Chapter 396. The Report
Chapter 396: 396. The Report
While Uncle Darien was thinking, the door was knocked and Lucas walked in. It could be said that Lucas was already a regular to pay a visit to him. Mostly it was because of those two old foggies who wanted to send some messages but didn’t dare to be so blatant.
Even if the surface was fine, the tension in City A Base was actually quite high and there were a lot of people who were not feeling too well.
Well, or one should say that they were trying to take advantage of others and might want to make their moves. So the others were all being careful and didn’t dare to so blatantly formed their little clique.
Even if it was known that there were three groups here, namely he and the other two military family Raymond and Jules, the two Davis and Mason Family, and the last one was the two newly emerging people. But since the relationship between Davis and Mason Family cracked and seemed to be full of gunpowder, everyone tried their best not to show their favoritism.
This way, the situation was more muddled now.
"What is it, Lucas?"
"There are two things, Leader Darien," Lucas replied. "There’s a sighting of a large number of giant mutated animals not far from City C Base and they requested for help. However, not many bases are willing to help because of the distance."
After this apocalypse happened, it was not like these bases didn’t want to help each other. It was mainly because communication between bases were still able to be done but paying a direct visit was much more harder.
The distance between the two cities were by no means short.
Not to mention, many of the roads were destroyed and hadn’t been repaired. Because if they did repair it, they couldn’t maintain it intact when there were so many giant mutated animals out there.
This project required a long time and might not be able to be finished anytime soon.
Uncle Darien also knew about this and felt rather helpless about it. For their City A Base, they were the closest towards City B Base.
The road repair was still ongoing along with the rapid expansion to the base.
Now, there have made a relatively lower area on the hill and there were many people who lived there. They were mostly the refugee from other bases that got destroyed during this period of time.
It seemed that City A Base would be divided into three layer. The outer, inner, and finally the central area.
But with their own expansion, it was not a strange thing for things to develop this way.
Many bases were destroyed by the giant mutated animals’ attack and thus, the number of bases were much smaller now.
The official bases were all still standing, though.
They could withstand the attack from these giant mutated animals better, but the situation on each bases were different. Some were able to hold on well while some others suffered more.
"We can’t go to City C," Uncle Darien said helplessly.
Even if he wanted to help City C Base against the attack of those giant mutated animals, they truly couldn’t do it.
The distance was simply too far away and it was really hard for them to moved away the military that they had built for such a long distance. The road was barely a third repaired from both sides and there were also some outposts that had been started to be built.
Those outposts were the like the watchers for them to know the current situation outside and had been placed in a distance away from the base.
The ruins of the city has been removed halfway, which in turn was built into these small outposts. There were not many has been built yet, but it would be useful for their defense in the future if these giant mutated animals were to come.
"Yes, but Leader Mamore wanted to go there with his people. It’s said that he recruited a lot of people from the refugee who come in the past few months after the attack of those giant mutated animals to come with him," Lucas replied.
For this matter, Uncle Darien had to be informed.
The division of power was also somewhat muddled for them even though there were indeed some clear division in some places. But for some matters, several leaders would be informed.
For this matter, Uncle Darien was informed aside from Uncle Matthias and Seocnd Uncle Kenan. The three of them were the few people who were in charge for this.
"He makes his own decision?" Uncle Darien frowned. He sneered, "Tell him, if he really wants to leave, then he could leave. I don’t care what he wants to do."
From the beginning, he could see that those two new leaders who were elected by the masses were simply people who were good with their words and promises. They just wanted power, so they made use of their connection that they built over the period of time and had them support them.
This way, if they wanted to do something, the power of the masses would be on his back and helped him.
Perhaps he knew that the situation in City A Base was not very good because of the muddling of the power, so he wanted to leave. In this case, Uncle Darien would just leave him be.
Even if the few people who followed him were powerful, but it was not like City A Base truly lacked so many people.
Among these people, the real powerful ones were the forces that the five leaders cultivated privately. And Uncle Darien also knew that his nephew was definitely at the top list if one wanted to ask about hidden power.
With his ability far higher than others, no one could come close to Dylan and Anna.
Uncle Darien didn’t really spar with Anna.
With the way Dylan was protecting Anna tightly, it was estimated that Dylan would wage another war against him first if he dared to try sparring with Anna.
