Chapter 33: Partnership Deal
"Licensing Agreement?!"
All three clan masters wore looks of confusion. Still, they read the papers with seriousness.
The more they read, the more shocked they became. Mo Jian had made it easy for them.
Compared to his previous world, this licensing agreement was nothing.
After ten minutes, all the clan masters had finished reading the agreement, and they looked at Zhao Tian in disbelief.
Even though this was the first time they had seen such a complicated contract, they were amazed at the level of detail captured in it.
"Did the Young Master really make this?" the Bai clan master asked, his voice trembling.
"Yes. Why? Is there something wrong with it?" Zhao Tian asked, his voice steady and calm.
"Ah! Nothing. This is great."
"Good. Have you decided?"
The clan masters did not respond. They looked at each other, unsure of what to say.
According to the Licensing Agreement:
They would be required to pay 10,000 middle-grade spirit stones every month to the Thousand Wealth Chamber.
Secondly, their rune masters and formation experts who would produce the Spirit Link would have to sign a soul contract with the Thousand Wealth Chamber.
Thirdly, the Thousand Wealth Chamber had the power to control the price of the Spirit Link.
Fourth, the Thousand Wealth Chamber could terminate the contract at any time if they were found breaching its terms.
There were more restrictions, but these were the most notable ones.
Thus, the shrewd clan masters remained silent. All their plans to manipulate the Thousand Wealth Chamber had been blocked, leaving them with no room to control the market.
"Can the Young Master reduce the monthly payment? 10,000 middle-grade spirit stones is too much," the Fang clan master said with a slight frown.
"Clan Master, what is written in that contract cannot be changed. Not even a word," Zhao Tian responded, his voice firm, giving no room for negotiation.
"The Young Master was already considerate of you because you’re the first clans to partner with us. Any clan that comes after you will have to pay 50,000 middle-grade spirit stones, and the contract will be even stricter."
"Thus, I hope you won’t push your luck when you’ve already been given the privilege of partnering with us."
’Huh?!’
Everyone inside the grand hall sucked in a cold breath. They did not expect Zhao Tian—or perhaps Mo Jian—to be so domineering.
These were clan masters with vast influence and wealth under their names. Yet, Mo Jian and the Thousand Wealth Chamber were not giving them any face.
Looking at the fatty, deep frowns appeared on the clan masters’ faces. How could this rascal talk to them like that?
Just as the Bai clan master was about to speak, he was interrupted by Zhao Tian.
"I know what you’re thinking, but there’s no need to worry about that." His voice was filled with confidence.
"Have you heard of the Blood Fury Arena?" he asked.
They nodded, unsure why he brought it up.
"The arena belongs to our Young Master. But that’s not all. We’ve created a weapon that is the bane of vengeful spirits. Do you know what that means?"
"Ordinary people no longer have to fear vengeful wisps. With these weapons, they can kill them as easily as if they were ordinary beasts."
"To get these powerful weapons, you only need to fight in the arena and participate in vengeful spirit hunts. Apart from the weapons, warriors can earn hundreds of thousands in the arena."
"Anyone who wins 100 consecutive battles will win 1 million middle-grade spirit stones."
"Now, guess how many people are rushing to the border as we speak?" Zhao Tian paused, his face filled with pride and confidence.
The Sect Master and the two supreme elders sucked in a cold breath, their hearts pounding heavily against their chests.
1 million middle-grade spirit stones.
That was insane!
If they were rogue cultivators, they wouldn’t hesitate to rush to the border to fight.
With 1 million middle-grade spirit stones, they wouldn’t have to worry about their expenses for decades.
Even the clan masters couldn’t believe their ears. They were shaken to their core.
They usually boasted about their wealth and resources, but compared to 1 million middle-grade spirit stones...
All their assets were nothing.
Taking a deep breath, the Bai clan master asked in a low, trembling voice.
"What does this have to do with us?"
"Hahaha! The Young Master guessed correctly. You’re all short-sighted." Zhao Tian did not hesitate to mock them.
He raised his chest and clasped his hands behind his back.
’This rascal!’ Supreme Elder Zhao smiled bitterly.
Zhao Tian continued, unfazed by the piercing gazes directed at him.
"With such a massive project, how can you not see the opportunity? Since you’re our partners, you can build inns, stores, and more businesses around the arena."
’Whoa!’
Everyone widened their eyes. They had overlooked the commercial potential of the area surrounding the arena.
Seated on the main throne, the Sect Master sighed and shook his head.
’Why would that rascal give such a huge pie to outsiders?’
The supreme elders were thinking the same. With the Blood Fury Arena’s rising fame, it was only a matter of time before the land surrounding it became a gold mine.
"So, what do you decide? I have a lot of work to do," Zhao Tian said impatiently as he took out his Noble Grade Spirit Link.
"Huh?! So many messages..."
Watching Zhao Tian’s casual behavior, the clan masters sighed in resignation.
What could they do?
Could they afford to miss such a golden opportunity?
"When will the Young Master start selling the weapons?" the Lei clan master asked.
"I don’t know."
"Will the Young Master sell them to us once they’re available?"
"Of course. Why do you think you’re our partners?"
When they heard this, light smiles appeared on the clan masters’ faces.
"My Bai Clan accepts the contract," the Bai clan master declared confidently.
Quickly, the other clan masters followed suit, accepting the Licensing Agreement.
Seeing this, the Sect Master and the two supreme elders could hardly believe their eyes.
These clan masters were proud and arrogant, never willing to submit to anyone—especially when it came to money.
Yet, in less than an hour, they had been conquered.
With such a strict contract, they had expected them to reject it.
Yet, they agreed.
How was this possible?
