Chapter 161. Darien
Chapter 161: 161. Darien
"Hey." Dylan’s uncle, Uncle Darien, nodded at his nephew. He smiled brightly. "It’s good that you managed to come here. I thought you’re trapped somewhere and can’t come here."
"The flood is gone, so the road is opened again." Dylan looked back helplessly. "Isn’t it normal for me to come here, Second Uncle?"
"Good, good." Uncle Darien nodded.
"Ehem."
Old Master Daniels looked at these two people who talked with themselves and completely forgot about him. He’s such a big man over here, but his son and grandson can forget about him?
Ah, these two were really something.
"Father," Uncle Darien greeted his father and smiled helplessly. "I have already prepared your room. There’s also a separate parking lot for the people who live in the central area. It’s a large building that specifically dedicated for our cars."
"Good, did you bring your car?"
"Yes?"
"I’ll take my belongings with your car." Old Master Daniels passed a look at Dylan. "The car and the truck will be under your name and you can use it."
The truck?
Dylan looked at his grandfather helplessly. "Don’t you want to use the truck for yourself, Grandpa? You know that the base might need the truck more than me."
"It doesn’t matter. This brat can borrow from you if he needs it." Old Master Daniels waved his hand. "Let’s go."
"Ok."
Uncle Darien greeted the others and also asked their plans. When he heard that the others would live by themselves, he nodded in understanding. After all, they were all taught to be independent ever since they were young.
Since they could support themselves for the time being, they would not be so shameless and asked for help from their relatives.
Only when they truly couldn’t do it would they go to their parents cheekily.
It was already evening and the sun was no longer burning so much. However, the temperature was still very hot and the moment they stepped out of the hall, the difference in the temperature was a bit too much.
"This temperature is killing people...." Lucy groaned, feeling that the world was truly unkind to them.
This kind of temperature was more than enough to cook a lot of people. She was definitely not an exception because she already felt that her body was burning.
"The temperature is still rising, so it’s not easy for people to go to work," Uncle Darien replied. He was also worried about this, but the construction couldn’t be stopped. So all they could do was to supply water for free for the worker to help them withstand this scorching temperature.
Lucy nodded. "My cousin will come soon, I told him that we’re going to the car and then headed to the house first."
"Is it fine?"
"Yeah, he said that there’s a sudden emergency and so on. There are many things to do in the base, so I’m not very surprised," Lucy replied with a shrug.
It was not easy for them to free their time. Lucy’s cousin originally planned to meet with Lucy and Anna to take a look at the medicine that Anna mentioned. But since he had something else, the time was postponed.
Slowly, they made their way to the car.
By this time, they were already drenched and shook their head helplessly. Taking their water, they drank some water.
"Aunt Tiara, Uncle Henry," Uncle Darien greeted the two people who were waiting in the car.
In order not to get scorched to death, both Butler Henry and Aunt Tiara were staying inside their cars and let the engine on. It was wasting the oil, but it was better than betting with their lives.
After all, the temperature was truly unkind and no one wanted to stay under the scorching sun for a long period of time.
"Master Darien," Butler Henry quickly came out and greeted. "It’s good to see you doing well."
"You too." Uncle Darien nodded.
"Henry, help me to unload the things inside to his car." Old Master Daniels pointed at Uncle Darien. "The truck and the cars will be left for this brat. Oh right, you also bring some oil for me."
"Yes, Old Master."
"Old Master, is it possible to check whether my husband and son had arrived at the base?" Aunt Tiara asked as she stepped forward.
One of the few reasons why she followed Old Master Daniels was because she didn’t know where her family was. They stayed in the village and should have been there unless there was military rescue.
During the time when the rain was so fierce and it continuously rain for a long time, it was not easy to conduct military rescue.
More and more soldiers will die when they were betting with their lives.
But if they didn’t do anything, these people would die instead.
So there were still some military rescues, but it was limited.
Aunt Tiara didn’t know where her husband and her son were right now, so she was naturally worried.
Uncle Darien nodded. "I’ll let the staffs check the list of the people who had arrived. Everyone needed their ID card to enter the base, so there should be the list. If your husband and son are here, we’ll let you know."
"Thank you." Aunt Tiara was relieved.
The others started to work and filled Uncle Darien’s car quickly. Looking at these stacks of bags, Uncle Darien’s lips twitched. "What did you bring along with you, Father? Why are there so many?"
"This is not only mine but also the other three," Old Master Daniels replied calmly. "Tsk, your car is too small."
Uncle Darien: "..." I’m sorry for not buying bigger car.
The others laughed when they saw Old Master Daniels disliked Uncle Darien’s car. After all, their purpose for having a car back then was for transportation and for the style. Who would buy big cars?
It was not trendy!
Uncle Darien’s car was also a good car, but the size was indeed not very big. Thankfully, it was still enough for four people to go.
