Chapter 64. Mental Strength
Chapter 64: 64. Mental Strength
"It’s impossible to talk with them about this." Dylan shook his head.
Anna shrugged.
The two of them looked at each other helplessly.
Oh well, let this pair of lovebirds play around with each other. Anyway, they still have enough water.
"I’ll prepare warm water for them. Did you connect the electricity with the bathroom?"
"Yes, but the tank is empty."
"Oh right. I’ll fill it up with the bathwater."
"You also collect bath water?" Dylan arched his eyebrows. He thought that they will only collect drinking water.
"I want to take a bath and it’s impossible not to collect them." Anna went to her apartment and silently took out a large bag and then poured the bathwater from her space into the plastic bags.
Looking at the water that was pouring out from her hand, Anna suddenly felt that it was truly like the stories she read about people with water abilities...
Oh well, what is she thinking about?
Anna shook her head to erase the thoughts.
After the plastic bag was filled, she brought it back to Dylan’s apartment and then poured the water into the tank and then let the water heater works.
"Maybe I can bring a bucket to take a bath myself later," Anna commented.
"Sure." Dylan chuckled. He looked at the two wet figure who had already finished filling the two large plastic bags with water. "Are you done? Take a bath first."
"Got it!" Lucy grinned. "You can eat first. We’ll join in later."
Dylan’s face darkened. "You better not break anything in the bathroom and don’t forget to clean up after you’re done."
"Got it."
The two of them went to the bathroom one after another.
Anna looked in their direction for a moment before turning her head to look at Dylan. "Are they...?"
"What do you think a couple will do if they take a bath together?" Dylan asked back.
Anna was silent and looked away, her cheek flushed slightly.
She was not stupid and naturally knew about this too.
"Let’s eat first?" Dylan asked helplessly.
If only it was possible, he wanted to kick those two out and not let them mess in his bathroom. But it didn’t seem to be possible at all.
He could only pretend that he knew nothing.
"Ok."
"Meow~."
"You eat too, Kitty."
"Meow~." Kitty happily went to Anna’s lap and purred as Anna shared some food with him.
Dylan and Anna eat quickly before going back to their room.
Today is Lucy’s turn to keep guard.
After she had finished taking a bath and playing with Mark, she will start to do her duty.
"Dylan."
"Yes, Sister Anna?" Dylan turned around when he heard her calling.
"That... Um, do you have the recording of the night two days ago?" Anna recalled that she was thinking about this matter before. But because she was with Mark and Lucy, it was not very convenient to ask Dylan about this.
Dylan paused for a moment before nodding his head.
"I put the screen to face the metal doors to see if there’s anyone who come up and bother us without the need for us to get out," Dylan said quietly. "So there’s no recording of your appearance."
Anna blinked her eyes, unsure about Dylan’s words.
"I can show you the recording if you want to." Dylan smiled helplessly. He took out his phone and entered the app for the cameras outside his room. He connected the generator to the camera so that it would be useful.
Anna moved her eyes and saw the screen.
It was the night two days ago when the two people were outside the metal doors, facing her.
But the camera’s angle didn’t catch her figure at all.
Her seat was a distance away from the metal door because Anna knew that she wouldn’t be able to fight against these people in terms of close combats. To make sure that she would be able to stay safe, Anna put her chair a distance away from the metal door.
"See, you’re not inside. So you don’t have to worry," Dylan reassured Anna. "There’s no voice here, but those who could read lips will see that they’re the one provoking you. If you’re still worried, I can delete the recording."
Anna raised her head and looked at Dylan. "Delete it. You’re the one who clean up afterwards and appeared in the screen."
On the screen, it was the image of Dylan stepping forward to deal with the aftermath. No one could see who shot them before, but they would definitely think that it was Dylan just based on this recording.
Dylan arched his eyebrows and nodded. "Got it."
"Be careful in the future," Anna reminded in a low voice and then turned around.
Dylan watched Anna’s back and showed a faint smile. He knew that she was worried about him because he was the one who cleaned it up. If there were any evidences left, the incident might be pulled back to him.
It would be hard to wash in the future without sufficient evidences.
"Silly girl. You’re the one who should be worried," Dylan murmured in a low voice.
Anna didn’t know what Dylan was thinking, but if she heard his words, she might be able to guess that he was worried that the bullet striation would be matched to her gun.
After all, her gun is registered.
Even though it has never been used for any crimes or anything like that, it was still under her name.
On normal times, the investigators will definitely try to find out about the killer through the bullet striation and matched it with the database.
However, the gun Anna took out was actually not her gun.
It was the gun she found inside her father’s warehouse.
Her own gun was kept in the space but she didn’t choose to use it and instead used this gun that was not registered to her.
This way, no one will be able to connect this case to her even if they found out.
Only the recording is the evidence left.
With Dylan destroying the recording, nothing will be left from this incident.
