I’m Really Scared
Chapter 69: Health Bar Transfer

Guan Shan looked at his suddenly transparent hand, confused when he heard the simulator say, "You have become a ghost." The last scenario had him playing a ghost wandering in the Edge of Hell, and now he had truly become a ghost. Was he acting out both reality and fiction?

Damn it!

Guan Shan looked down at himself, noticing his entire body had become semi-transparent, feeling light and almost floating. Then he turned around and saw his familiar yet strange face—himself, eyes closed, slumped in the chair as if asleep. His state perfectly mirrored that of Kogoro Mouri from Detective Conan.

Guan Shan felt something was off, pondering for a moment before realizing the problem.

"Damn! Why is the health bar on my physical body?!"

Guan Shan stared, dumbfounded, at the health bar floating above his body's head. The health bar that should have been in the top left corner of his vision had vanished, now displayed above his physical form.

Confused, Guan Shan wondered, "What does this mean? According to the scenario, I became a ghost, but my physical body isn't 'dead'?"

As he pondered, the scene around him rapidly changed. The walls turned into a prison made of human limbs, and the floor beneath him transformed into layers of sticky blood pools, leading to the chair where his physical body sat. The chair became an execution chair with shackles, a noose hanging above, the long rope extending into an unknown void.

The scene seemed set for Guan Shan's immediate execution.

Realizing the scenario's meaning, Guan Shan thought, "I'm not dead yet, but the Grim Reaper can't stand me being a troublemaker, so he's going to execute me. My soul is separated, and I have to protect my body."

"What kind of crime did I commit to deserve this VIP treatment?"

Just as he finished his thought, he felt a chill. Becoming a ghost might mean he couldn't interact with physical objects.

He immediately checked his equipment. Fortunately, none of his weapons were locked, though the Neural Magnetic Field (temporary) and its special metal plates were marked unusable. He sighed in relief, understanding that as a ghost, he had no nerves or brain, so the field wouldn't work.

However, he noticed a new status effect:

【You have obtained the [Hellfire] status (temporary)】

Guan Shan checked the details.

【Hellfire】

【Effect: Attacks deal additional [cumulative monster kill count x 10%] damage; current kill count: 75】

【Description: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.】

Feeling reassured, Guan Shan thought, "This gives me a 7.5% damage boost. It's better than nothing."

"Where are the enemies?"

Guan Shan looked around, expecting monsters to attack, but everything remained quiet. The prison walls and windows were sealed; the only entrance was the door.

"The scenario suggested the Grim Reaper is behind me. Given my chair's position, the Grim Reaper must come through the door."

Feeling the scenario's difficulty, Guan Shan used the time to prepare.

Analyzing his situation, he realized some skills were unusable, especially those linked to his health. With his health bar transferred, healing items were useless.

Guan Shan decided, "Since I'm invincible now, I'll focus on offense!"

He armed himself with a Glock and a large chainsaw, replacing the Healing Talisman with the Strange Marking, anticipating ghostly enemies and the Grim Reaper.

【Strange Marking】

【Effect: Unknown.】

【Description: A metal mark that appears different from every angle. Some beings avoid it.】

Feeling the cold mark on his ghostly form, Guan Shan thought, "Its description suggests a chance to nullify damage."

He then donned the Mask of Agony, a soft, skin-like mask resembling a clown's face with exaggerated makeup and blood-red tears.

"Demonic Markings related to health are useless now. I'll use the luck enhancement when necessary."

With defensive items like the Ksitigarbha Statue's shield, Guan Shan felt prepared. He also set up the Bear Trap at the door, ensuring any intruder would face a nasty surprise.

"Perfect!"

Ready for battle, Guan Shan faced the door, waiting for the Grim Reaper.

"Done," Li Li said, jumping from the windowsill and licking his paw. Turning to Meng Ting, he said, "Go ahead, it's your turn."

Muttering to himself, Li Li added, "He had no resistance to 'Soul Capture,' just as the intel said. He truly has no defense against special abilities."

Meng Ting sneered, "I told you so."

"Wait here. I'll be back in five minutes after killing him."

Walking to the front door, Meng Ting ignored Li Li's question about taking a direct route.

Meng Ting opened the Han family gate slowly, saying, "What's the rush? Climbing walls is undignified."

"That Guan Shan is arrogant, killing half the Worker Bees and destroying an entire experimental site."

Meng Ting's eyes glinted with malice as he looked up at the second-floor room, smiling cruelly, "I'll walk up, let him see me coming, and kill him with a finger. He'll understand what it feels like to be crushed."
