I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 241. Sunshine Base
Chapter 241: 241. Sunshine Base
"Anna?" Lucy’s voice came from the phone.
"I’m fine. I’m just wondering about the situation in other base," Anna quickly replied.
"What could happen? Many of their leaders are now sick and might not be able to survive...." Lucy paused for a moment. "More than 10 people had died in the hospital alone in the past few hours. Their fever burned so badly and finally they couldn’t stand it and died."
Anna fell silence. "My condolences."
"I can only pray that Mark will be fine," Lucy said quietly and sighed deeply.
"Yes."
"Oh, the doctor is here. I’ll call you back later."
"Ok."
The call was cut off and Anna looked at the phone in front of her. For a moment, she wondered what was going on with her so called father and the others. But this thought only passed for a moment before it was gone again.
No matter whether they were still alive or dead, it had nothing to do with her. She didn’t want to have any connection whatsoever with them again in this life.
Anna put her phone away and continued to sit not far from Dylan, checking his temperature from time to time. She also changed the compress when it was no longer cool, hoping to reduce Dylan’s temperature.
...
Sunshine Base
Just like what Lucy said, many people fell sick at this time. Both the higher ups and the commoners were falling sick one by one. The hospital was crowded and many people who couldn’t afford the price of the contribution points could only stay at home.
From time to time, scream of despair and cries rang out.
Those who died during this period of time kept on increasing at the rate of one person every few minutes.
It was chaotic.
The temperature was very cold outside and many people have fever. It was really hard for them to keep the temperature high enough. Previously, they were trying their best not to wear too much because it was very hot.
Now, they felt that they never wore enough because it was very cold.
Williams Family was not much better.
Mr. Williams was sticking to Stafford Family and has been doing that ever since they came here. It could be said that he would do everything possible to latch onto the Stafford Family so that they could survive.
The end result was that Betty could stay with Jake and just follow him without doing anything else.
No one in her family would protest.
Even though Betty felt annoyed with her family member’s behavior, she also wanted to marry high and thus followed Jake. It looked as if she was his tail because no matter where Jake was, there would be Betty following him.
Jake also felt helpless about this.
His mother was angry with Betty, but he could only coax his family members. During this period of time, Betty was really sweet to him, bringing him back to their sweet memory and adding more.
So even if the temperature was really hot outside, the two of them were still together.
And now the temperature was really cold, the situation changed a bit.
Reason?
Naturally, it was because Jake fell sick early in the morning and everyone panicked to bring him to the hospital. What made it worse was that Mr. Williams also fell sick one hour afterwards, which made the two of them stay in the same ward together.
Thanks to their family’s position, they were still given medicine to reduce their fever. So even if their temperature was high, it was not life threatening.
"How come so many people fell sick at the same time?" Brian, Betty’s brother, was annoyed at this time. Because Betty only knew how to cry and cry, he was the one who had to take care of this matter.
His mother was not much better.
He felt really tired facing these two women in front of him. But one is his mother and the other is his sister, so he could only be patient and try his best to stay calm.
"How should I know?" Betty had red eyes as she sit beside Jake’s bed. She had just cried again not long ago.
Brian looked at his sister and snorted. "No one come to pay a visit?"
"Andy is sick too," Betty replied. "John has passed away, right? His older brother is going crazy rummaging around not long ago."
She was following Jake almost all the time, so she was still up to date for many news in the base. It also included the matter of Naele Family making chaos here and there as they were determined to find the murderer of John.
"Oh." Brian nodded lightly, not too surprised.
"What is it?" Betty saw that Brian was still looking in her direction.
"Your other friend... what’s her name?" Brian frowned for a moment and then said, "Brenda, right? She’s in Sunshine Base if I’m not wrong."
"Which Brenda?" Betty asked back.
Brian looked at Betty as if asking, ’There’s more than one Brenda?’
"Uh, Brenda that’s usually following me or Brenda Felicia Davis? The first one had separated from us in the apartment and the second one should be in the City A Base," Betty explained in annoyance.
Brian clearly didn’t have strong memory about Betty’s friend aside from the few that Brenda mentioned from time to time.
Those who were not her close friends were definitely not someone Brian knew.
"The one who follow you often. Father showed me the list of new people who enter and there’s Brenda’s name. She’s following one of the young master here... Uh, I forgot the name." Brian scratched the back of his head.
Betty’s eyes froze when she heard this and ruthlessness flashed within her eyes.
She naturally knew very well what happened to Brenda in that apartment and thus, she didn’t want to pay attention to her anymore. She thought that in such situation, Brenda would never appear again, but now she had come?
Then don’t blame her for being ruthless.
