Chapter 37: Eve Before The Battle.
The tension between the Dust Valley Sect and the Radiant Sect had reached a breaking point, one that even the common man could feel.
It had been three days since the Dust Valley Sect’s attack and their subsequent border blockade.
Everything in the Radiant Sect’s region had skyrocketed in price. The cost of food and daily necessities became exorbitant.
The rich and influential clans were still able to cope, but for the common man, it was hell.
On top of this, the people feared for their lives, dreading the horrifying vengeful spirits.
With these spirits venturing inland, they never left. Every night, they claimed new prey.
Many people had fled their homes. The situation had become so dire that entire families took refuge in towns and cities.
The Purple Mountain City.
Inside a massive estate in the city’s core area, three clan masters gathered in the main hall, their expressions grave as they discussed the crisis.
"What should we do?" the Fang Clan Master asked in a deep voice.
Their partnership with the Dust Valley Sect had placed enormous pressure on them.
They had planned to launch their Spirit Link sales this week, but under these conditions, they couldn’t.
Right now, no one cares about buying Spirit Links.
Everyone was focused on protecting their lives and families.
Looking at the other two clan masters, the Bai Clan Master smirked mysteriously.
"This is both an opportunity and a curse. It depends on how you play your cards," he said confidently.
"Why don’t you enlighten us? We’re all in this together," the Lei Clan Master said with a flattering smile.
"Hmph!" The Bai Clan Master snorted. "We’re not in this together. We’re competitors. Everyone must fend for themselves."
The other two clan masters exchanged bitter smiles.
It was an undeniable truth.
"So, who do you think will win between the sects?" the Fang Clan Master asked, shifting the topic.
"I don’t care, and I don’t think you do either," the Bai Clan Master said coldly.
"What I care about is making money..." He paused, deep in thought before adding,
"For the Dust Valley Sect to go against the Radiant Sect, they must have something to rely on."
"Hm..."
The other two clan masters hadn’t expected the shrewd Bai Clan Master to hold such a high opinion of the weaker Dust Valley Sect.
With this realization, both began adjusting their plans in their minds.
To them, profit was their primary concern.

Inside the Radiant Sect
At the back of a massive mountain, shrouded in mist all day long, stood a small, ordinary hut.
Slowly, the wooden door creaked open, and a withered old man with a long beard stepped out.
For a moment, he did not move. He took a deep breath, gazing at the peaceful scene around him.
Suddenly, he turned in a certain direction and asked coldly,
"What is so important that you dared to disturb my sleep?"
"A-Ancestor, I’m useless." The Sect Master fell to his knees.
"The Dust Valley Sect has grown strong, and we can no longer control them."
Hearing this, a deep frown marred the ancestor’s withered face.
"Tell me..." he commanded.
Quickly, the Sect Master recounted everything.
"Interesting..." The old man stroked his long beard, a fascinated expression on his face.
"That boy is quite capable... Unlike you, idiot."
Hearing the ancestor’s scolding, the Sect Master could only lower his head in shame.
Even though only a half-step separated him from the ancestor, the gap between them was like heaven and earth.
A peak Core Refining Stage-9 cultivator was nothing compared to a Half-Step Golden Core expert.
A Core Refining cultivator only had gaseous energy in his core, which was used to refine the core for the next stage.
A Golden Core expert, however, transformed this gaseous spiritual energy into liquid, granting them greater control, immense power, and extended battle endurance.
Thus, as a Half-Step Golden Core expert, the ancestor had already converted part of his gaseous spirit energy into liquid.
Once it was fully converted, he would become a full-fledged Golden Core Cultivator, extending his lifespan by over 500 years.
With the ancestor’s presence, they returned to the grand hall.
News of the ancestor’s return spread rapidly among the elders.
Instantly, all the elders rushed to the grand hall to meet him.
Seated on the main seat, the ancestor surveyed both the Supreme Elders and the regular elders.
"I just heard that you’re all useless and couldn’t handle the Dust Valley Sect," he scolded coldly.
No one dared utter a word.
They all lowered their heads, smiling bitterly.
Most had already grown accustomed to the ancestor’s foul mouth.
"Hmph! Get ready. I’m going to destroy the Dust Valley Sect once and for all."
"Huh?"
Everyone widened their eyes in disbelief.
They had not expected the ancestor to act immediately.
A bright smile crept up their faces.
They could already foresee the destruction of the Dust Valley Sect.

Dust Valley Sect
The sect was eerily quiet, and disciples were scarcely seen.
A palpable tension hung in the air.
All the elders were prepared for the impending war. They had been preparing for this moment for decades.
They raised their heads, watching the sky in patient anticipation.
At the highest peak, the Sect Master and his wife gazed in the direction of the Radiant Sect.
"The old man should be here any moment," his wife said coldly.
Their spies had already informed them of the Radiant Sect Ancestor’s return.
The Sect Master looked at his wife, his eyes filled with love.
"Thank you for choosing a commoner like me," he murmured.
"What are you saying? Do you want a quick beating before the old man arrives?" she teased, blushing.
"I wouldn’t mind... but that’s after we deal with the old man," he replied with a smile, gently holding her hand and caressing it.
Suddenly, a powerful pressure surged from the distance, shooting toward them at great speed.
"Finally, he’s here."
The Sect Master’s expression turned grave as he unsheathed his sword.
He turned to his wife and whispered,
"Till death."
"Till death."
