Chapter 59: Tournament - Part 2

Chapter 59: Tournament - Part 2

On the stage, the Dust Valley Sect disciple stood confidently, staring at their opponent. Their first opponent was the Guo clan disciples.

Wang Jun stared at the Guo clan leading disciple with a challenging gaze. Feeling Wang Jun’s gaze, Guo Ming shivered and his hand trembled.

’How could our luck be this bad?’ he cried in his heart.

He had prayed not to meet the two sects and the three top clans.

Alas...

The spectators looked at the Guo clan disciples with pity. Of all people they could meet, how could their first match be against the Dust Valley Sect?

Standing on the judge’s podium, the three judges did not have any change in their expressions, and one of them shouted.

"Fight!"

Instantly, a thick tension filled the sky as all eyes were fixated on the Guo clan disciples. Are they going to surrender or fight?

Before the audience could react, Guo Ming shouted helplessly.

"We surrender."

Sigh!

A deep sigh escaped from the audience. Most of them had hoped they could see the power of the Dust Valley Sect. Unfortunately...

Leaving the stage, the Guo clan disciples lowered their heads in shame. They’d come to prove their clan’s power but only to surrender in the first battle.

However, the clan did not look down on them. Against a giant like the Dust Valley Sect, what could their little clan amount to?

Quickly, the next team was called.

This time, the arena pulsed with energy as two medium clans clashed in a fierce battle.

The fights were evenly matched, with each warrior displaying incredible skill and strategy, thrilling the spectators.

The sharp sound of weapons clashing reverberated through the air, while blood splattered onto the ground, igniting a deep excitement that made the crowd’s hearts race with anticipation.

In the end, the Deng clan won by a slight margin.

Most of the crowd could not believe a mortal rank battle could be this bloody. Out of the five disciples from the Deng clan, only two disciples were standing.

As for the others, they were covered in blood, laying sprawling on the ground.

With a prideful expression, the two Deng clan disciples carried their fellow clansmen and returned to their area.

Watching the Deng clan victory, the coliseum was charged with an electrifying atmosphere as they waited for the next contestant.

The next battle was between the Lei clan and another medium clan. As a top clan, it was easy for the Lei clan disciple to defeat their opponent with little to no problem.

Although the smaller clan were defeated, they raised their heads with pride. At least, they showed the strength of their clan, unlike the spineless Guo clan disciples.

Instantly, the Guo clan became everyone’s object of ridicule, but they did not care. There were still a lot of matches ahead, why would they bear an unnecessary injury?

With the Lei clan winning their first, the two other top clans could not wait to display their power. As hot-blooded youths, the electrifying atmosphere made their hearts pump with exhilaration.

The battle progressed quickly, and it was the turn of the Fang clan. Their opponent was the rising medium clan, the Xue clan.

The spectators were shouting, supporting the Fang clan disciples. As a top clan, they had many supporters in the audience.

Compared to them, the Xue clan had little fame. The only reason why they caught the attention of everyone was because they were mostly female.

Facing off the Fang clan disciple, the Xue clansmen did not have a change in their expressions. Each of them held twin daggers, gaze locked at their target.

Before the battle started, everyone had expected the Fang clan to defeat their opponents with ease. However, when the battle started, the result was beyond their imagination.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In less than five seconds, three of the Fang clansmen had been defeated, losing consciousness while the two strongest were struggling against their opponents.

How could this be?

Everyone was stunned. They could not believe the Xue clan disciples would be so fierce. Against them, the Fang clan disciples were weak mortals.

In the Fang clan pavilion, the Fang clan watched their clansmen pummeled like a sack bag before they lost consciousness in shock.

Before anyone could react, the Xue clan disciples had finished the two remaining Fang disciples.

All the Fang clan disciples lay sprawling on the ground, groaning in pain while some had fainted from the pain.

For a moment, the coliseum was quiet, all eyes on the five Xue clan disciples. Dressed in a black and blue robe, they were like ferocious tigers ready to pounce on their prey.

The three judges looked at them and nodded.

Without uttering a word, they left the stage with expressionless faces.

Mo Jian looked at the Xue disciples for a brief second before he resumed eating his snack.

Instantly, the Xue clan became the biggest dark horse since the tournament started.

While the audience were looking at the Xue clan with bright eyes, the stage had been cleaned, ready for the next battle.

The battle was between the Bai clan and another small clan.

Everyone hoped to see another miracle.

Unfortunately, the Bai clan defeated their opponent without any fanfare. Even though some were disappointed, they quickly got over it and looked at the quiet Radiant Sect disciple.

This was the last battle for the group stage, and it caught everyone’s attention.

Walking to the stage, everyone could feel the cold killing intent from the Radiant Sect disciple. It was like they were going to face their lifelong enemies.

Seeing this, the small clan disciples felt a cold shiver run down their spines. How could they fight against such killing intent?

Their leader wore a bittersweet smile and looked at his captain under the pavilion and saw him nod.

"We surrender."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Against such a cold-blooded Radiant Sect disciple, this was the best decision.

With their opponent giving up, the Radiant Sect disciple left the stage with no change in their expression.

With the first stage over, the tournament proceeded to the next stage immediately. It was an elimination tournament. Once you lose, you’re out.

Once again, it was the turn of the Dust Valley Sect disciple. This time around, their opponent did not give up.

They were from the Lai clan.

"Don’t ever think we’re going to give up without fighting," a stoic boy shouted. On his shoulder was a wide blade.

Wang Jun grinned, "Don’t worry, I’ll make you regret saying that."

The boy sneered, ready to pounce on the Dust Valley Sect and prove to the world the sect’s disciples could be defeated.

Listening to their short interaction, the crowd was boiling with excitement. Many were screaming for the Dust Valley Sect.

In the western region, no clan or sect could compare to the prestige of the Dust Valley Sect.

The moment the battle started; the Lai clan disciple rushed toward the Dust Valley Sect courageously while the stoic boy swung his wide blade toward Wang Jun.

As long as he defeated Wang Jun, the match was theirs to win.

Although his idea was good, he chose the wrong target.

Wang Jun evaded the blade attack with ease and appeared on the left side of the boy.

Seeing this, the boy was stunned. He did not expect his opponent could evade his attack with such ease.

"Shadow Fist."

Bang! Bang!

Wang Jun threw two punches in quick succession. The punches were so fast that it was difficult for the eyes to follow.

Ahhh!

The sound of bones shattering to pieces echoed in the now quiet area. Blood splashed out from the stoic boy’s mouth, his face pale, but he was far from escaping his nightmare.

What followed was a barrage of punches that tore through the boy’s face.

All his front teeth were sent flying. His face swollen like a pig’s head, blood coming out from his mouth, nose, and eyes.

It was not only the stoic boy that was pummeled so badly that many people from among the audience pitied. The other four were not any different.

Watching the brutal display, the Guo clan disciples were thankful that they surrendered right on time.

With such injury, how could any of them have any chance to continue the tournament?

Finally, the five Lai disciples could not withstand the beating any longer and fainted.

Now, they understood why the Dust Valley Sect was one of the hegemons of the region. Trying to fight them with their meager strength was inviting a beating.

On the stage, there were many mangled flesh scattered everywhere. Limbs and bones broken and turned at an impossible angle.

Mere looking at it sends a cold shiver down the spine of the audience and the opponents.

This was a message to the audience and to their opponents. They might be calm and smile like everyone else, but their brutality was no less than the Radiant Sect.

And indeed, they understood the message perfectly.

Returning to their pavilion, Wang Jun looked at Mo Jian with a grin.

"Captain, I’ve completed your order."
