Chapter 366. Alicia’s Request
Chapter 366: 366. Alicia’s Request
"Why do you say all these?" Dylan asked, his tone remained calm as he continued to drive. They were getting further away from the base and the snow was piling up even more. It would be hard for the van to continue moving forward at this case.
"I’m not your enemy and I’ll never be," Alicia said. "I just want you to protect me, protect me to be able to go through the dangerous period safely."
"Did you see anything?" Lucas asked worriedly.
"What I see can be changed." Alicia smiled. "It’s not a definite and someone is definitely interfering with it."
"Why?"
"Because there are some people whom I couldn’t see the future."
Couldn’t see the future?
Alicia saw everyone looked in her direction, but she turned her head to look in Anna’s direction. Whenever she tried to look at someone’s future, she only needed to think about that person’s name before going to sleep. Because after that, she would dream about them.
This was one of the few ways for her to control her ability. Sometimes, it didn’t work and she didn’t dream at all. For Alicia, those days were good because she didn’t have to worry about anything.
But when there was something that she was curious about, those days were the torture and she had to think about triggering her ability.
And among those names... there was one that never had any response.
Anna Magnolia Williams.
For more than a week, she tried to see Anna’s future, but she felt that something was blocking her from being able to see it. As if something was interfering with the written fate and thus, even she couldn’t see it.
She tried to pick Dylan and could still see some vague images. However, whenever Anna came into the picture, everything turned blurry. With Dylan spent most of his time with Anna, there were not many images that she could see about him.
Thus, she knew that her problem was Anna.
As for why, she didn’t know.
"It’s me, isn’t it?" Anna asked with a bitter smile.
She was thinking that it might have been the influence of her familly’s inheritance space. That space was able to do many things and might even be able to stop the probing of someone like Alicia who should have been able to see the future.
"I can’t see the future, but I can see the past." Alicia smiled faintly. "That’s why I can see that battle and know that the two of you are really powerful."
So powerful that even rank 4 mutated animals were nothing more than a joke in front of them.
"And you’re also assassinated this morning." Alicia went to take a short nap in order to try her ability in seeing the two’s situation. Seeing how they dealt with the assassins so quickly and neatly made her understood that the two of them were definitely the strongest people in their city.
As for other cities?
Who knows and who cares?
At the very least, Alicia didn’t care. Because those people were simply too far away from them. With so many mutated animals in the wilderness, especially those big mutated rats that could cause so much destruction, who would dare to come out of their base and traveled between cities?
It was estimated that no one would do that.
Their fear towards these big mutated rats would definitely intensify because she knew that many bases had been destroyed.
These big mutated rats would not stop at anything in order to find more food and energy to sustain their lives.
It was horrible.
*sigh*
"You’re no fun, Sister Alicia." Anna pouted. "And here I thought that I’ll show off my ability to you after we all reached the base."
Alicia smiled when she heard Anna’s response.
To be honest, this was more like a bet.
She knew that these two people were very powerful. Much more powerful than any other people out there. And by confronting them like this, she was basically laying all of her cards in front of them.
Alicia knew that her ability was of no use to make her body stronger or making her capable in fight.
It had nothing to do with it.
What she needed was to find a backer, someone who could help her and protect her. Someone who was strong enough to be able to overpower majority of the powerful people out there.
And at the same time, she needed someone she could trust.
Because she knew very well the ability to see a person’s future meant that she would be able to know what would happen to them later. And if this ability was used by someone who wanted to do the wrong thing, Alicia wouldn’t be able to stop them.
Unless she died.
But she wanted to live.
And she had found her answer when she saw the vision.
After knowing that she could only see Anna’s past and not future, she could guess that it should have happened recently. She contacted her uncle and requested to let her meet with Anna.
And even better, her uncle directly told her to leave with Anna, Mark, and the others.
Thus, it brought up to this scene.
"Haha, I need someone to protect me, so I have to say this upfront to make it clear," Alicia said with a smile.
"I don’t know anything about how you’re unable to see my future." Anna chuckled. "But Sister Alicia, you’re Mark’s cousin and also our friend, so we will protect you."
"I promised my father that," Mark said calmly.
"I liked Sister Alicia!" Lucy said confidently.
Lucas only shrugged and said, "You have known us for a long time. Do you really think that we’re the type to abandon our friends?"
Dylan chuckled. "Well, now that we’re clear about it, I’ll clear up the road to let us pass through. The snow here is a bit more annoying than what I thought at first."
"Are you going to use your ability?" Lucy grinned. "I was just thinking that I’ll just melt them all."
