Chapter 174: So Much That Can be Invented

Under the pavilion, Mo Jian sat surrounded by Yan Li and the others.

Staring at him, their faces were full of excitement and anticipation. They had many questions they wanted to ask him but did not want to seem rude.

Looking at their bright faces full of yearning, he knew these wolves would not let him escape without satiating their thirst for knowledge.

And this made him proud.

Never in his wildest dreams did he expect apprentice rune masters and artifact refinement masters would have such zeal toward knowledge.

Starting the Mystic Mechanic was just a spontaneous action from him. But now, he realized it had become his greatest achievement.

"I know you all have many questions..." He set down his teacup and straightened his back.

"I don’t have all day. Let’s begin and start with Yong Li."

When the group heard this, they straightened their backs and wore serious expressions.

Just like that, the young inventors began to exchange ideas. They were talking about concepts that were strange.

Any Artifact Refiner or Rune Master would be confused.

Talking about energy conversion, energy manipulation, conservation of energy.

Conductors, circuits, current, and more.

Before they knew it, they had been talking for over four hours.

The sun had already set, and the industrial complex was brightened by the Moon Orbs.

"I think this is enough for now," Mo Jian said, taking a sip from his tea to soothe his dry throat.

"Ah! Yes," Yan Li nodded with a bright smile.

With the short conversation, they had gained much from him. Many obscure questions that had eluded their minds had all been answered.

"Yong Li, I can see you’ve created a multilayer energy circuit for the Moon Orb," Mo Jian said, looking at the various Moon Orbs around the industrial complex.

"Yes, Young Master..." Yong Li replied with a light smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"This is all from your suggestion, and when I wanted to improve it further, I was faced with many problems. But now, I can complete the upgrade."

His voice was full of confidence.

Though he might not be as talented as Mo Jian, with his continuous research, he had discovered many things, and with Mo Jian teaching him.

It was only a matter of time before he rose to greater heights.

"Good. I’ll be waiting for the result," Mo Jian nodded and turned to look at Xiu Xu.

Feeling Mo Jian’s gaze, she bit the corner of her lip. "Young Master, after the No-Heat Oven, I’ve been stuck. I don’t know what to do or how to upgrade it again."

Her voice was filled with sadness. Although she had not slacked in her research of fire and heat conversion.

Without direction, she was nothing but a headless chicken.

Mo Jian looked at her and asked, "Why didn’t you inform me?"

"Y-Young Master, why would I bother you with my problem? Besides, I believed it was only a matter of time before I found my path," Xiu Xu said, forcing out a smile everyone could see the sadness in her voice.

A deep sigh escaped Mo Jian’s lips, and he shook his head.

"Listen carefully, all of you..." He began, his voice low and solemn.

"On the path of innovation and creation, sometimes you hit a roadblock. Instead of being stubborn, try to find a solution or ask for help."

"No one is an island of knowledge. Seek others’ opinions. This would prevent you from going down the rabbit hole."

"For Xiu Xu, you might have started with the No-Heat Stove, but that doesn’t mean you must be fixated on it. Your research is on fire and heat. Who says you can only focus on household artifacts?" He questioned, his voice sharp and commanding.

"Humans and beasts have heat in them. Have you ever thought of creating an artifact to detect this heat?"

"With such an artifact, everyone could know their temperature. Apart from that, you can use these artifacts to detect people and beasts from the amount of heat they emit."

"What about weapons that can be locked onto enemies’ heat signatures? With such a weapon, you can stay ten miles away and kill your enemies. Have you thought about that?"

Listening to Mo Jian, everyone was stunned. They had not imagined the common, ordinary heat could have such diverse uses.

Xiu Xu had her mouth wide open in bewilderment.

She had been sad because she did not know how to upgrade her No-Heat Oven, thinking fire and heat had limited use.

But she was wrong. Too wrong.

She was nothing but a frog at the bottom of a well. Her shallow thinking had limited her understanding.

However, Mo Jian was far from done.

"Let’s not talk about those now. Let’s come down to your area of specialization—stoves and ovens."

"You said you don’t know how to upgrade your stoves and ovens. That’s nonsense," Mo Jian did not mince his words, sharp and deadly.

"Have you thought of creating a pot or kettle that could work with the No-Heat stoves?"

"For example, a pot that could cook food without supervision. Hmm? When the food is done, the No-Heat stove would switch off automatically."

"What about kettles? When the water boils, it switches off?"

Mo Jian paused and took a sip from his spirit, but no one dared to breathe too loudly. Their shock was palpable on their faces.

"Let’s talk about the oven. You can automate it. What do I mean by this? A cook who wants to bake would only need to set the oven to bake, and the oven would control the heat to bake. When done, it switches off or makes a sound."

"For cooking beasts, people had to monitor it closely, but you can make the oven cook the beast without supervision."

"These are just a few examples of thousands of things out there you can create. Don’t limit yourself to a box. And if you don’t know what to do? Ask those using your product; they would give ideas on what to do next."

When Mo Jian stopped talking and relaxed in his seat, the pavilion was quiet for a moment.

Finally, Xiu Xu broke the silence. "Young Master, thank you for teaching. This Xu will never forget your lesson."

"Remember, there is no end to creation," Mo Jian said calmly.

He knew their vision was limited. Thus, it was only right for them not to understand the power of the knowledge they carried.

"Where is Elder Luo Zhen?" He asked, looking at Zhao Tian. "Also, I want to ask about Elder Li Huang. What has she been up to in the past few months?"
