Chapter 115: 115. Company Building’s Information
"What? Can’t I read novels?" Anna pouted, trying her best to look normal. If not for the blush on her face, other people might still believe her.
Dylan laughed. "It’s not like you’re not allowed to read novels. But you have to know that sometimes, there are many differences between novel and real world."
"Um... my father has a bed in his break room." Anna looked at Dylan suspiciously.
Dylan’s lips twitched.
He thought about Anna’s step mother and had a faint guess that the main reason why there was a bed was for him to facilitate his meeting with that woman.
"Anyway, there’s no bed in my family’s companies."
"Why?"
"Because it’s unnecessary. You come to the office to work and not to sleep." Dylan was trying his best to explain. "Also, do you know that many companies didn’t even proper physical company building? If you don’t have enough money, you can only rent a place to be used as a company.
If the place is in the business area that’s very good, the rent is very expensive. Smaller companies wouldn’t be willing to use the already limited space to make a break room with bed in their company."
Anna blinked her eyes.
She did learn a bit about business from her mother, but she was not very interested in it. Even her mother finally gave up and told her that it would be better for her to hire a manager to take care of her companies after her father gave it to her.
After all, Anna is the only daughter in the Williams Family back then.
It was only natural for her mother to think that their family’s company will be inherited by her daughter.
But it didn’t take long for her mother to die and everything in Williams Family changed.
Anna also knew that Williams Family company would have nothing to do with her.
She also didn’t care.
Because she knew that even in her hand, she wouldn’t be able to do much to manage the company when she had no such qualification.
"Then why don’t they pick cheaper location?" Anna asked.
"Because if they pick cheaper place, it would be an unknown place." Dylan thought for a moment and then added, "Let’s see, would you trust a brand from a remote place or a famous brand?"
"Famous brand," Anna replied without hesitation.
"It’s quite similar with businessmen." Dylan nodded. "If your company is located in an unknown small place, it’s harder to find connection to work together. Unless your target is just to be a small company and your buyer targets are living around you, businessmen would not want to pick the remote places.
When two companies wanted to work together, they will first learn about the information of other people’s company. If the company is located in the big business district, it will raise their impression of you, raising the chance of successful collaboration. If it’s from a remote place, they will worry about the quality, price, and so on because of the origin."
Dylan shrugged.
People paid quite a lot of attention to their appearance. It was quite similar to how it was in business.
Unless you were close friends and knew you could trust the other party, they would pay attention to many other details.
Such as the company’s history, location, and so on.
Company’s location could be said to be their so called image in front of outsiders. And being in prime location will also help them to attract business customers.
For example, stores like business would definitely pick a good location where there are many people who could be a customer rather than at the end of the street where no one would even come to pay a visit.
"Of course, there are many other things to pay attention to in business. This is just one aspect of them," Dylan continued.
Anna nodded.
"So, many companies actually only rent a floor to hang the sign of their company in that building. This way, it would look as if they were a ’big’ company in a ’famous’ business district." Dylan smiled helplessly.
Anna had a look of realization.
It was no wonder when she was looking at the list of companies, they would all have similar address. The difference lies in their number or the floor.
At that time, she only thought that there were a lot of buildings there.
But it was actually just one floor.
Even, some companies only rent a room.
It was used to hang their company’s name while their actual operation was miles away in the place that was far cheaper.
"How did you know so much?" Anna asked curiously.
"Did you forget what my family did for business?" Dylan was amused. "I hadn’t gone to work yet, but I know about it a bit from my grandfather. The houses and buildings belonged to my family is not only the mansions and houses but also company buildings. We also rented them out for businessmen who wanted to do their business. Many of them came to us to rent a small place just for the sake of hanging their business name."
Anna: "..." I see, no wonder he knew so much.
Even though Dylan technically hadn’t started working yet, he still knew many information because of his family business.
It was his advantage.
"Then the building where we’re going?"
"It’s a company building. To be exact, it’s for the employees of one of my family’s business. If I’m not wrong, something related to industry?" Dylan was not entirely sure and turned to look at his grandfather.
Old Master Daniels rolled his eyes. "When will you start remembering things correctly? It’s the company that sold soap and other bathroom necessities. We start collaborating with them recently and this is the company to manage it."
Dylan nodded and then looked at Anna. "Just like what Grandfather said."
Old Master Daniels: "..."
His fingers already itched to spank this brat in front of him again.
