Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire -
Chapter 153: Return Home
Chapter 153: Return Home
The sailing from Carthage was achieved without incident, Zeff spent all his time with Miri, or training with the men on the deck of the ship.
Serena was locked into numerous discussions with Miri about Julius, the former Aquitania, and the new territory operating under the same name but in the position of Berthaquin and its surrounding territories.
Her questions were innumerable as it seemed this country that had yet to be formed was capable of just about anything.
Julius knows this of course, the twelve families who were the playable nations within the game each had their own strengths and weaknesses, some favour highly maneuverable but lightly armoured units, others favoured cavalry, while nations like Carthage preferred the navy.
Being a lord of none of the 12 he was as of yet not limited by the system from forming a multi-purpose force, as it stands now his burgeoning nation has an army, cavalry, and now naval force, perhaps not quite to the levels that would allow direct combat against the twelve just yet.
The voyage was relatively quick but still having the first break in a while Julius was able to examine himself for the first time in a while and cash in the rewards he’d accumulated during his time in Carthage.

Four battles worth?
I can account for 3 but how did evacuating the capital count in the experience gained?
And what are forced kills?
Even our trap against Visigoth did not net me this much of a personal gain in experience.

11 Levels not bad at all considering we technically brought about the fall of Carthage without a true standing army and got away with the bulk of their navy.
The number of points this netted me was enormous, always opting to keep some in reserve for the use of skills that required points to function but still using up some to up his power level further, and using some again to acquire a pair of new skills.
But rather than going for more offence or defensive skills, he chose to select utility skills.
The two drawn skills are [World Map], and [Command]

The new skills were just what he’d been hoping for, after all the game didn’t offer many utility skills so the odds of pulling just what you wanted were many times greater than choosing offence or defence options.

[World Map]
[Utility Skill]
[No charge for use]
[Brings up a current world map viewable only by the skill user]

The [World Map] Skill was advantageous in this era where news normally takes weeks or months to circulate, but now even if a war starts on the other side of the continent Julius will know about it, the map does not work based on only current territory lines, but as an invasion progresses if the system recognizes as that zone control having changed hands the map will update to reflect, as it stands now by using the skill he could easily deduce that Visigoth was still engaged in their 2nd war, while the Lunan remnants were maintaining their hold over the rest of bridge and lunan territory.
Carthage on the other hand was no longer represented on the map, instead, 2 of their neighbors had already started invasions, while the rest was divided into 5 separate listed duchies.
The greatest advantage of this skill is that any territory listed as under his command would give him total access to view, so even whilst at sea he could watch his own territory see how the development progress was going, and if in his absence any invasions had taken place.
Which thankfully had not, the development was going well, and the first number of ships had already arrived with the new immigrants setting up a new Carthage forming a port city that would make them feel the most at home in this strange new land.
The second skill was equally as useful for a ruler.

[Command]
[Utility Skill]
[No cost for use]
[Allows the deployment of remote commands to any unit, or armed force under your command]
______________________________________
The [Command] skill especially when used in conjunction with the [World Map] Skill was a lethal combination, by using the map you could see the position of your armies, and if engaged in defence you would be able to see all your enemies moves as well so long as the land remained in your zone of control, from there you could remotely make the general, or commander follow your order even if Julius was away at the capital, or already engaged in another battlefield.
These two skills together are the last bit, now he is ready.
With his return, he would be announcing the formation of a new nation, not one bearing the old names of Carthage, or Lunan but one that would bring about the resurrection of the empire, the true empire one bearing the old roman name, and one where as it’s Grand Duke, Eventual King, and Finally Emperor would take up his true family name once again as a Ceasar!
