Chapter 373: 373. Banter

City A Base

"Dylan is still alive?" Brenda suddenly asked when she was reading the list of the casualties and others. There was a report that stated Dylan came out with Lucy and the others from the gate after the attack from the big mutated rats were over.

"Yes."

"That’s impossible." Brenda frowned and then ran to her bed.

She was absolutely sure that the notes didn’t write about Dylan having any ability that could help him avoid snipers and assassins during this period of time.

Lying on her bed, Brenda looked through the notepad she had.

She knew how important the things written inside was. It would have been impossible for her to remember everything, so she always carried them with her. After all, her ability is space and it was very convenient to put things inside.

Looking through the content, Brenda frowned.

"It might be because I changed things from the very beginning." Brenda looked at the name whom she had changed the fate from before the start of this apocalypse.

Anna Magnolia Williams.

In the notes, she should have followed Jake and stayed with him because he’s her fiancé. However, the two had a fallout in Sunshine Base, so Anna went to City A Base on her own and only then have some contact with Dylan.

But now, Anna had a fallout before the apocalypse and stayed with Dylan from the very beginning. Thus, some things might have been changed in between.

"Tsk, I don’t understand." Brenda sighed and looked at the ceiling.

Forget it, it was not that important.

The main reason why she wanted to kill him first was because she knew that he would become more powerful in the future.

’Now, I have to prepare everything for the next chaos and before the people from Sunshine Base come here.’

Brenda jumped up and went to her father. She had some things that she wanted to tell him.

...

"So, we’re really here to make the house by ourselves?" Mark asked as he put the tool he took from the van on the ground.

The snow had disappeared from this area because Dylan had already used his ability to clean up the snow before. As the temperature rise, it was only natural for the rest of the snow to melt and finally dry up.

Now, the ground was already looked like a normal ground here.

"Of course." Dylan grinned. "I have finally have free labor, so naturally I have to make use of this."

Mark rolled his eyes at Dylan’s answer.

Great, he came here and instead of achieving what he wanted, he ended up becoming a free worker for Dylan.

"We should have been paid for this," Lucy added.

"No." Dylan refused without hesitation. Since their parents had agreed for them to come here, then he had to make use of their ability.

"Then I’ll cheer for you guys." Alicia waved her hand.

"You come here to help!"

"No! I’m just a weak lady..."

"What lady is like you?"

They quarreled and laughed with each other. Anna also laughed and then said, "You just need to dig the area for the foundation and then I’ll use the plants to make the shape and to cover it before filling with the other materials."

"Then you say it first." Mark stopped the arguments and picked the shovel. Digging a hole was still menial work, but it was much better than before. If he had to build everything from the start to finish, then he had to say that it would be impossible.

He was not a professional builder.

"Haven’t you seen her built this small base before?" Dylan rolled his eyes.

"Come on, Dylan, you help too!"

"Why are you ordering me?"

In the end, all of them dug the ground together including Alicia. Though, her strength was the worst of them all, making her contribution to make the hole to be relatively small.

After that, they all watched as Anna started to use her ability and built the wooden house. They helped to fill the gaps and so on and in just one day, the house was more or less done.

Though, they would need to clean it up before it was used, so they would still sleep in other place for the first day.

On the second day onwards, they would be able to have their own house.

"To think that building one’s own house would be so satisfying." Lucy sighed and looked at the half finished building. "Today, I’m going to sleep with Sister Alicia!"

"Hey, hey, you’re abandoning your husband?"

"You can stay with Lucas for today."

Mark and Lucas looked at each other before both showing the look of disgust. Who would want to stay with a man when he had a beautiful wife?

Dylan stifled his laugh. "One of you can sleep in the living room if you don’t want to sleep in the same room. Just tell me and I’ll ask Sister Anna to prepare more beddings for you."

Mark and Lucas immediately stared at each other as if they were going on a war against each other.

After that, they shouted, "ROCK! PAPER! SCISSSOR!"

"ARE YOU FREAKING CHILDREN?"

Anna laughed out loud at the scene in front of her while Kitty showed the look of disgust. These people were even more childish than him when he quarreled with Dylan not long ago.

How shameful.

Dylan also chuckled and let Lucy pulled Mark’s ear to stop him from competing in other childish competition and shouted in that manner.

"Say, is your strength really that strong?" Alicia asked while they were still laughing while pointing at the trees that Anna made not long ago before it was cut in order to form the specific shape of the house.

Not only can she made the plants grow from the seeds, she could also let the plants have several branches.

"You will be able to get stronger too, Sister Alicia." Anna smiled. "Don’t worry, we’ll help to protect you during this period of time."
