Chapter 223. Back to the Base

Chapter 223: 223. Back to the Base

Boom!

Anna heard the sound of explosion in the distance and looked at the front. The base was right at the front and the truck headed straight to the gate.

It was only at this time Dylan slowed down the truck.

If they were too fast, they would crash to other cars nearby.

"It’s so dangerous?" Anna asked but it was clear that this kind of question didn’t’ really need to be answered.

"Indeed," Dylan said in a low voice. He took a deep breath and could still hear the shouts of Mark and the others from the phone. The phone should have fallen down because their voices were not very clear.

"Mark and the others...."

"They will be fine."

"Um..." Anna looked at the phone and slowly calmed down. Mark and Lucy had long decided to enter the military. Since it was the case, they would have to be prepared to face the risk that came from entering military.

"The thing might not be in our truck, so we’re safe," Dylan said lightly. There are a total of five trucks and they might have long determined which truck might carry the thing they were looking for.

"How do they know when all the boxes looked the same?" Anna was there when they loaded the boxes. There was none of them that had special mark or anything.

"I don’t know."

Anna: "..."

Dylan forced a smile on his face as he continued to drive the truck to the gate and let the guards there to check. After showing his ID, he was allowed to enter.

The mess from Mark’s phone had also stopped.

It seemed that they were retreating and no longer fought.

And from the sound of their voices, this group of people were alright. At most, they were a bit tired after shooting, fighting, and so on.

"Dylan."

"Yes?"

"When did you learn to drive like that?" Anna asked.

Dylan paused for a moment and then laughed lightly. "Are you worried, Sister Anna?"

"Uh huh." Anna narrowed her eyes. "Do you also like car racing?"

Car racing?

Dylan’s eyelids jumped. He remembered that Anna’s ex fiancé, that annoying man, liked to do car racing in the past. And it was said that Anna disliked it for some reasons and refused to accompany him.

"No, I don’t do car racing," Dylan quickly denied it.

What a joke, he was not lacking in money and had no interest to find the excitement brought by racing cars.

"Then..."

"I learn it in the past few weeks when going out," Dylan replied. "I controlled the speed and try to go faster and control my speed so that I can escape if it’s necessary."

He didn’t know if it was necessary or not, but he practiced his driving skill while he was doing some tasks lately. This way, he would be prepared in case there was something wrong.

Since he was going with truck occasionally, his control over his truck was also better now.

Anna looked at Dylan. "Can you teach me?"

Her driving skill was barely passable to earn driving license. But if she was asked to drive like Dylan just now, she estimated that she would crash first.

"Ok." Dylan agreed right away.

"Thank you!" Anna smiled brightly.

Dylan watched Anna’s smiling face and coughed lightly. He took his phone and tentatively called out, "Mark?"

"I’m here," Mark replied. "We’re driving back to the base now."

"How is it outside?"

"It’s fine," Mark’s tone sounded cold. "The mission might have been leaked out, so there are some problems with the other teams."

"One team is already here." Dylan looked at the truck that had stopped in front of the military area. He also drove here and saw that they were busy moving the boxes.

"I’ll go there soon."

"Ok."

The pass was with Mark, so Dylan waited outside. It didn’t take long for Mark and the others to come back and then busy to unload the boxes. These boxes were brought away once again and it was not known where it would be taken.

Anyway, it was not their business.

"Your missions are so dangerous like this every time?" Dylan asked after they were done. It was already evening and the sky was darkening.

"Not so dangerous." Mark shook his head. "We’re still rookies, so our missions are mostly quite easy. It’s just that this is an exception."

"I see."

"Don’t worry so much, I won’t die so easily."

"You better be or Lucy won’t forgive you."

Mark looked at Lucy, who was hugging Anna in the distance and nodded lightly.

At this time, Anna was also asking Lucy about the danger of the mission. But as usual, Lucy felt that Anna was worried too much. It might be a bit dangerous, but she was still able to protect herself well.

"You know my dream, so I’m not going to quit so easily," Lucy said with a grin.

"I know, I know." Anna patted Lucy’s head helplessly. "Be more careful when picking missions later."

"The missions are assigned and not something we can select." Lucy pouted. "Only when the ranking is higher can we possibly select the mission to go."

Anna looked at Lucy with a blank look. Clearly, she didn’t know about this.

Lucy laughed. "Go back and rest. It has been a tiring day today."

"Uh huh."

"Are you satisfied with the view of the lake before?" Lucy suddenly asked another question.

"Why are you asking?" Anna looked at Lucy with a strange expression. "I can’t really see anything different from the lake."

Lucy shrugged. "I can’t see anything either. Well, seeing those fierce animals are already quite interesting for me. Let’s hope not all animals will turn so fierce like that or farming will become impossible."

Anna heard Lucy’s words and had the faint feeling that Lucy was only worried whether she could eat meat or not in the future.

She looked at Lucy helplessly while the latter stuck out her tongue playfully.
