Chapter 96. Return
Chapter 96: 96. Return
Dylan and Anna’s side
Dylan looked at the phone in his hand, thinking about the news that Mark sent not long ago. It has been nearly three hours yet Mark hadn’t come back yet.
That man said that they will return in two hours in estimation based on the journey.
Even if they were somewhat delayed because it was dark, they wouldn’t be delayed for so long, would they?
Dylan frowned.
"Meow?" Kitty saw Dylan was sitting dazedly. He tugged the man’s trouser, trying to attract the man’s attention.
"I’m fine, Kitty." Dylan patted Kitty’s head and then looked at Anna.
For the past three hours or so, the two of them were cleaning their respective bedroom. Anna has already cleaned up everything and prepared the backpack and also boxes that she will bring if they were about to go.
There was also the ration from the kitchen that they put in the boxes, ready to be taken away.
"Mark and Lucy is not back yet?" Anna suddenly asked with a frown when she came to Dylan’s side.
She guessed that Lucy didn’t bring her phone when there was no message from Lucy at all. This girl is surprisingly stupid at times and could even forget such an important thing.
"They should be back soon." Dylan was also worried but he didn’t want to make Anna worry all the time.
They couldn’t really do anything now.
Anna pursed her lips and walked to the balcony. She took out the binocular and looked into the distance with it.
The water was not quiet.
There were several people who returned to the buildings nearby.
The people who were still alive in their building has decreased rapidly due to the chaos in the morning. Many people were screaming with anger because they knew that if these people had waited a bit more, the rain would stop.
Is it really necessary for them to kill each other like that?
But there was no medicine for regret.
They could only live on with pain.
"They’re not coming here." Anna shook her head in disappointment.
"Just wait a bit more. They will return back soon, Sister Anna," Dylan tried his best to reassure Anna. It was unknown whether his words were actually intended for himself to hear or for Anna.
"When we go from here, I’ll give the key to them." Anna pursed her lips. "I don’t think Mark and Lucy has the plan to go from this apartment anytime soon."
Dylan nodded.
He tried to ask his other friends who were staying in the base’s area. His friend told him that the building of the base was still ongoing and the specifics rules have only been announced and implemented for the next situation.
Many people were separated into several groups.
They would make the wall, search for supplies, search for survivors, and many others.
The situation was not very good at the time being and it was quite chaotic with fights from time to time. But because the one in charge was the people from military and their weapons were quite complete, the people didn’t dare to make trouble after some examples.
They were working honestly.
After all, everyone wanted a place to live.
If they didn’t work hard, it was estimated that many people would not be able to survive in the slightest bit.
The food and supplies were only given to those who do their work.
The rest?
Sorry, if you don’t work, there’s no food for you.
Dylan had to say that these people who stayed first will definitely have the benefit of having the power in hand. But he didn’t want to go there and being ordered by others again and again.
Besides, even if it was said to be a base, there were still many people who came and didn’t want to follow the rules and caused disturbance.
It was too chaotic.
Di! Di!
"There’s a message." Dylan’s attention returned to his phone. Upon seeing the message on his phone, his eyes lit up. "Mark is going back. We’re asked to go down and help him to carry the things they brought."
"Great." Anna nodded happily.
She quickly took ropes and also a large bag to help carrying things. Since she was weaker, then she will use these items to help.
"Let’s go."
"Um."
...
Mark and Lucy’s side.
Splash! Splash!
A gunfight battle could be said to be extremely quick.
Everything was over in a flash.
With a few shot, several people died and would never have the chance to see tomorrow’s sun anymore.
"They’re dead." Mark took a deep breath and sighed. There were only 8 people on the opponent’s side with three people carrying gun with them.
The leader and two people who were staying behind.
These guns were used to threaten and intimidate people who came here so that this group of people could rob them.
Against normal people, it would work.
But not for Mark and Lucy.
"Um." Lucy could feel her hand trembled slightly but she composed herself quickly. From the moment she decided to enter military affiliated high school, she was determined to become a soldier. And how could a soldier not have their hands stained with blood?
Unless you stayed at the back and worked in the administrator position, there will be time when their hands would be completely stained with blood.
In that quick battle, she shot the man on the back while Mark aimed at the leader.
Everything happened so fast.
The bullets were already fired quickly and all eight people on the opposite side fell down one after another.
Life is very fragile.
It seemed to be showing just how easy it was to take a person’s life.
One shot is all they needed.
"Are you alright?" Mark asked after confirming once more that these people had died. He turned his head to look at Lucy.
"Um." Lucy nodded.
"Let’s look at their belongings."
"We rob them?" Lucy had a strange expression on her face when she asked this.
