To be honest, Old Master Daniels was not sure either.

Dylan looked at his grandfather and shook his head.

No one talked again as they only silently row the boat or take more water to drink. The temperature was getting hotter and speaking will only make them lose more water because their saliva was drying.

"The apartment is right at front." Dylan looked at the apartment and felt really glad that they were about to arrive. It was almost midday and the temperature was already scorching hot.

By now, all of them were already very wet with sweat.

"We’re here." Anna took a deep breath and when they reached the stairs on the sixth floor, Anna jumped out. She looked at the large open window there and guessed that there should be more people who come out during this period of time.

"Yes." Dylan nodded and started to brought the things out.

They had prepared the poles and could easily carry the things up.

Hearing the faint sound from upstairs, everyone raised their head.

They saw a group of people were walking down.

"Old Harry." Old Master Daniels was surprised when he saw his old friend. He thought that this old friend of his was staying somewhere else, but he’s actually here?

"Old Daniels." Old Master Harrison, who was called Harry by Old Master Daniels, looked at his old friend thoughtfully. "You’re planning to stay here?"

"For a few days. Why are you here?"

"I’m picking my children." Old Master Harrison pointed at the few people behind him.

"Nathan," Dylan greeted.

The young man named Nathan is Dylan’s friend from the same community back then. He had an apartment in the 14th, floor, which was 1402. (The one Jake and the others hit was 1401 and 1301)

When Dylan met Anna for the first time, he had just paid a visit to Nathan to talk about a game. Mark didn’t like to play game while Dylan had some interest, so he usually went to play with his other friends.

Nathan was one of them.

Nathan had a slender body and handsome face. His bright blond hair made him the center of attention in many places. He nodded at Dylan’s greeting. "Dylan. It’s been a while."

"Indeed."

"Let’s step to the corridor first." Old Master Daniels waved his hand and they moved to the corridor on the eight floor and put down their belongings first. It would be very tiring to carry everything all the time.

"Why don’t you go to the base directly?" Old Master Harrison asked.

"I’m already old and weak. I don’t want to compete with the youngsters to get the job to rebuilt the base." Old Master Daniels shook his head.

Hearing that reason, Old Master Harrison rolled his eyes. He knew very well that Old Master Daniels must have other reasons why he wanted to stay in this broken apartment.

"Oh well, when you come to City A Base, come to pay a visit. I’m sure that I’ll be able to welcome you." Old Master Harrison nodded.

"Good idea."

The other people behind Old Master Harrison also nodded their head politely and followed Old Master Harrison down.

Anna watched this encounter and blinked her eyes.

It seemed that not everyone was bad.

There were still some people with good attitude.

Or perhaps, it was because they were already planning to leave from the very beginning. Because of that, they were not willing to add more dramas for themselves.

Anna herself didn’t know Nathan.

Well, she knew his name and had seen him in the community back then. But she was not close to him and could only count as his acquaintances.

"It seems that we already have a future neighbor." Old Master Daniels laughed and then led them upstairs again.

"The apartment is quieter now," Dylan commented.

"Some people choose to go to the base earlier because they felt that the living situation there will be better. However, if they didn’t have any food or other resources to trade and earn their entrance, they wouldn’t be able to enter the base at all. The base is not exactly a shelter but more like a community." Old Master Daniels shook his head. "What they picked in the end will depend on their own choices."

"Do you want to go to the base too, Grandfather?"
