Chapter 125. Stupid
Chapter 125: 125. Stupid
Jake gritted his teeth and said loudly, "Anna, do you not want to see me at all?"
"Anna!"
Bang!
"Damn it! Why are you yelling here?" Lucy came out and looked at Jake with a bad expression. "Anna is not here at all, you idiot!"
Idiot?
Jake was really angry for being called as an idiot.
But his attention was soon attracted by the previous sentence ’Anna is not here at all.’
"What do you mean?" Jake was stupefied.
"It means literally." Lucy narrowed her eyes and smirked. "Do you think that you’re the only one who can get out of this apartment building? Do you forget that we also have a boat and can get out of here?"
Jake was stunned.
Right, when he bumped into them not long ago, they were carrying a large assault boat with them. From the way it looked like, they had just been going out from exploring around. In that case, it was not weird at all for Anna to go outside and try to find supplies.
If they have a boat, Jake himself also wanted to go out and find supplies on his own rather than waiting for his own death.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have any boats.
They could only rely on the limited remaining supplies in this apartment to sustain their lives and tried their best to survive for as long as possible.
It was very frustrating.
"When... When will they return?" Jake asked.
"How could I know?" Lucy frowned and felt that Anna’s patience was really great to be able to face this annoying Jake in front of her.
If it was her, she would have long beat Jake up to the point that he was unrecognizable. There was no way she would be patient enough to face this kind of scum man who was very annoying and very frustrating to look at.
"Can’t you contact her?" Jake stepped forward in anger.
Mark appeared from the door and looked at Jake with a dark face, which stopped him from going forward. Even if there was an anti theft door in front of him, Mark still didn’t think that it was safe for Lucy to go out on his own.
Who knew what kind of crazy thing these people could do.
Thankfully, Mark’s presence alone was a great deterrence for Jake.
Lucy snorted and crossed her arms. "So what if I can contact her? Why should I contact her for you?"
Why?
Jake was stumped and wanted to say that he’s his fiancée when he recalled that he didn’t seem to have this identity anymore. When he thought about it this way, he felt even more frustrated.
"Don’t you have her number?" Lucy continued, not caring about how hurtful her words are. "Oh, I forgot that you have been blocked by her. As a person who had abandoned his own fiancée, I don’t think it’s strange for you to be blocked. Don’t you have to care more about your current fiancée?"
Every sentence felt like a knife had been stabbed to Jake’s heart.
He looked at Lucy badly but didn’t dare to step forward and could only stop in his tracks. He felt really frustrated right now.
Many words were gathered in his stomach but not a single one of them could be taken out because all kinds of excuses seemed to be utterly useless in front of Lucy.
The two girls have completely different personalities.
Lucy was much more headstrong and upfront. Anna was a bit kinder and softer, which made her look rather amiable.
Thus, Lucy always seemed to be covered in thorns. This made those who wanted to get close to her didn’t dare to step forward. Because they were afraid that they would be hurt by these thorns that Lucy showed.
"I..."
"Let’s ignore him." Mark snorted and pulled Lucy back into the room. He slammed the door shut.
Bang!
Jake watched the door being slammed shut and clenched his fingers to form a fist. He really wanted to wait for Anna, but he knew that these people wouldn’t agree with him being so willful.
’There will be a chance in the future to talk with her again.’
Jake patted his chest where his heart was located to calm himself down before he slowly turned around. For the time being, he will follow the arrangement and live his own life.
It’s just a woman.
Can’t he live without a woman?
Besides, he still has Betty by his side.
When Jake thought about Betty, he felt a bit uncomfortable deep inside, but he tried his best not to show anything else. He went back down and reunited with the others, who had already finished packing.
"Jake, are you alright?" Betty asked, looking concerned.
"I’m fine." Jake forced a smile on his face and patted Betty’s hand. "Wait a minute, I need to take my bag."
"Yes." Betty smiled sweetly.
Andy looked at these two’s interactions and scoffed. He felt that it was no wonder the two of them got along well. From the way it looked like, the two of them have always been like this and only cared about the sweetness between them.
Sweet?
For a rational person like him, Andy didn’t believe in the sweet words of these women’s mouths in the slightest bit. They were always filled with lies and couldn’t be trusted at all. Rather than listening to these annoying women’s words, it would be better for him to focus on gathering his own power and resources in order to make his own name in this changed world.
Andy’s eyes flashed with ruthlessness.
"Ok, I’m done." Jake came out while carrying a bag. There were not many things inside the bag, just some spare clothes and some snacks he hadn’t eaten yet.
"Let’s go." The man stood up and then led them away.
...
Lucy and Mark’s place.
"Damn, I really can’t understand how Anna could stay patient when she’s facing such a brain dead and annoying person like Jake." Lucy couldn’t help but curse Jake again when they got back. She felt that her brain was hurting when she thought about Jake and his actions.
