Chapter 377. Back to the Base
Chapter 377: 377. Back to the Base
Alicia was simply way too popular.
And not in a good way for some people because they wanted her to tell them about many things that happened in the future.
But because the limitation of her ability, she hadn’t been able to do that.
After eating with Anna and Dylan every day, they all could feel that their abilities were skyrocketing. They all cast envious gazes on both Anna and Dylan after almost every meal.
Because the two of them would be able to these kinds of meal almost every single day. On the other hand, they could only eat these when they were paying a short visit to Dylan’s place during this period of time.
Everyone was envious.
"So, we’re going back to the base now?" Lucy asked.
"Yes, there’s not much to do here either." Anna shrugged. She herself didn’t want to stay here for a long period of time. The main reason was because she couldn’t really allow herself to stay here any longer.
The amount of essence was recovering at a very slow rate and with the increase of her ability, the more essence Anna would need to increase her rank in the future.
Well, she didn’t know what her current rank is.
But she knew that her ability was getting stronger as time passed. And the only thing that she could do right now was to find a better place to practice. The base should be a good place since there were a lot of these essence.
Though, Anna didn’t know how these essences came to in the first place and why the world was changing.
But she knew that she had to move to other places to get more of the essences.
"Ok, then."
They all agreed to it and prepared themselves. Well, there was nothing much that had to be done before moving, so everything was done quickly.
Anna was already eager to go back. Due to staying in their small base for a long time, the essence that she could see around them had decreased a lot. For her training to be more effective and fast, she would need to absorb a lot of these essences.
Thus, she wanted to go to their apartment.
Thankfully, the two of them still had more than enough contribution points to extend the lease of their apartment. Even though the base itself would prioritize the usage of space to the limit because there were not many free space available, but they could still afford handing those two rooms.
After all, if they had enough resources and money, other things were easy to talk.
Both Anna and Dylan still paid for their rent for the two apartments, so the base didn’t say anything much to them.
"Hmm? I feel that there are more people outside now." Lucy was looking outside the car in confusion. There were so many people walking around and from their equipment and belongings, they looked like they were about to move their house and not just go outside to scavenge for resources.
And even if there were still some people who scavenged for resources, their number was not very big.
The resources all around the base had long been cleaned up by the people who were living in the base before. After all, they could exchange these resources for contribution points and many people chose to walk outside and braved themselves of the danger.
Well, there were not many danger at that time unless they were extremely unlucky to encounter a falling building that was rotting due to the flood and extreme weather.
Aside from that, their biggest threat was simply the other humans who might attack them because of the resources they have in their hands. But these robberies would not happen often, especially if they looked like they didn’t have anything much.
"They might be testing their abilities," Mark guessed.
With the snow disappearing, the people could move around easier now. The temperature had somehow returned to how it used to be and seemed to be rising slightly but it didn’t reach the point where it was unbearable like before.
It was already August and while it was a bit strange to feel the temperature still rising, they had started to adapt to the fact that the current world was no longer the same world as it used to be. The extreme temperature would always accompany their lives no matter whether they liked it or not.
And after being holed in their place for a long time due to the snowstorm, many people were eager to express themselves...
*cough*
Not really to express themselves, but more like to train themselves and also to free themselves from the restrains they had.
Some of them were dissatisfied with their status, which was why there was chaos not long ago. Thankfully, they all were not in the base, so they didn’t get swept with it. Just hearing what happened was rather scary.
Many people died in that chaos.
It was rather clear that aside from those mutated animals, the greatest threat was actually other human beings. Because of their greed, selfishness, dissatisfaction, and many others, they could attack the official base.
From what they managed to find out, this City A Base was not the only base that had riots and dissatisfaction. They had to rework the plan and also the city’s management method in order to cope up with the change.
Sooner or later, strength will be one of the category for them to be able to stand tall in this world.
"Testing their abilities?" Lucy felt rather strange when Mark said that. Their action didn’t seem to be people who were out there to test their abilities if she had to be honest.
Mark shrugged. It was just a guess from his side because he himself didn’t know what these people were doing.
"They’re not testing their abilities." Dylan glanced out and his eyes narrowed. "These people are moving to City A Base from the other base or other places."
