Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire
Chapter 175: Another Kind Of Battle

Chapter 175: Another Kind Of Battle

The hour passed and at the appointed time Julius made his way towards the Throne room, he awaited before the door, where two Praetorians were acting as doormen, their hands gripping the door handles waiting for the announcement indicating to those already in attendance the arrival of the Ruler of these lands.

and once the speaker had done so the double doors we swung open, Julius took long strides into the hall not choosing to glace around and headed straight to his throne, taking his place atop it, the door guards followed closely after him and stood on his diagonal sides while he took the throne.

Now seated he looked out at the hall before him,

The lined row of seats was presently only filled with 3 bodies, Zeff, with Miri beside him on one side, while Queen Serena was seated on the opposite side.

The dignitaries who’d arrived were all kneeling before this new monarch, though presumably the Ramie, and Christendom ones kept their bloodshot gazes fixed on the queen.

"Please stand various representatives of our neighbours" <Julius>

Having given his consent the assembled noble men, and messengers rose to their feet, raising their heads to stare at for the first time upon the man of many speculations.

Julius Aquitania, seated atop a marble throne first for a grand emperor, he was dressed in what many perceived to be an all-black military uniform with gold trim, his laurel crown resting atop his head.

Imposing was a word that fit perfectly as many of these men could not help but swallow their collective saliva upon laying eyes on the Grand Duke.

This is the man of the rumours, the incompetent lord who rose from rags to riches.

Who snubbed the armies of Visigoth single-handedly.

Who stole the bulk of Carthage’s navy while the country was ravaged from within.

"What brings you fine people to our domain?" <Julius>

The question was not without merit, for his kingdom was still in its infancy and while they might fear it, after having just subjugated a significant foe conquest would not likely be on the horizon.

The first to speak also would be the driving force behind the meeting, and it was with great admiration that the Germanic’s took that right.

"Thank you for your granting of an audience Grand Duke, my name is Humbert Geisslerg of the Germanic Confederation, we would first like to thank the Grand Duke for his mercy and for honouring our traditions. We hope that the men present here will serve you well till their oaths have been fulfilled." <Humbert Geisslerg>

The room sparked with whispers as the Germanic’s words were sinking in, their position was not hostile and they had instead instilled the belief of partnership among those else in attendance.

Humbert after saying his peace performed a quick bow towards the lined-up warriors who while not seated were present lining the wall fulfilling their duty as foreign retainers upon Julius’ command.

Dacia likewise followed up with remarks of gratitude.

Roserun meanwhile was slightly hostile in their attitude towards Julius.

"The Princess was not allowed to be in attendance for today’s meeting... your grace?" <Roserun>

"She is busy with the Army at the present moment sadly but we are expecting her to return to the capital within the month, please tell your King her health is fine, and she will be allowed a chance to return for a visit home once her duties are done." <Julius>

"Hmph" <Roserun>

"Enough!" <Ramie>

It was at this point court proceedings flew out the window, as the Ramie representative could not take being sidelined any longer.

"You will return the Grand Fleet to its rightful owners!" <Ramie>

"The Grand Fleet?" <Julius>

"That’s right! That fleet is the property of the Ramie Kingdom! If it is not returned you risk our King’s wrath upon your lands!" <Ramie>

"Such a fleet is not mine to give away for it is under the rightful ownership of the Carthaginian peoples, while it is to our understanding your kingdoms have taken over the territorial lands of Carthage following their descent into civil war, those not willing to participate fled the lands with their ships so, how can you lay claim to that which you never possessed?" <Julius>

Not heeding their threat of war at all Julius merely nonchalantly gave his reply.

The Ramie delegate’s head threatened to burst in anger.

"Those are not Carthaginians but rebels fleeing the country under the lead of the Whore Queen Serena who sits in your court...! It seems the Grand Duke has fallen to her charm as well." <Ramie>

"Serena is here as a representative of her people, you who deign not to respect that is not worth our time, apologies to the rest of you here but our meeting has come to an end." <Julius>

Julius rose from his throne at this point, Germania, and Dacia knelt down however The Principality, Roserun, and Ramie just glared at this impudent Grand Duke who was now throwing them out.

"Your refusal will be met with an appropriate answer here’s hoping you are ready for the consequences!" <Ramie>

Another threat was unleashed.

"Leave my world!" <Julius>

With a wave of his hand, flourishing his cape in the process the sheathed Heavenly demon rain could be seen, while the blade itself could not be seen it was pointed at the standing representatives...

Or rather at where they once stood.

The hall where the assembled delegate once stood now only had the Germania, and Dacia representatives remaining aside from the guards and retainers.

Julius had just implemented a national command to banish outsiders from his territory.

As such via Mana arts they were teleported outside his lands, since it was outside his lands he could not know where they would up, perhaps back to where they crossed the border, or worse yet somewhere random in the world itself.

This trick could be used but would anger those it was used upon, however to those who are already hostile it was just provocation, Ramie had limited land access to the grand duchy and their fleet could not compare against the stolen grand fleet even if they managed to capture all remaining ships of Carthage that were not located in the capital.

The principality was not overtly hostile but their representative was clearly on Ramie’s side, and as for Roserun well they were hostile and provoking Julius himself so they were ushered out of course.
