"It’s very bloody," Anna murmured.

Kitty looked at the scene and then looked up at Dylan. "Meow." It didn’t seem to be better than when it was his turn.

Dylan laughed lightly. "Well, let’s continue. Keep the corpses in your space, Sister Anna~."

"I know." Anna chuckled.

Keeping these big mutated animals’ corpses, they continued to make their way around here, killing any big mutated animals that appeared in front of them.

Perhaps, due to the influence of the dull powder incident previously, there were more big mutated animals around here. While they could be said to be quite dangerous for other people, but it was nothing much for Dylan, Anna, and Kitty.

Now, they had finished working and Jill was staring at her phone in daze, seemingly thinking something.

"Jake, what do you think of Anna?"

The name made Jake paused.

When he chose to be with Betty, Jake had to say that he didn’t have much thoughts about Anna and didn’t feel anything more with her. The years of affection that should have influenced him was completely tossed to the side.

He felt that Betty was much better and that there was no point with him staying with Anna.

Thus, Jake didn’t care too much.

But when she truly ignored him and even treated him coldly, Jake started to pay more attention to Anna. It was just that after that, they were separated by such a long distance, so Jake no longer thought about Anna and instead focused his attention Betty, who was by his side.

Betty gave all of her attention to him, making Jake felt satisfied and happy. For him, he liked the attention given to him and all.

And the live in Sunshine Base was pretty good.

After that, these big mutated animals appeared and humans also started to awakened their abilities. Jake was included among them and naturally felt the surging power in his body, which made him even more excited and happy.

Jake wanted to be able to do whatever he wanted to do.

And this ability was only making his confidence rise again and again.

After having the ability, Jake started to look down on those people who didn’t have any ability because he felt that they would never be able to reach the same as him. He had a bright future ahead while they would remain at the bottom without any ability whatsoever.

Thus, he didn’t pay attention to them.

And his behavior was the norm in Sunshine Base as many other awakened also held the same thoughts. From the moment they started to wield the ability that was far from what ordinary people could possibly have, they were already different.

They would reach further far away in their path.

While the others would remain the same and would never ever see through the very end.

Thus, Jake didn’t care about them in the slightest bit.

But then what he faced was not these competitors and ordinary humans, but the big mutated animals. They were giving off the hard slap about reality towards these awakened people who were so full of themselves in Sunshine Base.

Many of them couldn’t face these big mutated animals and died instantly, not even given the chance to use their abilities they were so proud of.

Jake also realized that even if he was awakened, there were these big mutated animals waiting for him.

So he gritted his teeth and had to use his ability to the fullest to fight these big mutated animals.

And even after all that, Sunshine Base was destroyed.

It seemed as if the world was laughing at him and his family, reducing what they had built so hard to ashes in but a moment. Jake felt the world was truly unfair at that moment and wished that he could become so much stronger that these big mutated animals would never be able to look down on him.

Later on, Jake found himself moving to City A Base. Here, he found out that the ability he awakened and feeling so proud of was nothing much. Many people were much more powerful than him.

He could only use his ability to do the weakest job and had to be strict with his life.

He hated it.

In the past, he never had to worry about food, living, and so on.

Everything was already prepared for him on the silver platter, ready for him to use in accordance to what he wanted. All he needed was to open his mouth.
