Chapter 1671: Chapter 614: Lu Mountain Charm Records, Elder Sang Blocks the Way_3
"As for the third one, it’s still lacking some refinement. I will have it delivered to you once I finish crafting it in a few days."
"Also, in case the lower-order cultivators of Qingyang Store fail to comprehend the essence of these talismans and sell them at unfair prices, I’ve specially prepared a comprehensive manual on talismans that details their specific intricacies."
Luo Chen accepted a storage bag, as well as a freshly transcribed book.
"Lu Mountain Charm Records"
Luo Chen raised an eyebrow, "Friend, you are meticulous."
Lu Shanjun shook her head, "It’s merely a means of livelihood. Naturally, I must be focused."
"Since that’s the case, I shall take my leave for now. Friend, once the ten-year term is completed, you are welcome to visit me in Penghu."
Luo Chen cupped his hands in salute, and then leapt skyward, flying out toward the outer edge of Quyang Island.
By the coastline, after waiting for a short moment, a massive figure surfaced from the depths of the sea.
It was Black King.
His Dao cultivation had recently advanced significantly, making him even more unwilling to remain inside the space of the Primordial Chaos Tripod.
In his words, the space within was akin to a prison; unless asleep, he would rather avoid entering it for the rest of his life.
Luo Chen did not insist. Conveniently, it would take several days to return, and he didn’t wish to waste Qi Power controlling a flying boat. Thus, he decided to use Black King as his means of transportation.
Leaping onto Black King’s back, Luo Chen sat cross-legged in meditation.
With a slight shift in his Qi Power, a Glass Sky Canopy shielded his body, cutting him off from the wind and rain of the outer world.
Black King let out a joyous cry and submerged into the water, speeding toward the headquarters of the Ten Thousand Immortals Gathering at an extraordinary pace.
...
With Black King’s swiftness, the time to return to the Hidden Dragon Mountain Range would certainly be faster than by flying boat.
With nothing to do, Luo Chen decided to open the book given to him by Lu Shanjun.
Its name: "Lu Mountain Charm Records." Clearly it was a record of her studies in talismans.
Upon skimming its contents, Luo Chen found something unexpected.
The book not only contained information about the talismans she personally crafted, but also included a compiled guide to creating basic low-order talismans.
This portion, however, could only be accessed by reading with Divine Consciousness.
"What is this? A favor returned in kind?"
Luo Chen chuckled softly, half-amused and half-perplexed.
Though he had lessened his own profit for her benefit, it was still ultimately motivated by his larger interests.
Unexpectedly, Lu Shanjun turned out to be someone who could not tolerate owing favors, and in return gifted him an introductory manual to talisman making.
Even from a cursory glance, Luo Chen noticed that following the instructions outlined in the book could lay a solid foundation, enabling one to eventually become a proficient low-order talisman maker with time.
"This Lu Shanjun is someone worth befriending."
Luo Chen sighed deeply and continued studying the book.
However, his attitude shifted from earlier casual amusement to a more focused approach.
The reason? Among the Four Arts of Alchemy, Formation, Tool Refining, and Talisman, the one most inherently suited for him turned out to not be formations or tool casting, nor even his prideful Pill Refinement Technique, but instead talisman-making!
The essence of talisman-making lies in preserving the techniques a cultivator is proficient in on unique talisman papers through special craftsmanship.
In other words, the deeper a cultivator’s understanding of techniques, the greater the enhancement in talisman-making.
And of all Luo Chen’s methods, it was his understanding and talent in techniques that shone brightest!
At present, Luo Chen needed to focus his energy on refining the Demon Emperor’s Metamorphosis and on his cultivation, leaving him no room for dual practice with talisman-making. Yet, gaining more knowledge about it could only benefit him.
...
As Luo Chen concentrated intently on reading "Lu Mountain Charm Records," time flew by unnoticed.
Black King pressed forward relentlessly, leaving the unfamiliar landscapes along the journey fading behind him like scenes in a reverse-played film.
As they were about to leave the Quyang Sea Area.
Suddenly.
Black King’s movement came to an abrupt halt.
Luo Chen furrowed his brow and raised his head from beneath the water’s surface.
Above him, a voice echoed down.
"Qingyang Zi, traveling alone—doesn’t it grow tedious? Why not join us on the boat for a while?"
With a gentle tap on Flood Dragon’s gold-and-iron-like scales, Black King understood the intent, and his massive body floated upward slowly.
Emerging from beneath the sea, a red-robed Daoist cloaked in a faint blue water barrier appeared, riding a Flood Dragon.
High above in the sky, a grand luxurious flying boat hovered, surveying them from on high.
From its deck, bursts of exclamations rang out at the sight.
Luo Chen paid them no mind, focusing his attention solely on the wrinkled-faced elder standing at the bow of the boat.
"Sang Jiugong!"
