Chapter 280: 280. Fever

The next day, Dylan looked at the door curiously. It was already 9 AM. Normally, Anna would have already woken up at this time and come to pay him a visit. They would have breakfast together from time to time.

Not to mention, they promised to help Anna to clean up and moved to his apartment today.

But Anna’s shadow couldn’t even be seen.

"Shall we check on her, Kitty?" Dylan asked as he patted the cat’s head beside him.

"Meow." Kitty nodded. He also wanted to see Anna.

"Let’s go."

The two of them got out of the apartment, armed with thick clothes. Kitty didn’t really need these thick coat. His fur was more than enough to keep himself warm. At least, he didn’t feel cold if they were not playing in the snow.

Knock! Knock!

"Sister Anna?" Dylan called.

There was no answer.

"Meow?" is she still sleeping?

Kitty tilted his head in confusion, wondering whether Anna was still sleeping at this time. Even though Anna was a bit lazy at times, she usually wakes up early in the morning.

Knock! Knock!

Dylan knocked the door again and called out, "Sister Anna?"

There was still no answer.

In the end, Dylan could only take out the key that Anna handed to him and unlocked the door. The two of them entered but found no sign of Anna’s presence in the living room. Anna hadn’t used the kitchen in a long time, which was something that Dylan knew.

Anna mentioned it before that she usually used her portable stove to cook because she was too lazy to set more heater in her apartment. There was no point in wasting electricity when she didn’t use much of it either.

Since Anna was not in the living room, she might be in the bedroom.

Knock! Knock!

Dylan knocked the door to the bedroom again. "Sister Anna?"

Kitty was looking at the door in front of him and then raised his paw to the door. "Meow!"

She’s inside.

Kitty was more sensitive to humans’ presence compared to Dylan. Even if Anna was separated by a door with him, he knew that Anna is inside.

"She’s inside?"

Dylan pushed the door handle and found the door unlocked. He quickly came inside and saw Anna lying on the bed. She was not wearing any blanket at all. Even though the temperature in her bedroom was kept warm with the heater, it was still not good for her not to wear blanket at all.

"Sister Anna?" Dylan stepped forward and held Anna’s hand. The moment they were in contact, he immediately sensed the hot temperature.

"She’s having a fever!"

"MEOW!"

"Damn it! Compress, compress... where the hell is this thing."

Dylan was not used to take care of others and took a long time to find everything he needed. The compress, the medicine and all. He tried to wake Anna up, but she didn’t respond.

He panicked a bit and quickly contacted Dr. Mike.

"Doctor Mike, are you busy right now?"

"No, I’m your grandfather’s personal doctor and aside from doing some consultation from time to time, I’ll stay at your uncle’s home," Dr. Mike replied. "Did something happen?"

"Anna has a fever."

Fever?

"I’ll go there."

"Please."

Dylan sat beside Anna’s bed, feeling nervous. At this time, he felt that the position of him and Anna were switched. Just a few days ago, Anna was waiting for him when he had a fever and now, it was Anna’s turn.

"Is it the same as mine?" Dylan murmured in a low voice.

He took some water to drink and calmed himself down. But he still felt that he couldn’t calm down at all.

It didn’t take long for Dr. Mike to come to the apartment. He used a bicycle and rushed to his place.

"Let me see." Dr. Mike checked Anna’s situation and furrowed his eyebrows. "She needs to drink medicine."

"I can’t wake her up at all."

"Then liquid medicine."

With that, Dr. Mike set up the IV drip for Anna.

Looking at how fast Dr. Mike worked, Dylan felt relieved. When he was sick, the hospital was full and Dr. Mike couldn’t come because of his uncle’s condition. Thankfully, he was able to wake up and drink medicine on his own.

But Anna was different.

She couldn’t wake up at all.

"Will she be alright?"

"If her fever come down later, she will be fine," Dr. Mike replied. "What happened? Did you exercise too much last night?"

Dylan’s face was black. "We’re sleeping separately last night! Damn you! Why are you asking about this?"

"Because it might be one of the possible cause for fever," Dr. Mike explained and seeing that Dylan’s face was getting darker, he chose not to continue. This young man had a very short temper in the matter regarding Anna. So it would be better for him not to say anything.

In case Dylan couldn’t hold back and ended up beating him up, Dr. Mike felt that he couldn’t accept it. He didn’t want to be beaten up for nothing.

"Meow." Kitty was lying beside Anna, worrying about Anna very much.

"Well, watch her temperature. If she can wake up, she better eats something like such as porridge or soup if she can’t eat anything hard," Dr. Mike said. "The hospital is still full but for the young madam of Daniels Family, they can try to empty one of the place for you."

"No need," Dylan replied. "There are too many people there and I don’t want to risk her going out in this temperature."

The temperature outside was still extremely cold and it would be very uncomfortable for them to go out. Anna was already having a high fever and Dylan didn’t want to let her suffer more than necessary.

"Alright if you say so," Dr. Mike said and then sat down on the side.

"You’re also staying here?"

"I’m observing the patient."

"You can wait outside."

"Tsk, I don’t have any thoughts towards your wife."
