched his fists, his eyebrows twisted into a knot, and blood trickled from his palm - cut by his nails without him noticing.

As they walked deeper into the dense forest, the forest grew denser.

Seventh Master walked steadily in the middle, as someone cleared the path ahead. But the Commanding officer and the others were panting, thinning out the procession.

The Commanding officer grimaced, but dared not to voice his anger.

His subordinates behind him had no such worries, their complaints growing louder.

"Who knows what we’re running around the forest for in the middle of the night! As always, we’re the ones who have to bear the grunt of the work. I can’t understand what these commanders are thinking!"

"Right! We serve the Prefect after all. He isn’t an official, he’s just using his tiny power to lead us into the mountains to face death."

"Shh! Quiet. He’s here with the Empress’s token. Don’t lose your life without even knowing why!"

"..."

The Commanding officer heard the complaints from his subordinates but remained silent, feigning ignorance. He asked Seventh Master with a smile, "Seventh Master, you seem troubled. Do you need any advice?"

"Just manage your subordinates well and don’t slack off at a crucial moment."

Seventh Master glanced at him. Recalling their chances of survival if they actually encountered that person still felt uncertain. He decided not to comment further.

As they walked deeper, a familiar terrain suddenly appeared before him.

Wasn’t this the place where he had narrowly escaped death?

Seventh Master paused.

He remembered how they had chased that person here, got ambushed, saw their comrades fall, and how he alone survived...

"No, this is bad!"

Suddenly, Seventh Master’s eyes widened as he realized the danger and ran back down the mountain.

"Seventh Master, what’s wrong?"

The Commanding officer quickly followed.

Seventh Master looked anxious: "That woman! Her face felt familiar, but I couldn’t place her. She had lost weight and her skin was whiter, enough to deceive my eyes! What an actress!"

He had caught a glimpse of her face when she was killing in collaboration with Ye Han amidst the dark forest!

"Seventh Master, are you implying that...?"

The Commanding officer started to feel uneasy.

"Indeed, you were right. Something is off about their family, particularly that female doctor. Quick! Let’s go back, else it might be too late."

Seventh Master looked anxious.

The Commanding officer wanted to say more but a streak of hearty laughter echoed through the forest.

"You’re right. It’s indeed too late."

The soldiers were instantly thrown into chaos as the laughter echoed from all directions.

That hearty laughter didn’t cease, "What a pity, you remember me now after all this time! We are indeed old acquaintances!"

Instantly, a wave of chaos rippled through the group of official soldiers.

"Who’s there? Come out, come out now!"

The commanding officer shrieked in horror.

"Come out? Hehe, today your lives belong to me!"

In the woods, Su Pan’er was perched on a large tree.

Behind her, Ke Er, unseen in the canopy, his face icy, and his eyes locked on the people below like arrows, with frosty Ye Han beside him.

Seeing Su Pan’er holding forth, Ye Han gave her a cold glance, then shifted his gaze back to the crowd.

"Too much talk! Leave the soldiers to you, I’ll handle the suicide warriors. This time, Ye Han owes you two lives."

Having said that, he didn’t wait for Su Pan’er’s response and transformed into a shadow, hurtling towards the crowd in the woods.

In a moment, two men in civilian clothes had fallen to the ground.

The crowd instantly descended into chaos!

This person really doesn’t even give a warning before he strikes!

Su Pan’er flicked her firewood knife, gently blowing on the blade.

"Old friend, today I must trouble you again!"

With that, she soared up and plunged directly into the crowd, swinging her firewood knife which created layers of shadows.

The whirlwind howled!

People could only see a dark shadow in the dim moonlight.

Next moment, their vision blackened, and they lost consciousness and fell with a bang on the ground.

Su Pan’er showed no sign of stop.

Strike while the enemy is sick!

Suddenly raising her hand, the dagger in her left hand pierced straight into the belly of an approaching soldier.

The soldier was completely baffled and stared blankly at Su Pan’er.

Su Pan’er, slippery as a loach, slightly dodged, suddenly stretched out her hand, grabbed a soldier who was climbing a tree beside her, and twisted him.

Crack!

Before the crisp sound of the broken neck had subsided, Su Pan’er glanced up at Fei’er squatting on the tree, and swiftly flashed to the other side.

Swish!

Swish!

Swish...

With a few slight brushes of wind, several people in the front still hadn’t realized what had happened. Their bodies fell to the ground with the horror of death on their faces.

These were the imperial court’s soldiers!

Having been used to swaggering about, when had they met a woman who killed without uttering a word?

The people who had rushed up afterwards looked at each other and involuntarily retreated, no one daring to step forward.

"Ah! I didn’t want to kill, but you forced my hand, you brought it upon yourselves."

The soldiers woke up and pointed their weapons at her, "You, you dare to openly oppose the imperial court, it seems you no longer wish to live!"

Su Pan’er’s deep eyes flashed coldly, "Anyone who dares to hurt me, dies!"

It is either you die or I do!

She was never kind-hearted, how could she let these people live to take her life!

"Kill this audacious woman!"

The soldiers were suddenly enraged!

They swarmed towards Su Pan’er.
